I've been coming to this salon since 2005, and specifically to see Marie. She's been cutting and coloring my hair for almost 7 years, which is crazy since I was a stylist hopper before. We've had a great time together, and I've continually received compliments on my hair. I've had a few other experiences at this salon and all have been equally positive--facials, waxing, nails. What I love is you get all of the high-end skills you'd find in Cherry Creek, but without the stuck-up attitude. Everyone is laughing and having a good time from what I can tell. Best of all: the salon is open 7 days a week, so if you have a brow wax emergency on a Sunday afternoon, you can take care of it. The only reason I'd leave is if Marie leaves. I purchased a Groupon Now for this place, sort of on a whim. $65 cut and color. They told me the day was pretty booked, but had two times open. Luckily, one of them worked for me, but they were willing to honor it the next day if not. The salon isn't fancy, open stations not shoved up against any walls. It is in a sort of shopping center, which kind of turned me off at first, but this "shopping center" has cute things like a "Meat and Cheese" shop. I had a hard time finding the door, but once I made it in I was smilingly greeted. My stylist Sean, was great. A sort of no-frills, awesome mom, which was great. We talked a lot about Televsion, since we are both obsessed. I liked not having to be too cool before entering. She mixed some colors together to cover my wild colors from before (I needed a change I could wash more often), and while I let that process she had another client. I then wanted her to chop my hair like Ginnifer Goodwin's short pixie cut, which is not a lot different from the way my hair was. It is a nice haircut, my hair looks healthy and shiny, but upon further inspection, my lady burns (side burns for folks with short hair) were very uneven. One was pointy, the other blunt. It isn't enough to make me not like the salon or my hair, in fact, when I asked a couple people they said it looked intentional. I left buying some shampoo and conditioner, expensive stuff, for dry and itching scalps, but honestly, it is amazing. Super tingly, and has improved my hair and scalp. I like that. She also used some stuff called, "Cowboy Magic" detangler and shine enhancer, usually for horses, but it worked so well, I purchased some online and started using it too. I have gotten 2 pedicures here with Renee and I am in love. My feet feel amazing and she is awesome. It's not some crazy salon/spa place that you can tell the people don't enjoy being there. The location is great, although I have a feeling depending on the time you come parking may be a little bit of a pain. I will be back again at some point for a pedi with Renee! read more

The atmosphere is comfortable, my stylist Andrea was awesome, and they do kids cuts, too! I happened to stop in while at another store in the shopping center, and I'm so glad I found this place! They scheduled me for an appointment on the spot and were able to get me in the same week. They even sent a reminder text the day before and day of. As promised by the front desk scheduler, my stylist Andrea was fantastic! I don't always like to chat while getting my hair cut, but Andrea was super easy to talk to and put me at ease right away. She helped me figure out what I wanted to do with my hair and did an amazing job! Don't go here. Worst hair experience EVER. I requested a specific color line, color and even showed an image of ME with the desired hair color. Somehow she completely misunderstood what I was looking for, gave me a partial highlight instead of an all over color with low-lights, ended up putting all over color on my WET, TANGLED hair which means that the color didn't blend properly and I now have streaky color. Total fail. I was there for FOUR hours and left with ruined color that required me to visit another salon to repair for a hefty price. Ridiculous. Ask questions. Tell people what to expect. She also indicated that the salon recently changed owners, that she was unhappy with the new owner and that she didn't have a clue about what was going on in the salon and that several stylists and receptionists recently walked out/quit. I just got a stunning cut, for a great price. I have never had so many compliments about a hair cut. From other guys. From strangers, from the clerk at 7-11 who I've known for years yet never had as much as a glimmer of recognition from. This was the review I started to write and somehow let remain unfinished from the first week of December. I then made the mistake of letting someone else cut my hair. I didn't get the same result. This was my "normal" salon, and a well rated boutique. The difference was night and day. I absolutely HATED my haircut. I FINALLY understood what women mean when they say a bad cut can make one cry. It was so bad in comparison to the cut I had just had from Johanna. Well, I didn't make that mistake again.. After 6 weeks of hiding under my hat, I finally had enough hair back to go back to 3rd ave and get again, the best cut of my life. She spent a lot of time detailing the lines, each segment is flawless. No clippers, washed twice, and a massage. How could you want more? Super priced, nice people, complimentary beverages, WIFI, and everyone had a smile. read more

This review is for Jennifer! I am so glad you joined the 3rd ave studio team because you're great at what you do. This was my first time getting my hair done here and I was ok with any stylist because I just wanted a simple cut that isn't too complicated. I did a lot of research before going in as to the exact hair style I want and I brought in pictures which was helpful. I was very tired of my long hair because it was difficult to maintain and took forever to brush everyday. It was time for a change. It took a lot of contemplating (you understand girls when it takes you years to grow your hair out you can't just cut it that easily) but i finally decided I needed shorter hair. I decided to go for a lob that's longer in the front and shorter in the back with some side bangs. Jennifer knew exactly what I was talking about and gave me pointers on how long the hair should be to look good. I like to curl my hair so she suggested not making the slant too obvious or it might look weird curled. She also suggested I get layers to give the curls more dimension. I really like the fact that this place shampoos and conditions your hair before they cut it and the chair is super comfortable and gives great neck support. Jennifer really took her time with the cut and ask for my opinion each step of the way which I really appreciated. She was super meticulous with her work and it took a total of 1.5 hours to get the cut down. I LOVED my hair cut. She even taught me how to volumize my hair which is much needed. She also did a really good job with my bangs which is a first because salons I have gone to in the past have always messed up bangs. Going to have to down grade my rating. I'm at a loss of what to do. I'm busy, and schedule accordingly, but the last couple of times my stylist has called in sick. I can't totally fault someone for being sick...but the salon has no one to cover in these situations, so the appointment I made two weeks in advance so it would work with my schedule gets moved out another two weeks. I was saddened after reading other negative reviews because I had an exceptional experience this morning with my stylist, Amanda. I hope this helps ya'll consider visiting this salon. Simply More is all that! I walked in and was greeted quickly and offered tea, coffee or water. The sitting area is comfortable and very clean. The studio is nestled in a quaint neighborhood and I absolutely loved all the natural light as its a corner studio lined with windows. Very relaxing atmosphere. I should note I'm new to CO and have been looking for a new stylist and studio and I really think I've found it. Again, Amanda gave me a great cut, was very easygoing and fun to talk to; and styled my hair to a T. I also like the product lines they carry - a few that are new to me. But after having gone through a shampoo and style, I can attest the products are clean and don't weigh down your hair - they smell amazing to boot! The shampoo was clarifying and I swear my natural color looks better today as a result. I'm excited to return for a color consultation at my next cut appt. I truly think I've found my new stylist and studio! And, ladies; if you've ever moved or had to change stylists, you know how stressful it can be. I am writing this review as a head's up to anyone who is used to Simply Moore-- do not expect Simply More to be anything like what it used to be. I recently went to Simply More and was severely disappointed. My esthetician was out of town and I needed a brow shaping so I thought I would take the time to go to Simply Moore because I used to always have awesome experiences there and loved the atmosphere. When I called, it took me three calls before I reached anyone during business hours. I was then put on hold for a "moment" which was not a moment. I mentioned to the receptionist I had not been in in awhile and she failed to mention to me that they had moved locations. I took the time to park, pay, and get to my appointment on time (and if you know Cherry Creek North this can be a feat). When I got to the Simply Moore building the business was no longer there. I had to call to find out where they were now located and re-park, pay and get to my appointment. Having this knowledge prior to my appointment would have been helpful and a lot less stressful. When I walked into the new building I was in shock. What used to be Simply Moore (with emphasis on Simply-- as in clean, professional, tasteful) was now literally and figuratively Simply More (as in too much (MORE) packed into a small space, cluttered, gaudy and borderline cheap looking). I had NO idea the business had changed this much and it truly was a shock. (Did I mention it was a shock, lol). As far as my service, my esthetician, Mary, was lovely and professional and I liked the shape of my brows. When I went to pay I was told it was $35. Again I was shocked as the same service used to be $25. I asked for a service menu and was told service menus were not available. (How was I supposed to know what I just paid for??). I asked for Mary's business card and was told she didn't have one. In summary, what used to be a high-end, clean, lovely, super professional, exquisite spa is now a cluttered, unprofessional, mess. Like I said, my brows turned out great, but I would NEVER pay $35 for that environment or lack of professional business. Please do not expect the business Simply More to be run or anything to the standard of what Simply Moore used to be. I wish someone would have warned me. read more

I've had my hair cut here by Renee twice now. Both times I have been given a solidly good cut. Renee is friendly and sweet. The haircut she gave me had amazing longevity! My hair grows quickly and this cut looked good even as my hair grew. I've just had my second haircut from her and have had a compliment on it at literally every holiday party I've attended! I found 3rd Ave Studio because I am a stylist stalker. I followed Andrea here from another salon. I have already posted two very lengthy reviews detailing my hair odyssey and how I came to find Andrea, who is amazing and whom I would probably follow to the ends of the earth. She LISTENS, offers ideas, and doesn't scold me when I sometimes cut off pieces of my hair that are annoying me. Additionally, I've had way too many hair cut and color experiences wherein the stylist has no conversational skills at all, so I've sat in uncomfortable silence for up to four hours. Andrea is fun to talk to and the four hour episode practically flies by. She also doesn't push pricey products. If I ask for a recommendation, she will give one, but I feel absolutely no pressure whatsoever to buy anything (I do anyway, but that isn't the point). If you want amazing eyelashes, ask them to hook you up with some Li Lash! The salon itself is small and can feel crowded during busy times, but everyone is so nice that it is actually a very comfortable place to be. The lady at the desk offers drinks and is fun to chat with while I wait for my color to cook. I would send a good friend or a close family member here with confidence. read more

I recently went to 3rd Ave Studio via a referral. I was hesitant to go, as I get my hair cut at a chain barbershop in Denver and, while I'm usually not wowed with their men's cut, I'm generally not disappointed either. I'm so happy I made the decision to go. I saw Max, who was open to my input about the kind of cut I wanted, but also had the expertise to offer suggestions that I wouldn't have thought of on my own. I don't like taking too much time out of my day for my haircut, and Max was both quick and excellent at his work. While the price was a little more than I'm used to spending at the chain barbershop, the service and quality of the cut from Max definitely made it worth the price. I was happy with the end result, and I actually got positive comments from coworkers and friends about my hair after the fact, something that almost never happened with my previous haircuts. I'm a happy convert to 3rd Ave Studio and Max as a hair stylist, and it's safe to say that I won't be back to my old chain barbershop. read more

I came in today for the first time to get my haircut, with Renee. I walked in feeling completely nervous and honestly not too excited. Right as I walked into the door, I felt welcomed and got taken care of instantly. In the matter of minutes Renee showed great customer service. This little gem is tucked into a cute neighborhood corner, lined with trees and best of all- Free parking! Made an appointment because of a friends recommendation and it is the best thing I've ever done! I had the pleasure of seeing Rene Martinez for a summer pick me up of high and low lights. I was personally greeted by her upon my arrival and immediately offered a beverage of my choice. Nice! Then the magic began... After explaining to Rene the hell I had done to my hair in the past month and what look I wanted, she quickly got to work! I AM TRULY AMAZED!! True talent! From the mess I walked in as to EXACTLY what I described and wanted and feeling like a Victoria's Secret model walking out is without a doubt a miracle. Rene created a masterpiece out of a disaster. I found 3rd Avenue after the girl I loved left the salon I used to go to. I have to say, I'm glad I did! I see Heather and she is fabulous. My hair has had a lot of color over the years, and she does a great job of attaining the color I'm going for, but not at the expense of the health of my hair. Plus, she's a sweetheart! Their prices are fairly standard (which, these days, means expensive, I'm afraid), but not any higher than I would expect to pay for a good quality hair color and cut. I can not say enough good things about renee' and shantelle. If you need a mani-pedi or acrylics or a shellac go to them. They are experts at what they do and super cool. Never got to go here. Made an appointment for a really important event over and month ago. I got texts and emails to confirm my appointment and then less than 24 hours before my appointment someone called to cancel. They gave a ridiculous reason that "well we usually aren't open Sundays" which is ridiculous since the website says they are and the stylist I made the appointment with said it was no problem. I've been going to 3d Ave for about a year. My hair looks and feels great. I wear it longer and get lots of comments about "great hair." Vered, who is the one who cuts my hair, is really good. She is really careful about making sure the cut is clean and balanced (my habit of crossing my leg drives her nuts - sitting to one side or the other makes it difficult to get the right side even with the left side.) Everyone at 3d Ave Studio is really pleasant, and it's easy to get in and get an appointment. The owner is hand's-on and very serious about running a top-quality establishment. I went to 3rd Ave. Studio for the first time today. I had a Groupon for a cut, and deep conditioning. I saw Heidi, and she was great! She was on time, and very personable. I'm always scared to let anyone else tough my hair, as I always have my sister-in-law cut it. I've had long hair so I would get it cut once or twice a year when I was home for a visit. The last time I went home I had my sister-in-law give me a pixie cut which meant I needed a trim... really bad! My sister-in-law had told me what to ask for, since she has been doing my hair for so long she knows what works best for me. I felt kind of bad going into a new place and telling someone I didn't know how to do their job, but Heidi was very open to the suggestions my sister-in-law made. She did a great job with the trim, and used the razor as I had requested to thin, and texture my very thick hair. She did a great job styling it at the end of the cut. I am new to the Denver area so I don't know how much cuts usually run around here. The price I was told without the Groupon seamed steep to me, but I come from a small town. The price is the only reason I may not go back, but then again you get what you pay for and Heidi did a fantastic job! I would recommend Heidi, and 3rd Ave Studio to my friends. I had a gift certificate for a facial and because life had JUST calmed down (after having a baby, getting back to work, etc.) I was now ready for my pampering. I saw that the gift certificate had expired, but called because I know many places who will still honor them even if expired. I was bummed to get a simple, "No we can't honor it because so much time has passed." Soooo...if it had expired a month ago it would be okay but because it's 8 months expired I can't use it? Too bad - they could have gotten a repeat client for being cool but took the other route. PS - expiration dates on gift certificates suck - what purpose do they serve for the seller besides being able to make money without providing the promised service? read more

My experience with 3rd Ave Salon was the worst I have ever had! I relied heavily on the reviews I saw on here and assumed the salon must be pretty good but it was AWFUL! From the terrible attitude I received walking in (mentioned by other yelpers), to the overcharging, to the poor customer service and professionalism I received from the stylist, Chris! On top of it all, my hair looks VERY bad. I went in for a full cut and color and now my hair is not at all the color I wanted and she damaged it by allowing the dye to sit in my hair too long, while she cut someone else's hair. I could continue to rant about why I was unhappy with this salon but it would take far too long. I just want to emphasize that this was the worst experience I ever had at a salon and no one should tolerate their terrible service. read more
