Parlour LoDo - Stylist "K". So its been a couple of weeks, enough time for the cut to settle. My conclusion is that it was a waste of $100+ bucks. It was supposed to be a bob, its a mock pageboy, just a blunt cut. Its not even. All the hair strands are different lengths. The cut has no technique, no shape, no expertise. Its a kindergarten level cut. The fact that every section is uneven takes the cake. Complete waste of time and money imo. I am looking at YouTube - and am giving myself a better cut and technique that I had at the salon. Sadly I love the salon, I'll see if I can find a good cut another time. read more

Her highlight and cut by Kimberly was $250 two days ago and she was pleased. She told Kimberly that her son was home from college and wanted light highlights and trim. Kimberly said she could fit him in and just to call. Appt made, for today, 2 days later. He had a few highlights in short hair and a trim, not cut, and was charged $350!!! Daughter called but was told the total was final, no exception, per Kimberly. No explanation for the huge increase for 1/2 the services. NEVER go to this location again. Wow! What an amazing place. I volunteered to be a "model" for one of the students (Whitney) and can I tell you I'll be back!. Their model to teach and provide hands on experience as these new stylist learn their trade is not an amazing way for them to receive in the moment feedback from a top professional and master their trade, but also build their book of business. I've had a lot of services here and I've never been disappointed! I can't speak for all of the stylists, as there are quite a few, but Caitlyn and Jason are both amazing. I went to Caitlyn for highlights and a cut, and was really happy with both. I wanted subtle, natural highlights and made a change from just below shoulder length to a chin length bob. She gave me exactly what I wanted! I recently went back for a more dramatic change. I wanted to go from dark brown to lavender. I knew that this would be a long and potentially really damaging process, so I asked the receptionist to do a consultation with a color expert. She booked me with Jason, and it was the best experience I could have asked for from consultation to end result. He managed to replicate the color I wanted absolutely perfectly, and while my hair is super dry (inevitable with the amount of bleach it needed), it's not literally straw and falling out like it did when I went blonde five or six years ago. I had a mishap where the conditioner they recommended left me with random vibrant purple spots, but Jason was super awesome and fixed it free of charge. I was also able to return the conditioner for a full refund. Another great thing about the Parlour is that they offer coffee, wine, and beer while you're getting your hair done. They offer valet parking if you need it, which is nice because parking can be tough around Union Station. Luckily I live about a ten minute walk away, though! read more

Came here to see Chelsea Joy Designs! Chelsea is an amazingly talented hairstylist who is amazing at heading. I've had my hair braided by her before and loved it. Braids were very tight and secure and lasted for over 2 months with some heavy use. She is super friendly and very professional. She's extremely talented with braiding and extensions, as well as hair cutting and styling. To see her if you want something super fun and unique! Don't have much to say about the salon itself because I didn't get my hair washed or anything but it appeared to have a lot of booths for several stylists so I'm sure getting a walk-in appointment would be easy. I wasn't a huge fan of having to park far away because I have a mobility issue, however, for able bodied people the ramp is very close or street parking is close. read more

I have been a long-term customer of The Parlour (five years at the Lodo location and several years before that at the Boulder location) and had always been pleased with their quality, professionalism, and customer service. However, that changed when I recently got my bangs trimmed in between haircuts. This service had always been free and when I booked the appointment, I was told it would be free. However, after getting my bangs trimmed, I was told there was a $15 charge. I refused to pay since I had been told it would be free. I just tried to book an appointment for a haircut and was told they will not book appointments for me since I refused to pay for my last service. If one of your employees makes a mistake, it's your responsibility as a business to honor it; that is not on me. This is so unprofessional and is just about the worst customer service I have ever encountered. read more

She was careful to make sure the products she used didn't contain anything I'm allergic to. She's the first hair stylist to ever let conditioner sit in my hair for several minutes, meanwhile giving me the BEST scalp massage. I haven't felt so relaxed in so long. I got a haircut and balayage from Kristi and had the BEST experience. Kristi made sure I knew what to expect in terms of final hair colour with the balayage, and she helped me decide on a new style to try with longer bangs. She is extremely talented and makes sure you're comfortable and know exactly what's coming next so you're not ever surprised, from hair colour expectations to whether the stuff that she's using on your hair will be cold. The salon is also doing a great job with Covid rules - every customer hand sanitizes and gets a temperature check upon arrival. The salon has extremely limited capacity and everyone is required to wear a mask. In addition, all the stations and washing areas are sanitized between clients. This was my first time to a salon since the start of lockdown, and they did a great job in making me feel comfortable being there. Overall, a really wonderful experience. She took the time to look at my hair (half wavy/half straight) to make sure the cut would work with my crazy mixed texture hair. We chatted the whole time, and she talked me through the cut process and helped me make decisions on areas that needed more attention. So glad that the other place I went was a disaster, otherwise I wouldn't have found The Parlour. I came here with the purpose of getting my hair done on my wedding day, with a group of 4 others. I came in for a rehearsal like hair do, then again for a haircut and conditioning, and then on the day of my wedding. My hair dresser got me immediately, which was awesome. She may not know it yet, but I think I found my new hairstylist! I will definitely be back! My mother, god-mother, and two friends also had their hair done. Everyone loved their hair, except one, but it's tough to nail everything all the time, especially when you just meet someone. I love coming here. The vibe is always so great! All the stylists are so friendly and they offer each other advice and ask one another's opinions. You can tell it's a place they can really grow. I'm honestly really disappointed with the way my haircut experience was here. Long story short, the staff here was unwelcoming and prententious from the front desk to the stylist. I had to wait 45 minutes so by the time I finally got to start my appointment the stylist was rushed. Trying to talk to the stylist was like pulling teeth. She was cold and clearly upset/rushing. The cut did not turn out well at all. I asked another stylist for product help and was rudely ignored. This salon's vibe is cringey. I had nicole, had high expectations because salon is beautiful, offer you a drink while waiting. I described what I was looking for and all seemed to be on track. There was no conversation during cut at all, maybe i caught her on a bad day, but felt like she was rushing thru cut, didn't cut as much off as discussed, and after she started drying without saying anything.. i asked if she was going to cut more when dry. She seemed "bothered" by question. But said... "i can" i pointed out long bang..and she said, ok, I'll trim more..then started thining back of hair, which I specifically asked her not to do because it gets flyaway and frizzy. They immediately offered me a variety of drinks and sang out to the person I was seeing that I was there.
