Buying a nice bottle of champagne to celebrate a new baby, Whole Foods has a nice Moet & Chandon box on the shelf. Turns out you can not buy that nice box. No signage explains this, and they make you wait at the counter while they retrieve the bottle, and take BACK the box! So... I just went down the street and bought the same thing at a liquor store. If you display the box, then sell the box. Or at least put up a sign to say "box may not be purchased." The dealer obviously created the box to "sell" their product. Whole Foods' policy lost the sale here. What other product in a box is sold, but then at the counter they remove the product from the box? Cereal? Spaghetti? (laughing emoji). A smug statement of the undisclosed policy by a manager, obviously not caring, does not help the customer. Do better, Whole Foods.
