That moment when a person wonders if it's worth the cost... I'm referring to walking into this Bay Area Starbucks, and having the worst experience. The seating is limited, and what is available is not only dirty, but uncomfortable. I ordered a venti strawberry açaí lemonade, and the gentleman at the counter acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. When he finally understood after showed him on the app, his response was, "I've never had that" okay, then. I smiled and suggested that he try it. He replied with "I would never drink that". What does anyone say to that ?!? While I waited for my drink, I went over to the restrooms to wash my hands. There are two water closets, and the shared sink is outside of the two restrooms. The water closets were dirty. I'll leave it at that. The sinks were interesting. It's one large sink with faucets that dispense soap, water, and will dry your hands. Admittedly, that's pretty cool. My drink was ready, and the only way I knew, was to walk over to the counter that had piled up drink orders. No names being called to let customers know that their order is ready. My drink wasn't made correctly, and I politely mentioned it to the person at that counter. He stared at me like I had said something in another language. I requested the drink to be remade, and he refused. I asked for a straw, and he made some funny noise with his mouth, and pushed the straw across the counter to me. This is not a typical Starbucks experience, and this isn't a location that I will be returning to. read more

The customer service here has gotten so much better since the last time I came in early 2024. I actually had a pretty bad experience back then, but I didn't leave a review because I rarely write them whether good or bad unless it really stands out. This time though, I was super impressed. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by almost everyone working. At the register, Paul helped me out and he was honestly so kind and genuine. I'm pretty complicated when it comes to my order, but he took his time with me and didn't make me feel rushed at all, even with a line behind me (sorry about that lol). He even read my order back to make sure it was right, which I really appreciated. After that I noticed the bar was pretty busy with just two people working, but Paul jumped in to help Miles who was doing the cold drinks while Paul made the hot espresso ones. I only waited maybe two minutes before he called my name. When I picked up my drink, I saw he wrote "Have a gran-de!" on it. So cute. Overall, this visit totally changed my impression of this location. Everyone was friendly, fast, and welcoming. I'll definitely be coming back whenever I'm home in the Bay. Honestly not sure what any of the reviews are talking about. This is the only Starbucks I have been to in a long time where baristas are attentive, kind, and hardworking. Every other Starbucks in the area is extremely unclean, rude and makes drinks horribly. This Starbucks is dependable and consistent. I usually come in right before work and actually go 10 minutes out of the way to come to this location specifically. Even though they are handling what feels like a million orders during the morning rush, they give you your food and drinks extremely quickly. They have a whole system down and it's working out great! We spend a lot of money at this Starbucks! It's close to where we live, the center is new & nice & it's a convenient location. This week on two separate occasions Sunday & Monday I saw the same lady with her dog going into the store. There is a clear sign that states service animals only! This dog is not a service animal however the woman put a puffer vest on the dog cause it was cold. It's a huge German shepherd by the way! So I think she put the vest on to make people think this is a service animal. It's very unsanitary to have a huge dog in a small space. She was sitting in the middle table with the dog under her feet. As someone with pet dander allergies I think it's unfair that people think they are above the rules! The employees need to kindly ask people to leave their pets outside! Also maybe not bring them to a coffee shop while your studying inside for hours at a time! Starbucks needs to handle this situation because it's getting out of control. read more

I would always drive past this location but finally decided to stop by late Wednesday afternoon. It wasn't bustling but there were quite a few people inside and sitting outdoors under the umbrellas. The workers will chime in a friendly tone all in unison welcome~*~* haha I noticed the interior is rather different. There is bar seating where you could watch the baristas make your drinks. It's a nice cozy spot with windows all around so lots of light comes through. read more

First time coming here and the plaza is already nice but lonely but this Starbucks is in a good location for workers nearby and also very unique from the other Starbucks. To order you go through the door closest to the wall and you pick up your order at the other entrance near the parking area and they have a walk-in talkie to call your name when your order is ready which I thought was cool. I tried ordering thru the mobile app but their location didn't show up so many they aren't doing that at the moment. When I walked in I was greeted by the friendly workers. What makes this location different from the other locations is the menus are not on the wall which is okay if you know your Starbucks order by heart but for a new person probably not a good thing. Other than that I like the design they have going on, very simple and clean. They make your drinks fast so you don't have to wait long. read more

As other reviews mentioned, this is a new store in a new location. My first visit was today. Wasn't sure how many people would be here but seems everyone knows. Busy for the three hours I have been here and the drinks keep flowing. Everyone seems happy. The expected festive colors and items are present. I am feeling a holiday spirit while working online this morning. Sizable outdoor seating for when the weather is good. Decent indoor seating with all 2-4 seating tables and chairs at the two sided bar. Thumbs up. read more

The service was very great especially for it to have been after the holidays as I was reading the reviews I saw something outstanding that left me questioning whether this person was telling the truth. I had a great experience all of the the workers were very polite, I didn't have to wait a long time for my drink. The barista who took my order, "Kenya" maybe was her name? bland attitude, I asked her if the apple crossiant is good and she said "I don't know I never tried it" ... To whom it may concern, The other day my family went to Starbucks on Holger Way p, north 1st street in San Jose. As we parked our car facing the entrance we noticed a seemingly homeless person sitting in a chair without a shirt on bare chest with a sign asking for money. With great trepidation my son and daughter got out of the car and went inside to pick up our pre-ordered coffees. As they went in the beggar saw me waiting in my car and approached my vehicle, I kept my windows rolled up and completely ignored him. After he realized that I refused to talk to him he walked away and spit on the hood of my car. Seconds later my kids returned to our car and I told them what happened, I immediately called 911 San Jose Police Department and explained to the dispatcher what happened. My son also went inside to tell a manager what happened and she came out as the beggar jumped on his bike and rode away, cursing me as he took off. These encounters are very traumatic and have led to fatal outcomes, these people are homeless and mentally challenged, I request the we introduce new legislation that requires businesses owners to insure the safety of its customers within 100 feet of their entrance. Starbucks was very negligent, but told me they are not responsible for the behavior of homeless people in or around their store. I was very disappointed with the response of the District Manager Tiffany. At first she seemed supportive, then a week later reversed her empathy and didnt even offer any compensation or remorse. I will not be shopping or dining here anymore, or at any other Starbucks location if they treat their customers this way. It has to stop. read more

They made a Starbucks across the street from another Starbucks. Then the other Starbucks closed down. Idk but checked it out anyways. The Starbucks is different, more hipster looking but nice. There isn't as many tables as other Starbucks so it doesn't seem extremely packed (at least the time that I went) Customer service wasn't an issue. Attentive, helped out right away. Ordered an ice drink. Literally. It was mostly ice. I recently discovered "Pink Drink" and it's my ultimate FAVE. They put so much ice, felt like I took 3 sips and it was gone. Great flavor though. Love coming to this location! This is my go-to Starbucks location that's closest to my house. I was so happy that when they renovated this plaza, this Starbucks was able to move over here. I remember when they were at the other corner (diagonally from this location), it was horrible and sometimes a little dangerous to get over there. The parking lot had maybe 20 parking spots (maybe less) and it was super small inside. Seeing this location being able to be in a bigger and nicer spot makes me happy for them. And they have so much more parking. I was coming here before COVID hit and the only thing that I noticed that stayed the same was that the service is slow when you order in-store. Not sure why it takes them so long to make drinks, but it doesn't really matter now because I only order through their app. They have taken a lot of initiative in making sure that customers are staying safe and healthy. They have signs for where to stand when waiting outside. They also had a designated door for entering and a designated door for exiting. But now there's only 1 door; you stand outside (6ft apart) in line. 1 shared line for in-store ordering and mobile pick ups. They even have a table outside with a napkin dispenser so that you can open the doors with a napkin. They also have hand sanitizer outside for when you leave. Overall, I've never had any issues with my drinks and it's a great location with friendly employees. read more

This location always seems to take a while on orders. I've even tried to get ahead and do mobile orders, and I've still had to wait 5-10 minutes past my "ready by" time. Today was the last straw for me. After the barista greeted me complaining about being short staffed, I was walking out with my drink in hand to find a hair right inside my cup. To some, it may not be a big deal, but it's just not a great way to start your morning. I went back inside to let the barista know there was a hair and gave them my cup back - no apology, just "let me make you a new one". Then when I got my remade drink, he says "sorry it's overflowing a little bit"... my drink was made messy and inconsistent. This location just lacks in both customer service and quality. read more

Brand new Starbucks in a brand new building with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. What more could you ask for? The service is lacking and a bit slow - typical of new places. You would think they would hire baristas with much more experience from other locations. Shiny new Starbucks! This is nestled away in the newly built mission park marketplace. The cross street is Mission College Boulevard and is across the street from Bandai Namco. I'm being way too specific, I know, but it took me forever to find out this location, as it wasn't in Yelp or Google Maps. On the Starbucks app, you won't find it as the correct one either. It registers as Thomas and what not.. just an FYI, it's that new. I went there around 2 pm, and it wasn't too bad. Lots of parking because it's the only store that was there. I imagine though, that it will get packed once other stores start to fill the area. It's beautifully built and very Silicon Valley-Esque. It's hipster chic with a lot of space to mingle on the side patio and next to another area belonging to the marketplace that has stringed lights and conversational seating. Inside is moderately small, a few tables and chairs - but it's mostly outside seating. Bar seating is available if you so do wish. I wasn't able to use the bathroom, because well, I didn't need to. Overall the drink I ordered was good as usual - a grande iced chai latte with whip. Not too heavy on the milk and perfect with the chai. It came quickly and with a smile. I'm hoping that this will stay beautiful and clean and that the baristas will stay just as happy as I first came. read more

Don't order online and pay extra for the extra pumps of sauces or syrups. They charge you but don't add it. I ordered my coffees about 5 minutes out, when I got there, the drinks were not mixed. I ordered them shaken. The iced chai tea latte was tea on the bottom milk on top. Same with another drink. I asked why it was like that, they told me because I waited too long, so it separated. When I went back to ask for a cup to shake it myself, the girl handing the drinks looked at me and turned around. Why be in customer service if you don't like dealing with customers? Although I prefer the non-chain coffee shops is always nice to see new complexes open, especially in industrial parks (I used to work so close and was no caffeine to enjoy or the usual salads and sandwiches from a Starbucks around). This new coffee shop is very nice, clean, modern look and a nice exterior that is giving some life to an area that was in the middle of between somewheres.
