    Buffet bar

We came here for lunch on a Saturday and there was no wait. We chose the regular AYCE which does not include unlimited sashimi and crab legs (deluxe/premium AYCE). There's a buffet bar with a good amount non-sushi options like lomein, fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, galbi, shrimp, mussels, potstickers, soups, crawfish, raw bar, salad, desserts, etc. The fridge also has various milk tea options. If you had to get full on something other than the sushi here, I would recommend the galbi!! It was so flavorful and also had such a nice char to it! For sushi, we really enjoyed the following nigiris: salmon, yellowtail, and white tuna. Everything tasted fresh except for some of the regular tuna which was hit or miss. The fish was decent size and the rice was fluffy, but could've use a bit less rice per piece imo. We thought the spider roll (soft shell crab roll) was nicely done and wasn't drowning in eel sauce. They also did a great job with the yellowtail jalapeño and black pepper tuna appetizers! Don't forget to grab some ice cream in the freezer at the end of your meal! Service was great and prompt! Ambience is casual. We will definitely return when we're in the mood for some AYCE sushi and galbi!

I was super excited to see we were getting a sushi king as I love other locations of this chain. As far as I can tell, this one is a lot different than the other ones I've been too in VA. Overall, I prefer some of the other AYCE sushi restaurants in the area than this one. We were excited to see a large buffet area with a wide variety of foods. The food tasted good, but since it's being heated via hot plates etc, it gets cold really quickly . We came around 8 and some of the items were out and weren't restocked which is understandable since they closed at 9:30 and it was not very full. Service was quick and very friendly and attentive! That was the one really high note. Unfortunately, the food fell a little flat for us. Aside from the food getting cold super quickly, we each ordered two rolls. One of my rolls was good but the second one had such a strange taste to it, not like any roll I've had before and it was just a simple rainbow roll. Couldn't finish the piece I had tried. The dessert section is ok, but most of it was puddings and jellos which could be great for kids. Overall, I think it's worth a try but I don't know if I would come here over my go to spot in sterling.

I was finally able to dine here to satisfy my insane sushi craving this month. I'm giving 4 stars (instead of 5) for a couple reasons, noted towards the end of my review. There is something extremely satisfying about AYCE sushi, made to order. The price is right and the options are perfect. Order all at once, or throughout and they will bring it out accordingly. As a follow up from my previous review, the all you can eat is $27.95 all day Monday through Sunday. There is an additional charge of $12 for the deluxe option, which includes unlimited crab legs and sashimi. For the first ~1 month of opening (up until 7/31/24), they offered 20% off the bill. The fruits, appetizer buffet and ice cream/desserts are included in both the regular and deluxe options. The regular $27.95 option includes the following items from the menu: -Regular & hand rolls -Lunch special rolls -Dinner special rolls -Kitchen appetizers The appetizers include: -Baked salmon, baked crab meat -Spring rolls -Shrimp and veg tempura -Crab rangoons -Butter garlic seafood -Chicken Thai red curry There is a no-waste policy notice around the buffet area and a "reminder" notice handed to customers with the menu(s). Be sure to read this carefully before ordering so you won't have surprise charges for wasted food!! I've dined at AYCE sushi places enough to know my capacity, which is pretty high lol. Starting 8/12/24, they will start a new "a la carte & beyond" ordering style every Monday-Friday only. They do have lunch specials including any rolls or bento boxes every Monday-Thursday. Reasons for 4 stars instead of 5: -The rolls were so large and not tightly wrapped, and they were unevenly cut....both of these issues made it slightly hard to eat the sushi in one bite without it falling apart or having to cut into half. -The entire party needs to either agree on the regular AYCE or deluxe AYCE, they give zero flexibility of breaking it up. -The hand-written sign(s) are a bit unprofessional/aggressive given that it is a brand new restaurant. Would I return? Yes, if I'm in the area and have one of my insane sushi cravings.

Located inside the mall near the entrance across Los toltecos. Buffet regular price is $27.95 +$12 if you opt in for sashimi and crab legs. Weirdly similar to oishi sushi in vienna. Plastered all over the wall are their waste policy and other reminders. The buffet was underwhelming. Rolls u order through the waitstaff with an iPad. I ordered tuna and I'm not sure if what I ate was tuna. DRINKS are not included in the price. Quality is mediocre. AMBIANCE is like being in a fast food joint.

A great addition to Dulles Town Center! Sushi King is the best AYCE sushi I've had. They have lots of options, service is fast, and the sushi is pretty good. Not to mention they have a large selection of other options like dessert, noodles, katsu, gyoza and more. The restaurant is quite large. There is a buffet area lining the inner wall with plenty of options. I was a big fan of the yakitori chicken and hibachi chicken. I had so much sushi I can't even remember what I had but I enjoyed them all. You should check out sushi king while it's still hot, and take advantage of their 20% off special for their first month.

Can't beat the value of this place. Because they had just had their grand opening, the meal was 20% off. All of the fish was super fresh and delicious. I mean - seriously you can't beat the price. We went at 4pm so there were not many people. The music is a little irritating, but that's fine. They have a hot food bar, and the tempura, miso, etc are pretty good. The sushi is also very good- make sure to order as you eat so you're not sitting and waiting for your next order. The waitress was also very attentive and kind. Overall super good- will be returning!

All You Can Eat Sushi for $27.95 (+$12 gives you unlimited sashimi & crab legs). The restaurant is located at the main entrance of the Dulles Mall, near the cheese cake factory. From 6/29~7/29, they are giving 20% discount for dine in customers. This place was clean and organized. It is a combination of buffet and regular restaurant. You can grab some appetizer from the buffet area and order items through your server. We grabbed some fried veggies, steamed mussels, salmon seaweed salad, crab Rangoon while waiting for our main dishes. We ordered Rock shrimp, coconut shrimp, peppered tuna, peppered salmon, chicken katsu, and special rolls. Food was delivered at once - this might be a reason why some dishes weren't hot when we got them. Overall quality of food was about 4 out of 5. Crazy tuna roll was great! Rock shrimp was good too! Sweet tea, however, didn't taste good at all. Normally, the ice cream selection is very limited when you go to all you can eat place. Not here! The ice cream section was my favorite part! Absolutely love it! Our server was attentive and friendly. Given the fact that they just opened, we will come back and give it another try.

decided to try Sushi King after we stopped by the mall for the train ride. it was not busy at all when we arrived at 5:30 PM for dinner. we were immediately seated & given the run down on how AYCE works at the restaurant. for an extra $12, you will receive unlimited crab legs and sashimi. we opted to do the regular AYCE & one beef noodle soup (limited to one per person & is included in your AYCE). we ended up ordering: salmon avocado 18 pieces of salmon nigiri 6 masago 6 yellowtail 2 tuna 2 white tuna 6 California roll 2 unagi I don't recommend the white tuna - had a weird....mushy? texture. thought I was going to be sick after eating it. was not good. the salmon was delicious. the masago was good & yellowtail as well. my only complaint was that the rice kept falling apart & would not stay. my daughter ended up eating 12 pieces of salmon at least & 3 popsicles so I think we kind of got our money's worth. the buffet food did not look very appealing. she did not like the noodles from the buffet. the coconut shrimp was good - though it kind of tasted like the ones you could get from Costco. the salt & pepper shrimp was the favorite all around at the table. now, to the best part of any AYCE buffet. dessert! my daughter loved walking around grabbing all the sweets. she said the lychee Jello was her favorite & she ended up eating 2 strawberry melona bars & one bomb pop. I grabbed another 2 for my kids & my son ended up taking the green one and started bolting towards the front door! the managers by the front area had a good laugh out of it. all in all, this place reminded me of an upgraded version of Peter Pan honestly. for those who remember Peter Pan out in Fairfax, it's definitely less greasy here & much nicer. the food is a huge upgrade & for what you're paying for, it's decent.

If you find yourself stricken by hunger and are looking for something a little different, check out the Sushi King. I highly doubt you'd be disappointed; a more likely scenario is that you will have another establishment on your list moving forward. Great place and quality food. ATMOSPHERE: Welcoming and relaxed. A place to unwind on your own or bring the family - equally entertaining. This establishment is tastefully decorated and inviting. Pride at every level - even the restrooms were well kept and stocked. STAFF: I was greeted with a smile from the start. This is my first time coming to the Sushi King, and I walked away utterly impressed. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. They took the time to explain their structure and pricing. Thank you, Evy, for your patience and for giving great service. Wonderful and friendly at every level, from servers to owners. FOOD: A buffet style experience with sushi rolls! What a combination! The food was flavor packed, and my taste buds screamed for more! They offer both simple and complex menu items, each sure to quench your appetite.

Deluxe option with AYCE steamed crab legs and sashimi.

The food and the service is always great here. For us it's worth the 45 minute drive. The staff is very attentive and the sushi/sashimi is fresh, with a lot of made to order options. The hot and cold bar have a great variety. And, who can turn down unlimited ice cream and Melona for dessert. I can't seem to find much room for the unlimited boba and milk teas, but they are also available. The prices have gone up a bit for the deluxe option with crab legs, but the crab is always steamed to order.

$27?!! This was awesome!! But let me just say... the pizza/nuggets/tots.. don't touch those unless they are FRESH out of oven cause they were cold and dry lol. Regardless, there was so much to choose from and I might of ate too fast with all the options. You get a menu to order from which has 80% of the options then two buffet sections (I saw them as appetizers). Staff are really friendly and place looks pretty nice! It didn't look like the sushi bar was open to seating (yet?) but that didn't take away from the rest of our experience! I do wish they labeled the frozen dessert instead of it being mixed all in there and no actual ice cream options (was sandwich and popsicles).

Overall, it was pretty tasty. Nothing outstanding, but maybe my taste buds weren't functioning. It was not bad overall, and was filling as I hadn't a proper breakfast even. I would rate it 7/10. Not bad, and the cost for dine-in was a little over $20, which wasn't bad but not cheap either. For the service, I'll give it a pass. The food was ok - the chicken and shrimp were done well, but our medium steak request came out well done and underseasoned; the same was true for the mushrooms and chicken fried rice (usually delicious). The filet, in particular, was pretty tasteless without the dipping sauce and very tough; definitely wasted the more expensive cut of meat with that preparation. In addition, we felt like we were being rushed out as soon as the grill was turned off - pressed for whether we wanted carry out containers while we were still eating. We also realized on the way out that we weren't offered the ice cream at the end of our meal that came with it. Definitely didn't feel welcomed. (And for some unknown reason the restaurant cancelled my reservation while we were en route, as I saw in my email after we ate). Finally, unlike other locations I've been to, I was surprised that they charged extra for mustard sauce (much preferred to the mayo-based yum yum sauce) and to have the fried rice be spicy. Seems a little nickel and dime when you're already paying $50-60 per meal. We drove out of our way to go here and would not do it again. I think we would have had a much better experience at Texas Roadhouse or the like.

I read my last review of this place over 2 years ago and chuckled. Even back then (just coming out of covid) I was complaining about these same things - price increase and shrinkflation. And to think I thought $22 for 2 teriyaki chicken meals was too much! This weekend I paid $19 for ONE, count 'em ONE, chicken teriyaki meal, granted with double meat. What in the world was I complaining about 2+ years ago, amiright?! lol Then why keep coming here, you ask? Well, sometimes you have to cave in when the teriyaki craving hits you. We come out to the mall eatery when we're in the area running errands. The eatery has surprisingly rebounded and appears to be reconstituting its offerings although the mall itself, post-covid, remains a sad and sorry shell of its former self. #sadface Back to Sarku...No complaints at all about the taste, freshness and quality of the teriyaki chicken. A container full of sizzling, piping hot and fresh grilled meat right from watching it get expertly grilled right before your own eyes - CAN'T GET MORE FRESH THAN THAT. The "chef" working the grill honestly is a pro. We remember him when he first started wayyyyy back in the day (well before covid) - "apprenticing" under the prev "chef". This guy is good - he apprenticed well lol. He's fast, efficient and knows how to crank out multiple orders at once. Frankly, he single-handedly keeps this place running like a top. (Give this guy a raise....or part ownership of the business because he's the one keeping this place alive and kicking.) So, NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL WITH SARKU'S FOOD QUALITY. Our go-to order now is to order 1 ENTREE WITH DOUBLE MEAT. It's definitely a better deal and IT'S ENOUGH FOR 2 PEOPLE TO SHARE - especially if you're not ravenous. Check out my pic and vid of our double meat order. You'll see what I mean. ANOTHER TIP: no matter that we no longer frequent this place much anymore (due to how expensive it's become for "fast food"), we still keep a FREQUENT DINER CARD on hand and use it when we go/order - it's worth getting a free entree for every 6 you order - so if you're not doing that (especially if you do go here regularly or order multiple entrees in a single visit), get a card from the cashier and start getting your entrees stamped and earning a free meal. The cards never expire and are not location specific so even better if you frequent different Sarku locations. As I said, we don't go out of our way to go to this Sarku or any other location because of how pricey it is. Sarku has continued to steadily jack up their prices AND have made their containers smaller and smaller and smaller (so they can make you feel like they've generously stuffed your box full of food - clever! ...not). Their other menu items might be better value but I seriously doubt it and I don't think I would trust sushi made at a fast food carryout joint anyway. So, for all these reasons, we only go when we're in the area of the mall AND have a craving for teriyaki chicken.
