My friends were raving about this place for weeks, so we finally decided to spend our Friday night to come here after a concert nearby. I thought it was just going to be a dive bar, but wow this place is very lively, what I mean lively was that they have a live DJ, full bar, plenty of TV's, beautiful looking staff and very catering. 3rd Base is conveniently centrally located in Hollywood's jungle city. The venue is beautifully designed with a bar located in the middle. When we came, I forget that I'm in Hollywood, music can get a little loud later in the night converting the sports bar scene to a cool sexy lounge. Cauli Burger- love the Vegan option, Surprisingly it made me forget that it was not meat. Fried Strawberries- must try this, it's just not a cheesecake, it's like an angelic cake and cheese cake in one. Lobster Pizza- this is - one-of-a-kind pizza you must try. Freshly made to order as well. All the drinks are awesome by the way, very impressive. Everything we ordered was inexpensive, and everything I had was very delightful. First they charged us a $30 per person. The reason one host said was because customers dine and dash. The other host said because during playoffs and things they like to ensure guest spend at least $30 not sure which was true. Anyways, we paid. Then we order the margarita tree and receive wrong flavor. We told our server ( tazhanae) and she thought it was a good idea to take our straw out and try them herself. And tell us which each flavor was, agreeing with exactly what we said instead of taking it back and correcting it. Checked this place out over the weekend and was a little disappointed. The overall style and design is nice and the servers were very friendly. I will say though, the women's server uniforms were skimpy, not a fan of that. I got the vegan cauliflower burger, and was not impressed. For the price point ($14), it should include fries (I had to order those separately, $7). The burger was served on wheat sandwich bread and the cauliflower was more of a mashed potato texture than a patty. The flavors were good, but that's about it. It also comes with a pickle, but the flavoring is sweet which was a little strange. I also ordered an orange crush cocktail which was good, but a little overpriced ($14). My group ordered several appetizers and they agreed the Philly cheesesteak sliders were the best. (I'm vegan so I didn't try them but they looked good). They were not happy with the mozzarella bites, they're not traditional so the inside appears to have shredded mozzarella instead of slices. It was mostly filled with air, so they were pretty bummed. The private room in the back is perfect for a group enjoying fantasy football or a birthday party with its own private bar. The decor and ambiance in the main room is welcoming. The venue just opened so they're still fine tuning some of the dishes surely as the roasted cauliflower was served as basically unappealing heads of cauliflower. The Philly cheesesteak sliders (served on lobster rolls) was phenomenal. The sleezy burger and fries was messy but enjoyable. Variety of appetizers including mozzarella bites were solid. The lobster pizza has healthy portions of meat in top and solid flavor. Would have preferred a little more fresh mozzarella. I came with my party of 5, and while this is a great place to catch a sporting event like the Lakers playoffs basketball, unless your party can all agree to split the minimum table spending amount it may not be for everyone. The ambiance itself was fine, they had the audio of the Lakers game we came to watch which is always appreciated, and played music during halftime and after the game. I didn't get a chance to check out the other room, which I believe has stadium seating. I think most people liked the food, but the BLT was missing something and it could've been the avocado I asked for and never made it in the sandwich. Our server was training, and while she started off great, as soon as it got a little more busy she was too quick to leave our table without asking the table as a whole if we'd like anyone would like anything else. This place has potential! I came here to watch the Laker game with a group of friends Monday evening. The aesthetic of this place is elevated lounge/sports bar. It is chic and modern with its wood finishes and lighting. Now the food is so tasty, I ordered the chipotle chickpea chicken wrap. The chickpeas are so smooth and creamy, the chicken was well seasoned and as for the rest of the wrap it was all crisp fresh ingredients. I also ordered the waffle fries with a side of ketchup, those I wasn't amazed by. They lacked flavor but I at least it had crunchy outside and warm potatoey inside. Our waitress was training and it clearly showed. She started off on a good foot but as the place got busier her attentiveness declined. She would come over and ask one person from our party if anything was needed she would hear the request and take off like a speed train. This frustrated us, the rest of the party wanted to order more drinks and food but we had no chance to speak because she would take off right after asking one person from the table. To add to frustration we had a limit to meet, $250. A limit, you may ask. Yes. In order to get a table during the Laker game we had to state how people and each person was $50. Well actually more, you see gratuity is included into the bill. By the end of the game the waitress assured us that just two more drinks and we would meet our minimum .That was incorrect. We still had to order an additional two drinks to meet the minimum and we were all tapped out. I understand why they charge, it surely helps with crowd control but better service and not waiting for our drinks would have helped to meet the minimum.
