They add "tajin" and it's spicy so beware if you like plainer sangria
    Holly T.

Very authentic Mexican food nestled in a small strip mall- easy and free parking. What a nice find! The margaritas were good but the sangria had an unexpected ( and not listed ) ingredient- spicy tajin. I don't like spice and I didn't care for the seasoning. Kinda ruined the sangria I was expecting just fyi. The food was good and authentic- loved the quesadillas!! Our young server was lovely, and artwork on the walls were for sale and very good.

    Queso Flameado and Salsa

We went before heading to a show downtown. There is parking on site. The atmosphere is very casual. The frozen margaritas are really good. They are served in metal cups and stayed chilly the whole time we were there. The salsa is really great and has just the right amount of kick. We had the queso flameado. It is served with tortillas. Don't get this confused with classic queso, which is thinner and meant for chips. This is thick, cheesy, and oh so good! I could honestly eat it with a spoon. The staff is attentive and were prompt with our food. They do have Tequila tasting events quarterly, I believe, so I am hope to catch one of those events sometime!

The queso tasted like the normal store bought Velveeta and it was 9 dollars for a small to meduim size. The to go drink was roughly the size of a solo cup for 14 dollars. And the price was a little steep, even if it was good Mexican food.

First time visit for me and I had a pleasant experience. I stopped by with a friend for dinner on Thursday and to our surprise, there was live music - what a treat! It doesn't look much from the outside but it certainly has its charm - cute and cozy with polite staff. This location appears to be a local favorite as it was packed. As soon as a table became available, it was quickly filled with another party of guests. Everything ordered was delicious and we saved room for dessert - you must try the cuatro leches! Overall solid experience - worth the trip if you're new in town or visiting.

First because it is a neighborhood restaurant, we walked to dinner and my route was shorter than my wife's choice to the meal by 6 minutes. So my Mole Poblano Pork Shank with black beans & rice was extra good. I celebrated with the La Hecho's Margarita with Tequila of the Centenario on the rocks & salt. My young daughter managed to break her child proof cup of milk and the staff was quick & attentive. The place after all these years still has the mojo for tasty authentic dishes.

First time trying this place the other day with the husband. It's a cozy lil restaurant that is clean with an inviting aroma. Chips and Salsa - good thin chips. The salsa served on a spoon which was cute. This salsa tasted of dried chilis, not what I am used to but good none the less. I ordered the cheese enchiladas with verde sauce. I love the cheese they used in it, warm and gooey. The verde sauce had a great flavor - just wished they were more sparing with it. The husband got the Beef tacos which he enjoyed a lot. The rice was light and fluffy and seasoned well which was nice. The refried beans, a bit on the bland side though. We had good customer service and a pleasant experience. We will be back for sure.

Service was good but the food was nothing special yet still expensive. They add a convenience fee to your bill for no reason as well.

Good margaritas. Free chips and salsa. Friendly service. They have a few tables outside that are pleasant when the weather is amenable.

Imagine Lala's feels like a chill, comfy neighborhood bar where you can actually enjoy yourself, and the ambiance, and have a conversation with whoever you came with, instead of a tourist clogged beehive? Because BOOM that's Lala's South Pole. I'm not even a big Christmas person, and I am smitten. Charming, quite, festive. It feels like a hidden gem. I probably shouldn't be reviewing it so it can stay that way, but no one like a gatekeeper. Also, absolute baller pizza from Brooklyn Pie Co. I had to really talk myself down from going back the next night just for more pizza. The service is... well what you would expect from a "trendy" Austin dive bar, as in... None, but that's part of the charm kind of? I've actually tried a lot of new pizza places lately and this is what stands out in my mind. Drinks wise? It's a bar. They serve you alcohol. Nothing special, but nothing wrong with it either.

We were a little lost when we first arrived because the door is quite subtle, but fortunately someone else was also entering. Our servers were all very friendly and we were seated by the manager. I highly recommend making a reservation--the only reason we got in was because another reservation for 10:00 didn't show and it was almost 20 past! The drinks were good and they have a pretty solid list of "experimentals" as well as some themed drinks for the bar. I had the Daisy and an espresso martini and enjoyed both. All in all, I think this place is great for a 1:1 or coming with a small group of 2-4 people. And our receipt came inside of a book, which added to the quirkiness of the place. Would definitely come back!

We stayed for one round of drinks and left as we felt totally unwelcome due to this guys actions. Great place, but how do you run a business with rude staff like that. Also, two signature drinks, two glasses of wine shouldn't cost over $100.

Since my last review, I have been here multiple times and I still love it…read more I came here a lot for March Madness. There are so many TVs, there isn't a bad place to sit. There are booths, tables, high top tables, a few picnic styles bench tables, and a pretty large deck. They recently added a side deck. It would be nice if it was covered and then perhaps some lattice or other barrier to keep the Texas sun off your back! I've tried several things on the menu and I've enjoyed them all. I've seen other meals delivered and they all look great too. Today I popped in for a late lunch and lucky me it was still Brunch O'clock. I wavered between the chicken and waffles and the burger. I saw the burger being delivered to a nearby table and it immediately solidified my decision- burger!! I am a burger and fries "foodie". ;) I'm very picky about my burgers and have eaten some of the best burgers in town. It was delicious! The fries aren't my favorite but decent. The burger was perfectly cooked and so was the egg (breakfast burger). I'd definitely get that again! The bartenders are friendly and they are hard workers. This definitely is a place where their systems are intact. They all work together and get orders out quickly. I'm guessing the bartenders and the waitresses all pool their tips. They all hustle. I sit mainly at the bar so I can see their work effort. I've done that job before so I know how hard it can be.
