Their website was very navigable. I chose Ricky, a 'senior stylist' and he gave me an okay cut. The cut is nice, but I said that I wanted edgy and he gave me asymmetrical. Gia is my go-to hair girl for cut, color & style! Listen, I would say I am particular when it comes to my hair (some people would call me narcotic). I live for a natural color that looks like it just grew out of your head that way. Its hard to find a colorist who understands exactly the look you are going for, and even harder to find one with the patience to work with you to achieve it. Well, Gia is that girl! She always works with me to get the natural look I'm after- even when I get picky about the most minute detail. She never lets me leave the chair until I am 100% satisfied! I first saw Gia for color correction a few years ago. I went to another salon (big mistake) and my hair was SO Brassy. Gia was able to fix my hair in one sitting- leaving my fine hair healthy and strong to boot. I have long fine wavy hair with a lot of texture and the haircuts I receive from Gia are BY FAR the BEST I've gotten in my life. She understands my texture to always gives me an effortless lazy girl beach hair look. I've also had Gia style my hair for special events- she takes her time to understand the look you are going for, and how to achieve that look with your specific hair texture. I give this place 3 stars as every time I'm in there I have mixed feelings about it. The staff always seem slow to warm but once you get them going they are ok. Also they are always behind schedule and you end up waiting a whole 15-20 mins before your appointment starts. She is great at giving feedback/sharing her observations about your skin without coming off as being judgmental. LOVED my experience at 4 Elements!!! Yesterday, I went in for a facial with Kinga and a cut and color with Tim - every bit of the experience was fabulous. The staff is friendly, the salon is clean (and smells so awesome) and the day spa area is so inviting, I didn't want to leave! My face is still glowing today from Kinga's facial. She took the time to analzye my skin and she molded the facial to suit my personal needs which was so helpful. I was relaxed, my skin was invigorated and Kinga taught me so much more than I knew about my own daily skin care routine. My hair appointment with Tim was just as amazing. I tend to ignore my hair until the weekends when I just flat iron it to all hell and suffice it to say, my hair has definitely paid the price for my negligence. Tim not only cleaned my hair up with a simple, stylish cut, but the color he did was perfect. My hair looks more natural now and he somehow managed to fix my previously botched color job. He took the time to explain everything he was doing to my hair which was really helpful for someone as hair ignorant as me. Other amazing aspects of Tim's cut/color: the shampoo and hot towel treatment (to die for!!!) and a little styling lesson to boot! Be prepared for a more expensive salon experience but don't let that shy you away from 4 Elements. Agnes, the owner, explained all of the pricing so that I felt comfortable with what I was spending. She promptly replied to my email inquiries which I really value considering so many other salons are impossible to work with via email. This was my first time at the 4 Elements Salon. I felt the place was welcoming. I went there for my hair cut n hair color. Rebecca did a great job fixing up my messy hair n did a nice corrective color for the same. Although, she did goof up the color the first time as it didn't cover up my grey hair but towards the end she did a very nice job fixing everything up. She was friendly to talk too. She did an excellent job at blowdrying my hair n it looked as if I got a straightening done. I would definitely recommend her and this place to co Yelpers! Excellent spa services. I came here with a Groupon and received a facial, mani/pedi, and cut and blow dry and will be going back tomorrow for another facial and mani/pedi. While the spa services are wonderful, be warned that the customer service and front desk reception is UNPROFESSIONAL and RUDE. My friend tried to use her groupon here but had to re-schedule once. After many rude exchanges with the receptionist they refused to honor her groupon. Whatever happened to pleasing the customer? (Especially a first-time customer???) Similarly, when I called to make an appointment today I was put on hold for an eternity. When the receptionist finally picked up he was snappy and rushed me off the phone when I had a question about facial options. This does not reflect well on the salon and for me knocks it out of the luxury class of salon & spa services. That being said, if you can deal with an unprofessional front desk, the services are top notch. I have never had such a thorough AND relaxing facial before and the mani/pedi was beautiful. Found Joanna at 4-elements when I purchased a groupon last year in search of a new salon. By chance I was scheduled with her and have been coming back ever since. She listens really well and I am consistantly happy with the results. So happy I found this place! There are some free parking spots on the side streets otherwise there is always plenty of meter parking right outside. Such a difference from the last place I tried out. Ah I was just there yesterday, and I must say I had a great experience. I got a Yelp deal as a present and it was high time for me to go and fix my roots. I had senior stylist Maggie and she was really nice. Friendly, inviting, listened and did exactly what I wanted with my hair and was also quite timely. I was done within 3 hours, for full highlights and a haircut, which in many other places has taken nearly 5 hours sometimes...no joke. ... I am very happy with my hair, and I would go back for sure. I like Johanna. She has cut my hair three times now and has done what I asked for and more. I have long, very straight hair and wanted her to cut it so it curls a little on it's own or is easy to curl with rollers or a curling iron. I went to Rebecca for the first time for a haircut and make-up application, and I couldn't be happier with how both ended up! I walked in needing a haircut that was low-maintenance, yet still retained some sense of style. I also wanted to keep my length. She listened intently, and she worked my hair a bit before washing it. I absolutely love the style - I'm able to wash & wear it to work, but I can also style it into something nicer. My make-up job was equally good. I was attending a daytime event, so I needed something natural, yet more elaborate than what I normally wear during the day. She explained what she was doing throughout the application, and she checked with me about color selections before applying them. My make-up ended up looking natural and polished, but not overly done. Perfect. I initially made the appointment because it was the only salon anywhere near the West Loop that is open on Sundays, but I definitely will be returning to Rebecca very soon! I had such a great experience at this salon! I came in not knowing at all what I wanted to do with my hair...just wanting a change. Alexis was awesome! I ended up getting a cut and color (the color was a last-minute decision and I'm so glad I did it!). I honestly have never been so happy with a haircut. Alexis walked me through how to easily style my hair (which is helpful for someone like me who doesn't always have the patience/time to style). Went to 4 elements for a no chip mani, regular pedi and glycol foot peel before vacation. Tech only put the $60+ peel on the top of my feet only, even when I questioned why. 24 hours later, my no chip began to peel off like stickers. Even more surprising, so did the pedicure! They were 2 different types of nail service. Without time to redo at 4 elements or anywhere else, I ended up paying twice the amount to get it done on vacation. The first time I came here, I got a haircut and color with Jennifer (I think that was her name). The color didn't last very long, but the haircut and style was great. She did a great job on the blowout which was perfect for my bachelorette party later that day. My hair looked great in the photos! I came back with my BFF the day before my wedding for manicures. I got an introductory rate with Paulina, and she did a good job. I like the decor and the fact that I never had to wait more than 5 minutes before my services began. Also, they have a convenient online booking system. Since I live in the area, I get discounts in the mail from 4 elements which is great.
