They took the time to properly diagnose a difficult water leak underneath the slab and explained what they found and what needed to be done. Rather than just putting a temporary fix in place, they rerouted the hot water lines to service half of the house and replaced the water heater. What really stood out was how carefully they worked and how well they communicated throughout the entire process. Jack clearly knows his trade, and Josh was attentive and knowledgeable as well. Reasonable, Honest, Professional and Courteous Plumber!…read more Over this past weekend on Saturday, Nov 11th, a neighbor alerted me to the fact that water was running down our driveway at a pretty high rate. I had hoped the issue was with sprinkler system, but sadly it was with our water main between the meter and our home. I spent most of Saturday afternoon and all-day Sunday trying to locate the leak in our yard with countless hours of digging. Finally, on Monday early afternoon Roto Rooter came out with specialized Sonar equipment to narrow in on the leak. They helped find a copper pipe (house side) and PVC pipe (yard side) that met under a poured concrete sidewalk to access our backyard. And then provided me an estimate of nearly $4000 to perform the repair, which would take approximately 3 hours. I just couldn't believe the price.... so, I turned them down. I spent the rest of Monday and most of Tuesday was focused on digging under the sidewalk to find the transition point between PVC and copper, which happened to be the point of failure. I also contacted two (2) different plumbers recommended by friends for estimates. One was willing to do the work at hourly rate and a fraction (less than a third) of Rotor Rooter but still pricey for what I knew needed to be done. The other was Dennis with Austin Area Plumbing. I called Dennis on Monday late afternoon, and he spent time with my on the phone hearing about my saga, the work I had done to uncover the leak, expose the pipes and reduce the repair work. He even looked at pictures I texted him to get a sense of the issue. In the end, Dennis said, the more you can do to minimize my work, the more it will save you. He was a man of his word! Dennis put my on his schedule for Wednesday around noon. On Tuesday, Dennis checked in with me on my progress and if I could still use his help, which I did. Finally, on Wednesday, he showed up promptly around noon with txt updates of his heading my way. Upon arrival, Dennis surveyed my preparation and acknowledged that I had done all the "HARD" work in digging and exposing the issue. He proceeded to cut out the damaged pipes, discuss the pros and cons of two options with me, and then proceeded with an agreed to plan-of-attack. We agreed to use PEX with copper-to-PEX fittings on the house side and PVC-to-PEX fittings on the yard side with a slightly bowed 1" PEX tube under the sidewalk to restore the water supply. After a little over an hour he was done, then we just had to wait for glue to cure and then test the repair. Finally, the moment of truth... water turned on and no leaks... Hooray! In the end, Dennis was the best option for us and the more reasonable price. I cannot thank Dennis with Austin Area Plumbing enough. He is a true saint! The reason I'm holding garden house plumbing company accountable is because they should, prior to the foundation work, check to see if they have what is needed for the hydrostatic plumbing test and quote how much it will cost if there is will a cost. With that making the home owner aware of how much to expect to pay and giving the opportunity to choose to continue with the foundation work or choose another contractor. When there is a condition to the test and that this condition voids the warranty the lack of transparency is a total disregard and disrespect with the consumer. Marco Munoz did a great job explaining but only provided this explanation of the hydrostatic plumbing test per my request after the foundation work was done and I found out I'd get no warranty for it. This should have been provided along with the contract since Douglas Foundation assigns then to do the testing. If they are a reputable company and respect their customers I hope they will stop doing business in partnership with crooked, dishonest Douglas Foundation repair.

When we began hearing a "gulping" sound coming from under our IPE wood deck in our backyard. We…read moreimmediately suspected it was being caused by a leak in the waste line that services the guest bathroom and zig zags through the yard to ultimately connect to the sewer line in front of the house, and knew this was an issue that required immediate attention. Unfortunately, our regular, trusted plumber was unable to schedule a repair for several weeks out and we were expecting company, who would be using that bathroom, the following week. After reading many online horrifying plumbing stories, we were wary of using a new plumber but knew we had to act fast. My call to another referral, after describing the problem, was met with an over-the-phone estimate of $2,500. Yikes! Despite being eager to get this repaired, I decided to get another estimate. Good Flow to the rescue! While they did have an initial charge to come out and provide a diagnosis and estimate, they told us it would be applied to the repair if they did the work. I called and spoke to Jessica in the office on a Thursday afternoon and their crew were here first thing Monday. Within less than 2 hours, they were able to carefully remove the 4 IPE wood boards, inspect the line, which had indeed become disconnected at a joint, repair it, replace the boards (undamaged) and pressure test it to ensure it wasn't leaking elsewhere - all for a very small fraction of what the other company had estimated. (I will add that we did have photos of the lines when they were installed before being buried and covered by the deck just in case we ever needed to locate them, so this helped; Good Flow told us to never lose these photos lol.) Good Flow was not only reasonably priced, they were professional, courteous and respectful. We are so grateful to have found these guys and won't hesitate to use them in the future.

We contacted Good Flow multiple times to have them return and finish the job. They scheduled a visit but never showed up, and subsequent calls and emails went unanswered. We eventually had another licensed plumber inspect the work, who confirmed that additional work was needed to properly complete the job. We reached out to Good Flow one final time in writing with the findings. We received no response. Issues can happen on a large plumbing job, but the complete lack of communication or effort to make things right is unacceptable. Unfortunately, we'll now have to pay another plumber to finish the work and cannot recommend Good Flow.
