OMG...what can I say about this experience. The waitstaff was stellar, the food was absolutely fantastic. Some of the must haves are below: TRIPLE CUT MISO BACON (GF) CREOLE CRAB CRAWFISH DIP Steaks Filet Ribcap Or Meatloaf CORN PUDDING Beignets with fresh fruit and Nutella

From start to finish, our experience at 401 Prime in Lancaster was nothing short of extraordinary. The atmosphere struck the perfect balance between elegance and cool--think rich textures, low lighting, and timeless tunes from Sinatra and Dean Martin floating through the air. I had the Wedge Salad, Corn Pudding, and the 8oz Barrel Cut Ribeye--and every bite was spectacular. The salad was crisp and flavorful, the corn pudding was pure comfort, and the ribeye was cooked to perfection, tender and bursting with flavor. Bird tried the Crab Stuffed Shrimp, Creamed Spinach, and The Thresher, and couldn't stop raving about them. The Cigar Cutter's Choice Old Fashioned was a standout--easily one of the best I've ever had, smooth and smoky in all the right ways. Our server, Heroly C, was friendly, attentive, and made the entire night seamless and enjoyable. If I had to mention one miss, it would be the 401 Special Steak Sauce--it tasted like straight ketchup mixed with Worcestershire. Not exactly what you'd expect at a place of this caliber, but thankfully the steak was so good it didn't need it anyway. If you're in Lancaster and looking for a place that delivers on food, drinks, service, and vibe--look no further. 401 Prime is doing everything right.

Great happy hour, food was tasty! Service at the bar was quick even while busy. Loved the ambiance, sexy with perfect lighting.

I made a reservation a few weeks ago for my boyfriend and my anniversary. The day before I received a call asking for the other persons name who will be dining with me so they could do something special for us. Fast forward to the next nice when we get to the restaurant, we open the menu and on the first page it said "happy anniversary" and had our names. Super cute touch!! We also got to keep that page of the menu and take it home with us. They started us off with lavender scented warm towels to wipe off our hands with was really nice ! We started off with the baked oysters Rockefeller , 10/10, I could have eaten another helping lol I got the filet mignon and my boyfriend got the ribeye , both could have been seasoned better but to be fair , I prefer a well seasoned steak so that's a me thing lol. Both were cooked perfectly to the temp that we wanted. We got asparagus and the crab Mac and cheese as a side and those were very flavorful as well. Arrive a little earlier to have time for parking since street parking is hard to come by and the garage is a little bit of a walk It was a little noisy as we say next to a larger party but overall I would 100% recommend this place to anyone who is looking for somewhere nice to celebrate or if they want a next level experience

Our reservation was for 6:45 and we had no issue finding street parking in Prince Street. Since is was after 6pm on a weeknight the parking was free. We went to celebrate my husband's birthday during Lancaster City Restaurant week. That was good timing for us because he ordered off their special prix fixe menu. He ordered bacon, the filet, and the chocolate skillet. Both the bacon and dessert were large enough to share. I had the scallops. I thought the scallops were tasty, but my personal preference would be less mushrooms. The sauce was flavorful, but too rich for me. The amount of rich food I ate was enough to make me second guess my choices...next time I will not order the scallops or eat any of my husband's bacon. I ate only 1/2 of the scallop dish-I picked out the scallops and still had a lot of sauce and mushrooms remaining. The popovers were delicious and the lavender towels a nice touch. Our server Allie was great. 10 out of 10 service. The decor and ambience is also fantastic. I am only giving it 4 stars because I didn't love my meal. I am sure that's just me...others shouldn't hesitate to order the scallops.

Anniversary dinner recently at 401 Prime was not the best. For a very expensive bill ($400+), 401 didn't deliver at that price point. The ambiance was lovely, but the meal did not deliver. Best part was miso bacon appetizer but my husband felt it was very heavy for an app. Steaks were in no way worth the price. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. Sadly, we won't be returning for our next special occasion night out. Lancaster has better options.

WOW. JUST WOW. From the moment we walked in the door to our very last bite this experience was exactly what we needed and more. My husband and I came up to the area for a little weekend anniversary getaway. We wanted to have a nice upscale dinner but aside from one other spot we didn't know of many. After some searching we stumbled across 401 Prime. We could only get an 8:30 reservation which we'd normally never do, but we knew we weren't going to get in anywhere else that we considered to be a nice romantic dinner so we kept it. Thank goodness. Our server Joseph was INCREDIBLE. He took us through a detailed walk through of the menu, mentioning key items and ingredients, the origins of certain cuts of meats, and preparation style notes. He asked us if we wanted lime, cucumber, or lemon for our water, and we were handed a tablet with an extensive wine menu which Joseph noted the chef and owner ( or bartender?) are sommeliers and hand crafted the wine list. We went with cocktails, opting for a Paloma for me and an autumn mule for my husband. We were informed the drinks could be made as mocktails as well. Both drinks were phenomenal. We were also brought a little hand towel that Joseph poured hot lavender water on top. We started with the thick cut miso bacon. It was melt in your mouth delicious with a smoky sweetness. We were also brought popovers as the bread service and I snuck in a piece of the bacon between a piece of a popover and it was heavenly. We split the autumn salad with came filled with fresh figs, goat cheese, and walnuts with a maple vanilla dressing that was equal parts light and decadent. For our entrees my husband did the rib cap and I did the filet and crab cake special with bernaise. We ordered our steaks medium and Joseph came back to check and make sure the temperature was good. While they were slightly under medium, they were so tender and delicious. The crab cake was all lump crab meat. Zero filler. For our sides were did the potatoes au gratin, which was rich and cheesy, and the brûléed corn pudding. The corn pudding was like dessert and we loved it. Speaking of dessert, I was insanely full but my husband wanted to try the warm Chocolate butterscotch bread pudding. Joseph brought me vanilla ice cream with a sparkler to commemorate our anniversary and it was a wonderful ending to a fantastic dinner. To top it off, instead of mints, four little almond cookies were brought with the check. If you're familiar with Italian pignoli cookies, this is them without the pine nuts. 401 Prime is incredible for a special occasion. Do NOT hesitate to make a reservation.

A hidden gem , I can't believe this place is in Lancaster PA. The wife took me here for my birthday and I was in awe. This place was vibrant and very elegant. The food was chefs kiss. The staff was very nice and attentive. The Mac n Cheese was to die for. Wagyu steak was butter on a fork. Cant wait to go back.

My best Lancaster dining experience hands down. Was lucky enough to snag a gorgeous private room. They make sure the meal is an experience start to finish. Starting with the lavender hand towels and delicious popover bread with incredible butter, we knew we were in for something good before we even ordered. Not to mention that they bring you 3 types of salt, and let you know which pairs best with each dish, and they do pair wonderfully. Everything we ordered was delicious, see the photos below to see the wonderful presentation. Lastly, service was quick and friendly. We were absolutely stuffed by the end of the meal, but would absolutely come back for what looks like a delicious dessert selection. Go here. That's all I have to say.

The all male bartenders provided fantastic service, if you happened to be a scantily clad woman; me like all the other guys waiting at the bar were left waiting for sloppily poured drinks for most of the night. The night ended in the classiest way possible, with a shooting. outside of Penn Square.

The atmosphere, the food and the staff at the Rendezvous are excellent. To add to the atmosphere was the music which I learned was actually streaming the bartenders iPod via Pandora Internet radio. This was music to my ears (pun intended). I believe that the good music can be as important as pairing wine or drinks with food and Ashley had it dialed in. While at the bar I ordered a Kettle One Martini with a lemon twist. The drink was delivered and look liked any other martini but then I took a drink. The martini was very smooth and the lemon twist was incredible. In fact it may have been the best Martini I ever had. If you are looking for a great atmosphere, great service and possibly the best Martini's you'll ever have then make it a point to visit Ashley at the Rendezvous lounge. I should mention something about the food since I did eat 3 meals there. Of course the Martini's were a big draw but the food is equally good. Over the 3 nights that I dined at the Rendezvous Lounge I had roasted pears and Brie Quesadilla, Wedge Salad with thick cut bacon, Chesapeake Blue Crab Bisque, Central Market Salad with goat cheese and cranberries and their seared tuna. All of which were presented nicely and tasted wonderful. I recommend any of these small plates depending on what your in the mood for. I look forward to my return visit to the Marriott at Penn Square and the Rendezvous Lounge. I hope to hear Pandora, see Ashley and enjoy some of the other fabulous creations at the Rendezvous.

Check the on street parking kiosk for prices/hours. There is a huge staircase to get up to the speakeasy once you find the red door. The website says there is an elevator if needed. Once inside, you will immediately get the speakeasy vibe with the moody and dark decor, as well as the period appropriate lighting and seating options. There's some small intimate areas, as well as a main bar, a side seating bar area, and a back area with tables and chairs. I would recommend reservations. You can pick the bar or lounge when making reservations on their website. From the moment you enter, you will get terrific service. The host was great and we were early for our reservation, but we were seated at the bar as requested. As soon as we sat down, the bartender greeted us with waters and a sample of a bourbon punch. The entire visit was filled with very attentive staff who were always friendly and knowledgeable about the offerings on the menu. The drinks are well thought out and very good. The quality of the ingredients, as well as the flavor profiles work well. It is very difficult to pick from their crafty menu. We tried a total of 4 drinks and all were delicious. Highly recommend the Papucho - such an excellent mix of flavors that are well balanced and a very unique flavor. Honestly, not sure you will find one drink on this menu that isn't delicious. They do offer a menu of various foods. We ordered the octopus and the roasted monk fish. Both were fantastic. The servings are not big so be prepared to order dental dishes or just come with the intention of not getting a massive meal. They are good portions for a small dinner or think tapas. Our server was amazing (I wish I remembered his name!), the food was delicious, and the drinks never fail to impress. The only issue we have every time we go is that they unfortunately always run out of a few dishes on the menu (and always seems to be the ones we want)! In addition, calling the restaurant has been difficult, it has often gone straight to voicemail for me. For that reason make sure to make reservations ONLINE (that has never failed). Come EARLY if you want to ensure you'll get a menu item (we often get there around 8 pm or later, some menu items always run out for us). Regardless, this doesn't stop us from coming!

I am so disgusted that I even gave this place my energy. We had a reservation for 8:45. We were greeted by skip and he automatically gave me horrible vibes. You could tell he was highly intoxicated. Skip willingly confirmed that he "knocked back 4 drinks". Being that we had a reservation days in advance, I expected a table appropriate enough to fit my party of 6. Instead, Skip put 3 small circle tables together to accommodate us. It was very uncomfortable. It was a little chilly so my husband asked Skip if we could get a table with a heater to which Skip drunkenly called my husband a pus*y. I was completely mind blown. He also wanted us to pay him extra as a tip to get a more accommodating table still without a heater. We decided to get up and leave and go to the exchange. I respectfully told off Mr. Skip to which he responded sarcastically with "thank you for coming in tonight". He ruined my entire night. I was so angry and it was my last night on one of my favorite vacations. Skip, if you're reading this, you should really inquire with a local rehab. And to the owners, you should be ashamed for keeping this poor excuse of a welcoming committee at your establishment where people are paying decent money for an enjoyable experience. To anyone reading this, just make the reservation at the exchange.

I say surprising because my first reaction was disappointment at the small size of the menu. Once we decided to roll with it and take a recommended path of sharing several small plates, it turned into one of those meals that reminds you why you go out to eat in the first place. We ordered several elevated small plates, but the standout was the crispy rice with spicy tuna. It was flawless. The rice base was perfectly golden and crunchy on the outside with just enough tenderness inside. On top, the spicy tuna was fresh, buttery, and beautifully balanced -- not overly mayo-heavy, not overly spicy -- just clean, bright flavor. The drizzle underneath added a subtle creaminess that tied everything together without overpowering the texture. Every bite delivered contrast: warm and crisp against cool and silky, with little pops of sesame and microgreens adding dimension. It felt thoughtful, refined, and executed with real attention to detail. Pair that with the rooftop atmosphere -- polished but relaxed -- and the whole experience felt elevated without being pretentious. If this dish is any indication, The Exchange understands how to take something familiar and make it memorable.
