Great Plumbers (and Pet Sitters) We have used Cold is on the Right plumbing several times in the past for routine work. This time we had a few small jobs to tackle (faucet replacement, garbage disposal replacement). I called and they said they'd have someone out the next day. It was not a rush at all, but every time we have used them it has always been that prompt. The price is always fair and the work is exceptional. Every plumber we have had has been friendly, and offers plumbing related tips and suggestions. This time was no different. Jack was our plumber this time. Super nice guy and very knowledgeable. We were completely satisfied with the work. An hour after he left though the call came. It was Jack. He said "something has happened that I have never had happen before". I thought, "certainly he has left a tool or something behind at our house". He then went on to say "I have one of your chickens". He had left the roll up door on his box truck open while working. We have free range chickens and apparently one of them wanted to check out his truck! Of course not expecting that, when he was done he secured the truck and went to his next job, which was an hour away. We were out of town by then and couldn't do anything. Jack said he had two jobs to finish but would drop the chicken back off afterward. Sure enough, several hours later (and no doubt an exciting adventure for the chicken) Jack dropped off the chicken, and took a photo of her back home. Yet somehow the story was still not over. An hour after that Jack texted again with a picture and said "I got an egg"!!!! Apparently she was so happy with her trip she left him what she could! She was back out the next day, hoping Jack would come back so she could ride along again! This company is first rate. Every time. I've had issues with my AC nearly every year, and used a different plumbing and air service each time to address repeated problems with my condensate drain line backing up. Matt from Cold is on the Right was the first technician to catch that I had a restriction in the refrigerant line through my wall and attic. The job became much more complicated, but their team was able to identify and replace every part of the old lines that were completely bent up inside the wall. Apologies for the long and complex job, but I'm very glad you were thorough with the diagnostics and took the time to identify the root cause of my issues. They also found that my AC unit was not properly wired to my thermostat to support 1st and 2nd stage cooling, which they were also able to fix during the other repairs. I tried to be ambitious and fix a shower faucet myself which was the wrong strategy! After making things worse and creating a leak I realized I needed to turn to a professional and fast. I called Cold is on the Right Plumbing and they answered my call immediately. The nice lady explained that she could have someone over to my house in an hour! I was shocked because it was Friday afternoon and I figured it would be the next day or possibly Monday at the earliest. Mike and John showed up in their very cool truck (what a great company name) and were both super friendly and knowledgeable. I liked how they entered the house with foot protection so my house stays clean. I also think it was great that they came as a team because one individual needed to be in the house troubleshooting and the other individual needed to turn on and off the water main. After about 20-30 minutes they came to realize that I needed a new faucet cartridge and unfortunately they did not have the part on the truck. This is understandable because there are so many different faucets available that they can't possibly stock everything. So the team was able to find the correct part at a nearby Home Depot and they drove to pick it up. Sure enough, the shower faucet worked again like new and they did a great job of mounting and caulking everything back together again. While they were here I also had them fix the bathtub faucet that never seemed to get hot and the master shower which they gladly fixed in about 10 minutes! My water heater died last Sunday. On Tuesday, I was able to get the Cold is on the Right guys to come take care of the problem. Not only did they replace the water heater, but they helped with 2 other unrelated issues: replaced mixer valves in two showers and a toilet quarter turn shut off valve. Really glad they did the toilet valve, as he said it just popped off in his hand and could have shot off the wall at any time. I have done business with several plumbers but never have I found them to not give a detailed account of there work in the bill. The estimate can lump all together but the bill should show parts, labor, travel, etc. I also found their charges unreasonable and misleading. If we called to find a leak I have to wonder why, after over $2,000, I am asked to pay over $7,000 to find it. I am not a plumber so the list of things the estimate showed seemed to me would, indeed, solve the problem. Misleading and overpriced. I called my regular plumber. Cold is on the Right is by far the best plumbing service in town. After the freeze of 2021 I had continues plumbing problems. Prior to Cold is on the Right I was dealing with a plumbing company who replaced my hot water heater but couldn't get my water pressure or hot water to work. They were unsuccessful for months. Eventually I fired them and hired Cold is on the Right. They figured the problem out immediately and cleared my lines out. It was still not an overnight process. But they communicated effectively, showed up on time, and we were able to troubleshoot the problem until all lines were clear and my plumbing issues were completely resolved. read more

I contacted CIOTRP to have a shut off valve replaced that fed the water heater in my mother's house. I said I didn't want any unexpected charges so I wanted a quote for the work. The plumbers go to my moms house and my mom calls me to say that they see the valve and wanted to check that there wasn't a cross over causing water to fill the heater when the valve was closed. A couple hours go by and I call my mom and it turns out she's paid them and they've already gone. My mom said that they crew checked for crossovers in the house 3 times. How much to replace a single cold water line ball valve? $329. I never got the quote I asked for and I do feel overcharged for a simple job where I asked for a quote up front and gave explicit instructions as to what I wanted done. I spoke with my mother (the homeowner) and she also felt the charge was excessive for the work completed. read more

Do yourself a favor and just go with Cold is on the Right. The first time I worked with them was when I found a leak in my water heater. I called and they were able to come out within a few hours. I was given an arrival window and received a text when they were 45 minutes away. They showed up, put together a detailed quote (received and paid electronically), and efficiently made the repair. These are real pros, and the fact that they work quickly is a testament to their skill and experience. They're also just good, friendly people. Bren and Mike were consummate professionals while also enjoying their work and keeping some good banter going the whole time. They noticed I was curious about what they were doing and went out of their way to explain, didn't mind me hanging around and asking questions, and even called me over to their truck (which was ridiculously clean; another reflection of their super high standards) to show me one of their cool tools. Another strong quality is their proactivity without pushiness. They saw my water heater was nearing the end of its service life and put together a quote for replacement with a range of options. I also asked a question off-hand about our high water pressure, they quickly grabbed a gauge to check it, and seeing it was very high at 100psi went to check my PRV. This is when an already superlative job went above and beyond, as seeing there was just dirt where the valve should be, they grabbed a shovel and started digging. And digging. It would have been completely reasonable for them to stop after the first foot and schedule a time to come back (it was also their last job at the end of the day on Monday, the only thing between them going home, and already done with what they had been scheduled and paid for) but these guys are incapable of cutting corners or leaving something unfinished. So after what must've been 30 minutes, the three of us sitting next to a comically large pile of dirt (that was put back without a trace) and about to breach the earth's mantle, they found my water line. No PRV or shutoff valve to be found. So they wrote up a quote to install both, and of course I hired them again for that. Eight months later, everything is holding up and working perfectly. If all you care about is quality of work, you won't find better plumbers. But there are a few other good reasons to hire them as well. They were quick to come out and quote multiple options to replace our water heaters with the traditional tank type heaters to upgrading to a tankless. We took the leap and went tankless, but were very disappointed in the 2 minutes it was taking for hot water to show up at the faucet. I had a toilet replaced by Cold is on the Right maybe a year ago. We bought our own toilet, which wasn't a problem for them. It took them a very short amount of time to install it. Last night our hot water heater went out. I called them this morning and they had two repair folks at my house in just a few hours. We recently tiled 3 second floor restrooms. Bought new toilets and requested installation. The house is 27 years old and one of the mounting seals needed replacing. I wanted no errors on this as 2nd floor restroom issue can ruin life on 2 floors. The team showed up and work completed in just over an hour. No trace. They even hauled off the giant new toilet boxes, trash, etc. The caulking job around each new unit is perfect and I tested for 3 days behind each with a Kleenex. Bone dry, zero leaks. Pretty disappointed - Called to have them reconnect an outdoor, disconnected air conditioning vent. A $99 booking fee was collected. Two days later, the service guys show up and I show them the vent. "Oh, that'll be $249, for labor plus time. We're looking at an hour!" I told him he came 6.5 miles according to Google Maps, and sweating the connection wouldn't take more than five minutes. Suddenly, the price was reduced to $199. I've never met a service guy who could change prices on the spot like that. Five minutes later, they were back at my front door asking for the full $199. I inquired about the $99 prepayment but they had no record of it. I got everything worked out with their office, but $199 for 13 miles of travel and 5 minutes to sweat a copper pipe? read more

Had a minor leak in a bathtub faucet and this company came to repair - they quoted $350 to fix. I asked how much was material vs labor and they said $50 material and $300 labor - so I asked how long the repair would take they said "1 hour" - so I asked if it's normal for a plumber to charge $300/hr. Seemed outrageous but wanted it fixed so agreed. 3 minutes later....yes 3 minutes later the work was done. So I paid $300 in labor for 3 minutes of work...will never use this company again because that is not how you treat people fairly. I understand a minimum labor charge for the trip but that should be $125-150 max. Giant rip off read more

I can't say enough about the professionalism and competence of Cold is on the Right Plumbers. I believe they are an honest company that stands behind their work (not a company that preys on people when disaster strikes). Beware of unscrupulous practices. We had an issue with a toilet, they came out and said that it was unfixable and had to replace the entire toilet, proceeded to give me an estimated of $900 for the job. I went to a plumbing store and bought the part and replaced it myself in under 20 minutes. The guy that came out CLEARLY was scamming me. The store I went to laughed at the comments and the estimate from Cold is on the Right. Such disgusting practices. Shame on you!!! read more

We had a toilet backup that we were unable to resolve ourselves. I called Cold is on the Right at 8:30am, and they were able to squeeze us in between appointments. Billy and Jack were here by 10am, asked all the right questions, removed the toilet, snaked the drain, reinstalled the toilet properly (it previously had not been), and were out the door by 11. I can't say enough good thing about my experience hiring Cold Is On the Right. Ryan at the office was very polite and got right back to me to answer my questions and was able to schedule me same day service. My PRV valve had gone out and the pressure to my house was crazy high.
