Black bean pizza

Going for convenience before a movie.Didn't expect that good here. Expectations exceeded. Good food. Black bean pizza was spicy and tasty. The pork queso was so good my husband couldn't stop eating it. $3 happy hour drafts. Yes please. Patio. Board games. Very chill. Just right service. We will return.

400 Rabbits Bar lives up to it's name serving an impressive list of Mezcal and tequila. The decor is swanky with black plush booths lining the wall, black walls with gold accents and dimly lit (well, at least after sunset). The place is pretty small but there is some room for patrons to stand. The menu items are on the expensive side. We ordered the senoran hot dog which is bacon wrapped dog, grilled with green Chile salsa, beans, pickled onions, jicama, tomato, cilantro mayo, cotija cheese on a bolilo bun. The bacon could have been crisper but overall I enjoyed the flavors of chilies and cilantro mayo but in my opinion not worth $9. The senoran dog was served with a generous portion of chips with delicious warm salsa. The draw here is the Mezcal and tequila which can be purchased by itself or as flights with a small glass of I believe sangrita or tomato juice. Note that the Mezcal flight is $30 and consists of 3 - 3/4 ounce servings. When I consume tequila or Mezcal, my evil twin tends to make an appearance. And no one likes her, I promise. With that said I tried one of their specialty cocktails, the Lester Burnham. This light refreshing drink is definitely an acquired taste. It consists of gin, San Pelegrino Limonita, rose water, prosecco and candied rose petals. Jesse ordered the Manhattan. Although the drinks were pricey they were STRONG making it justifiable. After a couple drinks here you will leave a drunken rabbit. Besides the drinks we enjoyed, they have an extensive specialty cocktail list along with beer and wine. I would definitely grab a drink here before/after watching a movie at this Alamo but I will likely skip the food next time.

Love the bar and decor of it, and was really suprsied by it. Service was very good. You can order full dinner menu as well as they have an app. menu and of course a ton of drink options. They do have patio seating as well.

If you don't drink, don't bother eating here. It is easy to pick a better restaurant in the area, there are a number of them.

Oasthouse - Fried Cheese Curds

We really enjoyed Oasthouse! I've been there twice now - once with work and once as a family…read more There are plenty of places to sit inside and out. Outside there's a cute playground, gated, for the younger kiddos. Perfect for those who want to keep the kids occupied but also enjoy a snacky snack and a drink. There are plenty of gluten free options, and we ended up getting the Yardbird Chicken Sandwich on a gluten free bun, a complimentary Reuben sandwich on a gluten free bun, fish and chips, and a burger for the kiddo. All of them were great! Hubby enjoyed the fish and chips and the spray bottle with malt vinegar! Such a fun touch, nice and crispy, and the chips were crunchy and delicious. I actually really liked my chicken sandwich. While it looks standard, it was such a good bite, super filling, and since gluten free, I got a side salad which was nice and simple and light. The Reuben was GREAT! I was so excited I could have it since on a gluten free bun. The corned beef wasn't super greasy or heavy or too salty which I really appreciated, and the aioli was great to balance out all other parts of the sandwich. The slaw, pickles, everything were all so good, and definitely worth getting in the future! And our kiddo demolished the burger in a heartbeat! Add some great service - super kind, funny, and made me feel so safe eating there with an allergy. He was great, and even though he was busy, he did such a great job coming and checking in! We also had a pint of Lazarus Rice Lager which has been treated and is consumable for those with a gluten allergy (not Celiac)! I love Lazarus beers so much, especially this rice lager! So light and perfect on a hot day! We would definitely come back any time! Defintely worth the stop!

My family and I decided to go to the Oasthouse for lunch while my son was visiting for Spring…read moreBreak. We easily parked and walked in. We waited about 5-7 minutes before someone came to greet us at the hostess station. After greeting us she seated us. Once we were seated we waited awhile before she came back with menus and she took our drink order. After a few minutes she brought us our waters and took our order. The hostess/waitress was really busy but despite that she did an excellent job taking care of us. For our starters we shared two items. The Carnitas Poutine which comes with fries, pulled pork, cheese, jalapenos and red onions. This was really good. The pulled pork mixed with the other ingredients was filling and could be a meal on its own. We also shared the fried cheese curds. They came with a tomato sauce and a buttermilk sauce that you could dip your curds in. These were really good when they came out. The cheese was nice nice and stretchy and the exterior wasn't very crunchy but added texture. Both sauces were good and each had a distinct flavor. For our main meal we all shared a bowl of the Truffle Fries. They aren't on the menu but the waitress told us that if you request them the chef can make them. They were really good fries. My husband and son both ordered the Southwest Pimento Burger which comes with beef, pimiento cheese, jalapenos, a tostada, corn relish, and aioli. They said that the burger was really good. I ordered the Harvest Burger cooked Medium. It comes with beef, cabbage, apple jam, aioli and cheese. I ordered mine with swiss cheese instead of cheddar cheese. The burger was delicious. It was cooked perfectly. I could taste all of the combined ingredients and really liked the sweet and salty flavor of it. It was just balanced so well. Overall Oasthouse is a good lunch spot. The service was good despite the waiting plus they have a variety of starters and delicious burgers.

Imagine Lala's feels like a chill, comfy neighborhood bar where you can actually enjoy yourself, and the ambiance, and have a conversation with whoever you came with, instead of a tourist clogged beehive? Because BOOM that's Lala's South Pole. I'm not even a big Christmas person, and I am smitten. Charming, quite, festive. It feels like a hidden gem. I probably shouldn't be reviewing it so it can stay that way, but no one like a gatekeeper. Also, absolute baller pizza from Brooklyn Pie Co. I had to really talk myself down from going back the next night just for more pizza. The service is... well what you would expect from a "trendy" Austin dive bar, as in... None, but that's part of the charm kind of? I've actually tried a lot of new pizza places lately and this is what stands out in my mind. Drinks wise? It's a bar. They serve you alcohol. Nothing special, but nothing wrong with it either.
