Started out fun. We ordered drinks and grabbed a table. After a few rounds, and snacks, we decided to all it quits. My friend went to the bar to close the tab, when the bartender realized another bartender had given his ID and CC to another guest, who was a regular by the way. We spent the rest of the evening calling the CC company and waiting for the bartender who made the mistake to come back and try to fix what he had done. The woman who was assisting us wasn't very nice and seemed annoyed with us, telling us all we had to do was call the CC company and stop the card. We explained my friend would also have to get a new ID. I was wondering how something like this could happen, especially when they said it was given to a regular customer, when the bartender said he was hung over and didn't notice. They said they would get the items back and mail it to my friend. Once they got the items back, it took them months to mail it. In a city of Bars and restaurants raising their prices as they reduce the amount of alcohol put in their cocktails, Mr. Furley's seems to be a last bastion of integrity and cocktails that u can feel. Not that Mr. Furley's needs another 5 star review. This review is more for me, than anyone else. So I can remember the place where they still add alcohol to their drinks, with a chill staff and a great happy hour special. Used to be a regular here. Last night was my last visit. Turning off the TVs -- i.e. sports on weekends -- after 9 p.m is a beyond-baffling decision for a "sports bar." The staff said it was the owner's rule -- super perplexing -- and to post to Yelp bc he won't listen to them. Like, what the hell are you thinking? Are you high? Making matters worse, when I tried to order my third happy hour drink, which is normally free (after ordering the first two before 9 and clarifying I'd get a third), an older blonde server refused to even look at me and said I couldn't have it. Aware of my frustration -- and in disagreement with this older blonde -- I was told by my initial bartender, "this is a joke, you can go." I've spent a lot of money there over the past two years, but this experience was beyond frustrating. Time to find a new spot, 100%. What an incredibly strange, strange owner this place must have. I do wish they offered a few more vegan options but at least they have chips and guac. They offer potato chips as a side with some of their menu items so you can ask to just purchase the chips. The pretzel can also be modified by asking them not spray it with butter. They have plenty of seating as well as a pool table and dart boards. Fridays can get kind of busy due to the after work crowds so I try to avoid that night. STEPH JUDGEMENT: Friendly bartenders, with happy hour 7 days a week! We decided to hang out at this place before a show at the Largo since they also had food. We were intrigued by the name, which is a reference to an old 70s-80s sitcom called Three's Company. Those of a certain age will remember that show very well. Aside from the name of the bar and some drink names, however, there's nothing else that alludes to that show, which we thought was rather strange, but oh well. The interior was quite nice, looking newly renovated, with lots of white tile, marble, and dark wood. We took advantage of their happy hour and tried the following drinks: - Recall Beagle - The Mr. Furley - Crazy Larry - Rum a knock on our door - Mrs Roper shot (as a cocktail) - El Gyapo (hubby's whoopsie--NOT threes company related) We also tried their food: - Veggie Pizza (lots of veggies) served with ranch - Roasted cauliflower served with carrots and celery and ranch The drinks and food were good, and since we were early we had a nice time chatting with the friendly bartender. I was really disappointed with the service from the bartender during my visit. From the start, she came across as rude and uninterested. Instead of being attentive to guests, she spent most of the time talking about her "wonderful experience at the Four Seasons," which felt unprofessional and out of place. It's great to be proud of past/current work experience, but when customers are waiting and trying to order (when the place is practically empty) and she's "focused" on the tv and the focus should really be on providing good service. The overall attitude made the atmosphere uncomfortable and not very welcoming. Unfortunately, the poor service took away from what could have and HAS been an enjoyable experience. For finger food we ordered chicken quesadilla (amazing), pretzels (very nice) and chips and guac (not bad). The place was nice and the music was mix of old and new which we enjoyed. We also tried this new beer they had called delirium tremens (yes, that is the beers name!). Very good beer! I would go there again for happy hour or after and try other food and drinks. Mr Furley's is truly one of my favorite spots in LA. I hosted my birthday party here and they were so friendly and accommodating for everyone. We were able to bring our own cake/cupcakes in and everyone had their own tab going at the bar while we hung out in the small outdoor space which was perfect for a party. My top two favorite things are the Mozzarella Sticks and the Nachos Quatro. I tell EVERYONE about these two - the Nachos Quatro is a brilliant way to ensure that you get all the good stuff in the nachos in every bite, and the Mozzarella Sticks are literally sticks cut off a block of mozzarella. Unreal. The Bavarian Pretzel gets an honorary mention as well - I'm a sucker for a good bar pretzel! When I need a chill spot to meet friends, this is where we go. I have always loved going here for their nacho cups (used to be so good..! And darts but last night was OFF. Maybe the kitchen was trying to get out QUICK and cooked everything on super high heat or left things in the oven too long because the meat on the nachos was overcooked and dry and inedible. I normally use Yelp to praise but I feel strongly commenting as this experience ruined a Friday date night. This bar is in an upscale area, so I was expecting a fun, welcoming, and hospitality-driven atmosphere. Nothing expensive or upscale or even special, just a normal bar experience. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience. For starters, TMI but I'm currently taking medication-- I asked for a virgin drink, but the bartender actually joked about it with another customer, calling it "weird" to order. The bartender mentioned after to me "I can mix some orange juice if you like." Already set a bad tone. My boyfriend and I just standing there waiting for our drinks while the bartender and near by customer laugh at the idea of ordering a virgin drink. While there were a few normal patrons, including doctors from the nearby hospital, it was bizarre to have multiple people sort of turn and get on your business at this bar. The nachos didn't resemble nachos at all--they looked more like mini lunchable-style tostadas. Not appetizing for us personally so we wanted to replace them. When my boyfriend politely went up to ask if he could change his dinner, another customer chimed in with, "That's weird of you, just try it." Not really the restaurants fault for the behavior of customers but overall the bad vibes for the night kept piling up and we ended up leaving a bit down. read more

Finally Mr. Furley's comes closer to me! Parking is easy to find. The lot next door charges $5 for 5 hrs before 10pm. I always come only for happy hour (5-9pm according to the board inside, not 8pm). The food is the same as the other Furley's. My favorite is always the beef skewers. The drink is more expensive now? I remember only paying $8-$9 back then. They are now $10-$11. They are still buy 2 get 1 free during happy hour. I think the food got more expensive than last year. But then inflation has all prices increased. George was a great and nice bartender. He tried to make conversation with everyone, cleaned up dishes and counter constantly, refilled our water when they are empty without asking. We saw Westside Story Burlesque in Beverly Hills and decided to try the bar afterwards for late night snacks and drinks. It was well saturated with various bar patrons from an obnoxious lady who kept laughing very loudly any time the guy she was with made a comment to quieter people. I ordered the chicken skewers with chimichurru sauce and Buffalo wings. My total was 20. The food was okay. The drinks are probably rocking. We will return to try some. This establishment is great for groups and they are open late which is rare for LA hot spots. Parking is a bit tricky. We parked in the lot next door and had to find our way out as they locked it up.
