    Flight of coffees
    Toby M.

Good coffee and warm atmosphere. Interior is very small but well designed with a blend of modern, traditional and artistic touches (refer you to the bowler hat light fixtures!). We had a flight of coffees [macchiato, espresso, cortado, and americano]. Americano was cold : ( Espresso was very strong which I really like but may not be for everyone. Macchiato and cortado were good. Service was good. Store is clean and tidy.

Excellent craft lattes. One of the best I've had. Creamy. They use real caramel. Outstanding craft coffee. Offers oat milk and milk alternatives.

Amazing drinks, fair prices, great staff, and just the cutest atmosphere. Can't recommend this place enough!

We stopped in for some morning fuel. The location is clean and inviting. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We ordered one of the specials, the S'mores latte. It was delicious. The croissants were flaky and quite tasty. Overall I'd definitely recommend a stop in.

3.5 I never pass up a chance to get a lavender latte so I got one iced. It was okay. There was a subtle hint of lavender and the rest tasted a lot more like milk than coffee. What I liked more was the ambiance. It's a relatively small space with a lot of people coming in and out but I stayed a little bit to work. There are tables and high tops and the Wi-Fi was pretty strong. They also had outlets where I was sitting so it was great to just get some work done while I was waiting for a conference to start.

Amazing coffee, the signature lattes and drinks are what sets this place apart. The Taj Mahal is one of the best drinks I have ever had. Great vibes on the inside, people both working and just hanging out. Staff is very friendly and know their stuff - every drink has been great.

A busy coffee shop in downtown Raleigh across from Moore Square. It took me about 30 minutes to take this picture of the counter since it was so busy. I ordered a hot mocha and it was creamy and sweet. I like the ambiance of the coffee shop, but beware, there is very little seating.

Great coffee shop downtown Raleigh and in a great location. Good amount of seating inside and some outdoor seating and lots of natural light coming in from the many windows to enjoy your drink and people watch. Overall a quiet place to get some work done or just hang out. They have a nice selection wines, coffees and teas here, so whatever you are in the mood for and the customer service is always very good.

Friendly staff, delicious tea and coffee, and decent prices! Great location too. The inside was quiet and clean. My peach tea was the perfect sweetness and so flavorful!

The coziest little spot. Delicious hot chocolate & coffee. The perfect spot to relax, get some work done or read. I decided to explore downtown Raleigh & my friend recommended this spot. It did not disappoint. I spent hours here at peace reading a new book & sipping on drinks.

(4.5 stars) Named for a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy reference (and for local roaster Larry Larson), it is perhaps somewhat fitting that this gem of a coffee shop has become our annual post-GalaxyCon caffeinate-and-cool off destination. While it boasts a sleek modern ambiance and welcoming staff, the biggest draw can be summed up in two words: coffee flights. With options including nitro cold brews, draft lattes, and more, this is a great way to sample a bit of everything and still get your caffeine fix. They are my wife's go-to order while I usually opt for one of the seasonal drinks. The orange creamsicle I tried during our most recent visit isn't something I would repeat, but I do credit them for trying out a variety of syrups and flavors. There are plenty of coffee shops in Downtown Raleigh, but if you can abide by the limited seating, 42 and Lawrence offers all the strong coffee, inventive flavorings, and charm that you need.

This is still my to-go spot for a nice cup of coffee or tea in downtown Raleigh. Seasonal menu always has something new, it's definitely my favorite part. I just tried iced strawberry matcha latte and I'm obsessed! Lovely non-sweet matcha flavor blends so well with strawberry sweetness, yum. Definitely would order it again!

    Americano, Latte, cinnamon roll
    Helen M.

Had a hard time finding 42 and Lawrence but was pleasantly surprised once inside! Interior is modern and harsh looking with minimal seating, doesn't have the warm, cozy coffee shop vibe I usually seek which is why I docked one star. Also had free WiFi. Service was great, drinks were brought to our table and they even warmed up the cinnamon roll we ordered. Most importantly, the drinks and cinnamon roll were great! Americano was bold and flavorful. Seasonal autumn breeze latte had notes of gingerbread and cinnamon. The unexpected highlight was the cinnamon roll-- didn't look like a conventional cinnamon roll but tasted amazing heated up.

The chocolate brownie is thick and rich, but not too sweet, and the marshmallow cream is divine, especially with the ice cream. A lot of their drinks and gin based, which I'm not the biggest fan of, but I always find something I can enjoy. The service is great and relatively quick, and everyone I've met there is kind and willing to help. The inside is a bit small, so smaller crowds are better and it does tend to get crowded later in the evening and on weekends. The outside street sitting area is nice too and hopefully will be fully fixed soon. Overall a great places to stop for drinks and desserts after a nice meal! And the menu rotates seasonally so you'll always have the chance to try something new!

We were honestly a little overwhelmed by all the options, but he gave us an extremely thoughtful and knowledgeable walk-through of the menu, helped us narrow down drinks, and absolutely crushed the recommendations. The desserts were great, the drinks were even better, but Brandon was easily the highlight of our experience. He was kind, helpful, sharp, and clearly knew exactly what he was talking about. Five stars all around. We'll definitely be back.

She has such a wonderful personality and knows her ice cream. I was one of the first to enjoy her Gluten free Coffee ice cream with chopped up chocolate-covered espresso beans throughout. Then George took the cup of this delicious ice cream and torched it for a brulee finish. Amazing, indescribable, and I will be back for more soon kind of flavors! I have since checked out her flavor options and kick myself for not visiting her shop soon over at Iron Works. It is so close to where we live in downtown Raleigh. No more excuses. We are heading there this weekend for a Valentine's Day treat of one of her many boutique flavors. Plus I love that Andia truly cares about the Gluten Free population and offers so many wonderful-sounding flavors for them.

They even have Lactaid, which is a thoughtful touch. Staff were really nice too. I tried a few flavors: the seasonal jelly doughnut (a bit too sweet for me) and the mango jalapeno margarita (sweet start with a spicy kick at the end). I ended up getting the ube though, and it was honestly one of the best ube ice creams I've ever had - super soft and creamy with bits of ube throughout, and the flavor was perfectly balanced, not too strong or too mild. Even in the dead of winter at 40 degrees, I'd still come back here for ice cream.
