Came here for food and drinks on a Thursday night and the atmosphere was very lively. It happened to be trivia night and a lot of people were participating and having a great time. Everything felt well organized. I was in the mood for a simple cheeseburger and even though it wasn't on the menu, our server was able to make it happen. She was very attentive, made sure we had everything we needed, and checked in on us consistently throughout the night

This is my first Yelp review for Barney's Beanery for any of their locations (been to Pasadena and Redondo Beach as well), but West Hollywood is the one I've been to the most and have had so much fun there over the years. It's a loud and boisterous place, but always fun. I love that it hasn't changed much over the years, the paper menu, the decor, the collage tables. On this day, I tried their BLAT (BLT with avocado) and it was delicious. There is a new Barney's sauce, which is a little spicy, but I like it. Plus the fries have some cajun spice, similar to Five Guys. Son still favors Five Guys fries and did not really like the Barney's sauce on his burger, but I liked it. Service was fine, I've never had problems with service at Barney's. Other customers is a different story, but it is a bar after all.

I came here with friends. It's a sports bar. The waitresses are cute. The food was okay.

Cute little place to have brunch, lots of history. Waitress was awesome cracking jokes giving us info about the place. Orders placed food came out quickly everything was great was a nice experience

Love the atmosphere of this place, very very busy if you don't mind that. Servers are nice, give them grace when it comes to waiting for drinks & food. The Nashville wings were perfectly seasoned & weren't spicy in my opinion but the flavor was out of this world.

If you live in LA then you know about Barney's. I visited for the first time a few weeks ago with my friends to grab a bite, drinks, and play some pool. The space is great, has a really cool vibe to it. They have 3 pool tables, basketball, shuffleboard, air hockey, foosball, and an arcade machine. Ample seating as well. The food was actually really good and exceeded our expectations. Drinks are good as well. Wait staff aren't super friendly but security and bartenders are nice. Overall it's a nice place to come by and hang out with friends. Lively, crowded, and loud on a Saturday night but if that's what you're looking for - Barney's is the place to be!

Built in 1920, I spent quite a few evenings here in the 80's drinking beer, shooting pool and eating from their enormous menu. My wife and I were participating in CicLAvia and we stopped in for a beer..... our first visit in 30+ years. It looks identical outside of the nicer TV monitors. Good to see some things never change.

The ORIGINAL Barney's Beanery, what can I say? I've come here since before the pandemic; I also have visited the santa monica and burbank location. However, this location exceeds all the other locations. I couldn't point my finger as to why, but I can see CLEARLY why. The service is great, as well as the food! I've come before and usually only ordered drinks since they have a great selection on tap! However, this past Friday night, I decided to come here after work with some coworkers; we opted for appetizers and drinks! We were seated at a booth by the hostess and greeted by our lovely server named Morgan! She was attentive to my table and recommended some food items. The place is pretty spacious, maybe bigger than what I remembered. They had a screen projector that was playing the NBA game, they had a pool table, and some cool arcade games located in the back next to the restrooms. Overall, I had a great experience here thanks to our server morgan and AJ!

Stopped in for a quick drink and appetizer at this iconic bar. The place is really cool inside and you can just feel the history of it. I had the boo bear cocktail which was good and I'd drink it again. The chips and guac were ok but the fried pickles were real delicious, strong recommendation for them. The service was good but we were there for only a little bit so I can't comment too strongly on it.

We decided to hang out at Barney's during a rainy LA day and enjoyed some delicious soup and games of pool. Everything was very tasty and our server, Trinity was very attentive. The decor is fabulous and throws back to its long long history at this location.

We were in the area late on Thursday night, so we decided to stop by Barney's Beanery at around 10:30pm. I've been to the location in Santa Monica many times, but I'd always wanted to check out the original historic location. You seat yourself at whatever table you can find, and it was pretty packed but we didn't have trouble finding a table. People were sitting and leaving tables constantly throughout the night so I don't imagine you would ever have to wait too long on a Thursday at least. The crowd is definitely on the younger side and I'm 36, but I felt like a senior citizen, older by everyone by at least 10 years lol. It's a packed, loud, rowdy type of place with music blasting...not really my thing anymore but it definitely reminded me of the places I would to go in my twenties. The food was just ok... and it seemed like we were the only ones that ordered anything more than an appetizer. We ordered the mozzarella sticks, nachos with chicken, and carne asada fajitas. The only thing I really liked were the mozzarella sticks, and if I ever do come back here at such a late hour, I would probably stick to items from the appetizers menu. Service was a little slow to get started, but once we started ordering food and drinks, the server would come by regularly to check up on us. The server was definitely overwhelmed with people constantly flagging her down, but she remained friendly and I never got any sass from her so job well done. They could definitely use some more help though. Like I said, not really my type of place anymore, but I can't say I didn't enjoy myself...especially once the drinks started flowing.

Was walking down the street and just stumbled upon this place. Was greeted with smiles and having the door held open for my boy friend and I. We both said, "this is our kind of place" at the same time. Cozy feeling. Pool and other games. Enough variety of food to accommodate most peoples taste buds. We started off with the mac and cheese wedges. Substituted ranch for the marinara. They were everything I was thinking they would be. Crispy batter, not oily. The macaroni tasted perfect. 100% will get again. For our meals I got the Nashvile Spicy Chicken Sandwhich and my boy friend got the Classic Club Sandwhich. Both with the steak fries. We traded quarters of eachothers sandwiches to be able to taste them both. The chicken sandwhich was good. I ordered a side of the Chipotle mayo to dip the fries in, it came in handy with the sandwhich as well. It was a better quality version of what you'd get at a fast food that's for sure. The Club was a standard classic. I'm a saucy girl, so I put the Chipotle mayo on it as well. To end the meal we got the churro waffle dessert with a cup of coffee. The coffee was warm but still drinkable. And I thought the waffle would have had more of a cinnamon churro vibe to it. The ice cream came with chunks of ice in it, not what you'd usually expect. Overall the place was inviting, staff was friendly and looked like they enjoyed being there. We left full and with some to enjoy later. I feel like the food is worth about $3-$5 cheaper then it is. We will go back and try some other items when in town again.

    Full house today.

It ended up being the perfect venue for a night of live local talent--intimate, moody, and full of character. The back room where the artists play? I was obsessed. The paint peeling from the burgundy ceiling and deep red walls in that perfectly imperfect way that tells you this place has history. Wallpaper panels edging the ceiling, cozy café tables mixed with booth-style benches and chaise lounge seating--it felt like an artsy little hideaway where musicians can actually breathe and audiences can really listen. Warm lighting, sexy shadows, and even a tiny bar tucked in back for busy nights. I loved the whole atmosphere. Up front, the full bar is its own vibe--neighborhood-bar energy but with cocktails that taste elevated. I had a Moscow Mule and a Cucumber Gimlet, and both were excellent. The fact that they only use fresh, organic fruit and juice really comes through. Crisp, bright, clean flavors. My bartender was super chill and spot-on with recommendations, which I always appreciate--I love when I can lean on someone's expertise and they absolutely nail it. Even the person checking me in for the performance was great--friendly, helpful, happy I was excited to support local artists. The whole staff just made the night feel easy. I genuinely hope I have another friend perform here, but honestly I'd come back regardless. I love high-end venues as much as anyone, but there is something so special about places like this--spaces with a little wear, a little history, a lot of soul, and a strong commitment to the artists who pass through. This is the kind of spot that keeps the LA creative scene alive.

They can mess it up quite a lot, as it turns out. Both our orders were incomplete. My burger arrived with no bacon and hers no cheese or grilled onions as advertised, and what we were served was an awful-tasting risky endeavor, hastily assembled, leaving us both fearful of a questionable future with respect to the toilet. The fries were soggy, the burgers lukewarm and gross, the beers barely poured by an intermittently working tap system. This was not good food at nearly $30 a pop. For a dive bar which brags about it's pub style fare, this place missed the mark spectacularly. There's too much good food in LA at a lower price point to waste your time here.
