Why keep the store open when half the menu items aren't available? No halo halo, tandoori chicken, duck, lychee jelly, buns, noodles, dumplings, spring rolls, you name it. I had to list out 10+ different items just to find something off the menu that they were still serving. I've never had to wait over half an hour just for a banh mi and fruit tea. There was only one couple waiting for their to-go order who came in 10 minutes after I ordered yet they got their food/drink before I did. It took forever just to get the sandwich to come out and they didn't even toast the bun which I don't get what caused the hold up on that when it takes only a few minutes to slap toppings on. It took 20 minutes just for the fruit tea to come out which only takes a few minutes to make. The worker apologized about the wait and made an excuse that there were so many orders while we were the only customers ordering when the restaurant was dead. The tables and everything else inside are also really dirty. The fruit tea tastes like sugar water, the dessert was just a bunch of artificial canned jelly and milk, and the sandwich definitely used bad meat that was sitting out. There was not a single item that was good and definitely not worth the wait. The sandwich also gave my dad food poisoning.

This was actually my 2nd visit to 5t Ice. The very first visit, the door was sticky and it looked dark inside, so we thought they were closed even though there were employees in there and were about to leave. Second time was a charm for sure!..which left me feeling overwhelmed and excited about the choices. This review is mostly about my recent visit. I'll briefly describe my first visit in 2019, which was a little disappointing. I didn't know what to order and randomly picked something with stale brownies/cookies and chocolate ice cream. We also got some soft serve, which they no longer have. The snack were also a little stale as well, so I won't even get into that. 6/26/24 visit: I literally walked in there and asked if they had cheese foam and she said YES (but that it is new and not on the menu yet)! I wasn't expecting her to say yes AND they have other drinks I've been wanting to try (in general) AND they have ube foam. I can't even....she was laughing at how speechless and confused I was with all the options. Ultimately, I asked her if I can have the iced Vietnamese coffee with cheese foam, basically created my own drink (typical me....). The drink was absolutely amazing, with a very strong coffee flavor, the way I love it. They do carry different snacks (Japanese cheesecake, ube cake, pre-packaged croissant, etc.), but I'm definitely more interested in the drinks. I love that they are keeping up with the trends, so I definitely will return for a 4th and 5th (etc.) visit to try the coconut matcha foam and the ube foam. The location itself is kind of in the corner of the structure. It looks a little bit like a "hole in the wall" type place, but this time, I wasn't fulled, I made sure to order the right thing. Also, it helped that the employee was super nice and helpful...I do wish I got her name, but I was just too busy being overwhelmed and excited.

If you are craving for Filipino tasting TAHO, this is the best place you can go to! It tastes soooo similar to our favorite breakfast/dessert! No ginger taste, same great texture! You can buy it small or large container. It may be far from our home, but worth driving! They even have the other fares like filipino ice creams, buko pandan, kinda binatog delicacy, halo halo, mais con yelo, etc! Check them out & their other vietnamese food/snacks!

Always my favorite go to place. They have a lot of great vietnamese fast food here. Love their avocado smash. The store is small so there is not a lot of seating place but one table. They have quite a selection of different vietnamese food every weekend.

Thanks to the PBS kids app my three year old really needed to try halo halo. This was the closet place I could find and I'm glad we made the trip. Very interesting dessert and I definitely finished it off, but lack a comparison to judge if it's representative of what a Filipino restaurant would serve (my friend recommended a spot in Woodbridge which I'll have to try). Expect a small business vibe that is optimized more for a grab and go than dine in experience (don't judge a book by its cover here). They were bustling with people grabbing drinks, food, and desserts. Preschooler was happy, I was happy, what more do you need?

I came here for fun to try some drinks. I saw they got many good tasting drinks, such as ube and mango. Surprisingly, they have milkshakes too. However, my milkshake was not satisfying. It tasted more like just Oreos and milk rather than good ice cream. I wouldn't recommend getting this item. My friend got an ube smoothie and she said it was delicious! They used magnolia ice cream, so you know it's gonna be good! I'd come back here to try other drinks if it was closer to me. This isn't a dine in place and the restroom apparently doesn't work. The inside is a little messy with all the supplies they have. If you don't care about the interior, then this is a must try place for drinks.

First time coming here since they moved from Chantilly and changed their name. I stopped really sick after eating a Banh bao that they had refrigerated and reheated. I'm sure the baos came from 3rd party supplier...but they sit out all day then whatever is left, they refrigerate and sell. I don't fault them but I've learned to only buy them same day, never if it's refrigerated. Their Banh mi sandwiches are made to order so I never had issues and really enjoyed them. I ordered a house Banh mi and halo halo....asked for extra pate. The kid said ok. He made the halo halo, I didn't see the traditional flan on top so I asked him. He said he don't put it on unless it's requested??? Ok I then requested it. He looks around and doesn't find any and the lady in the back said something to him in Vietnamese and he tells me they are out. I took it as is...it was still good...just a little disappointed that you have to request it since traditional halo halo has it on top. Banh mi literally had one thin slice of ham, one slice of cha lua, and some pate. I didn't even see the roasted red pork or the mayo....and remember I asked for extra pate. That definitely didn't happen. I heard the kid tell her house banh mi and nothing else. So once again, they have failed me. I will not go back.

Ube Milkshake

5t Ice was a good dessert shop, featuring Asian flavors and treats. Located in northern Virginia in a retail strip, near major shops, it's easy to find and there's something for everyone here to enjoy. I visited 5t Ice for a drink and saw that they had an ube milkshake, which I had to try since I love ube anything! I visited soon after it opened on a weekday and was the only customer inside at the time, so there was no wait. The shop itself is small, with only takeout offered. There was no room for dining inside. My ube milkshake was good, especially since it was made with ube ice cream. It had a good consistency of milk to ice cream, so it was blended perfectly. Because it was a milkshake, it was definitely on the heavier side, so I ended up drinking this shake in two days. I loved how creamy the ube ice cream was! In addition to a variety of drinks, from boba teas, to smoothies and shakes, they also had desserts like pandan cake slices, cheesecakes, etc. Glad to have checked out 5t Ice while in town.

The Brownie double chocolate cookie is hands-down my favorite and tastes like a fudgy brownie. The dark chocolate chips just melt! The Classic Chocolate Chip cookie was a bit too sweet and tastes like a sugar cookie with chocolate chips. I wasn't a fan of the Cookies and Cream Oreo cookie. The Cina-Cookie tastes like a buttery Snickerdoodle cookie with cream cheese filling. The Birthday Bash cookie was fun to try, but quite sweet and loaded with sugar. Highly recommend warming up the cookies in the microwave for 20-30 sec, they soften up and taste like they were just baked with that delicious ooey gooey texture. The chocolate chips just melt in your mouth! If you get delivery, the cookies are stone cold. Delivery takes 2-3 days after placing an order, even local shipping takes a full day. While it was fun to try the 4 pack of cookies with delivery, it was just too much and I was on a serious sugar overload. It would be nice to have an option to only get a set of 2 cookies with delivery. The cookies just don't taste as good cold even with reheating and it's better just to get the cookies at the shop. Will stop by for the Chocoholic double chocolate when I'm in the area. Happy to support this small NOVA business!

PLEASE NOTE: This was for nationwide shipping…read more It had been a while since I had ordered from MidnighTreats, but after a 36 hour snowstorm the winter blues had officially settled into my soul and I needed a little pick-me-up. Important reminders: each MidnighTreats cookie weighs over 1/3 pound! They're enormous, and for sure big enough to split (... to share, sure, or just to enjoy yourself later; they even recommend cutting them in half before freezing them [if they last that long]). PRO TIP: you *have* to reheat them before eating them (otherwise the flavor/taste/texture just isn't the same). Build your own box for currently $30 ($20 plus $10ish for shipping), and some of the flavors change each month. We've tried... + Birthday Bash (funfetti rainbow sprinkles cookie): personally, I like the nostalgic flavor of generic "birthday cake" that's recently become a thing, and I think they do a fantastic job capturing it! + Strawberry Shortcake (shortcake cookie smothered in strawberry icing): This was the taste of summer I needed. So bright! Just the right amount of sweet! And they definitely didn't hold back on the icing! +/- The Classic (a blend of dark and semi-sweet chocolate chips): compared to other vegan chocolate chip cookies that can be shipped to your home, this one's actually one of the better ones! +/- The Chocoholic (fudgy double chocolate chip cookie): you have to REALLY, REALLY like/be craving chocolate for this one. - Cookies N Cream (oreo bits with chocolate chips and vanilla chips): this one was just okay, and I take the blame for missing that it contained white chocolate chips which I am not a fan of. It says they're vanilla, but that's not what they taste like to me. - The Cinna-Roll: I believe the recipe for this one has changed over the years, because it used to be a cinnamon roll flavored cookie with cream in the center (and there was *barely* any of it, making it a very dry, very boring cookie). It seems it's now a cinnamon roll cookie smothered in vanilla icing, so I just wanted to make sure I had corrected info here. Other things of note: they've donated thousands of dollars to animal sanctuaries across the country! they've planted close to 20K trees with reforestation projects! they've donated thousands to local schools and shelters in their NOVA community! How can you not love a company who's built in giving back to their community in their core principles?!

It's even smaller, and in a tiny random, not where you would expect to find bakery! It has a tiny display of fresh pastries, shelf full of fresh baked breads and freezer full of more breads! Service is great, always with a smile. We tried a little bit of everything and ended up going back a couple of days later for some fresh bread. Finding good, like good gf bread is really hard. Most times literally hard. Got the brioche buns and was impressed for gf buns! Yes they still fell apart. Yes they weren't as soft as traditional brioche, but they were good for gf buns. I love their ham and cheese croissant. It's greasy, I prefer it cold, my kid only likes it warmed up. Donut is by far the best gf cake style donut we've ever had. It's light, flavor is incredible, moist. I typically skip gf cake donuts, but this one was calling to me, so happy we got it. Cinnamon roll was not good. Frosting had zero sugar. It was hard as a rock, so no one wanted to eat it. But as most gf cinnamon rolls, you have to eat them within a few hours, so this one could have just been too old. There's a decent amount of gluten free bakeries scattered across the DMV area, but this is by far the best for bread! The best variety, fresh and frozen. If they sell out of something you can count on they'll have a back up of something similar. Also. surprised to see complaining about prices..... I actually think they aee cheap for gluten free items!

An all-you-can-eat sushi buffet inside a mall is probably not the first place you'd look for good…read morefood, but since we had a huge party, we wanted a place that had plenty of options, and we were satisfied with Sushi King at Dulles Town Center. First, be careful because there are two AYCE options, and the one with crab legs is much more expensive than the one without - be specific about which one you're getting. The drinks are generous, the food is good, and in addition to the options at the buffet are table options, with various rolls and appetizers like the Jalapeno Yellowtail (my favorite) and the Black Pepper Tuna Tataki - order these and they'll bring them out to your table. We also ordered several rolls and they came out together on a huge boat. There are also cooked options for the kids. Overall, a decent sushi venture with plenty of options. Thumbs up!

It wasn't super crowded, but there was a good amount of people that were there. Great sign. Ambiance is chill and relaxed. We've been here twice before and we knew exactly what to get and how to order for the best bang for buck under the deluxe option: - small serving of soup and plate from the buffet (choose only small bites you want to try and know you can finish) -- we loved the orange chicken and the miso soup; galbi could be seasoned better. They also have "kid" buffet options: chicken nuggets, fries, and pizza. My partner has a sweet spot for kid food at buffets so he enjoyed the pizza - LARGE serving of sashimi: we did 8 pieces each of salmon, tuna, white tuna, and red clam; 4 pieces of eel and tofu skin; 2 pieces of shrimp. SUPER cool and fresh; hits the seafood craving spot so nicely - plate of oysters from the cold bar - we did about a dozen; most were sweet but the one I ended on was briny - some people like briny but it isn't my thing - no sushi for us. Rice fills you up so fast. ("Gotta make my money worth" in Steven He voice) - NEW: we opted for the special appetizers: one salmon wrap and one house special beef soba noodle bowl per person. Beef soba soup was somewhat spicy and tasted as if a bowl of pho and a bowl of ramen had a baby. Amazing. The Kani wrapped in salmon doused in yuzu sauce with tobiko and chopped scallions was DELICIOUS. Order this and you won't need a tartare appetizer. - no "boba tea" it doesn't look appetizing tbh. My partner got a peach jasmine tea and regretted it - too artificially sweetened - don't forget the crab legs! They're such a large serving, keep that in mind. But the amount of work makes you hungry and makes you crave that "reward"; comes with melted butter but you don't really need it as it isn't that great and the crab legs are tasty enough - NEW: soda is on the house now! We got a Diet Pepsi -- washes down everything so nicely - always end on ice cream-- we love the mini Helados de Mexico - puddings are hit or miss. We loved the ube pudding; the honeydew tasted too artificial and left a chemical aftertaste We came home feeling so satisfied. And the fact that all of the above was $93 before tip was amazing. Go anywhere else and that's a $200+ meal. Our server Evy was attentive and friendly. Great service, amazing food. Will always choose and recommend Sushi King for our AYCE sashimi and crab leg fix.
