After three years of being a loyal customer at this location--and consistently arriving at least 10 minutes early--I was recently marked as a no-show for an appointment. This appointment had been scheduled months in advance. When I received the 48-hour reminder text, I was in the middle of moving and in one of the busiest stretches of my work year. I immediately tried to call to cancel, but they were closed that day and there was no clear way to cancel through any other method. Because of everything going on, calling back the next day unfortunately slipped my mind. On the day of the appointment, they called me, and I apologized for missing it and explained the situation. During that conversation, it sounded like they might be able to work with me to avoid being charged for a service I didn't receive. However, a few days later I checked my bank account and saw that I had been charged the full amount. While I understand this may be their official policy, I reached out again to explain that I had attempted to cancel and had no available option to do so within the 48-hour window. What followed was a drawn-out process where I was consistently never called back in the time frame I was told and ultimately I was informed I would still be responsible for the full charge. After three years of loyalty--and even considering recommending them for my brother's upcoming wedding--this experience was extremely disappointing. read more

I liked it and thought I had found a professional salon but when I got caught up at work and had to miss my first appointment ever they charged me and told me "too bad". They were rude and said some policy stuff to me. The medicaid taking PT I went to had more respect for me and my business then this salon. Their cancellation policy is unfair and rude. They just charged my card on file and said screw you and your business. Honestly I'm super disappointed. I wouldn't put my card on file because they don't respect the customers who go there for years and their reminders are an absolute mess. I get texts sometimes and other times nothing at all. They are good at getting reviews like a dentist, they have it set up in an automation but if you are looking for a high-end salon that respects business and return customers then this most definitely isn't the place. I found three cutters on Instagram and reached out explaining how I had a bad haircut somewhere else and needed help finding a stylist who fit my needs. They gave me a call the following day and set me up with Katrina. I was able to get scheduled the next day! I went in this morning and Katrina went over what we could do with my hair. At this point, I had let it grow for about 5 weeks before getting the botched cut fixed, so we had some room to work with! I showed Katrina my inspo & how I like my hair. I could not recommend Three Cutters any higher! My skin had been feeling and looking dehydrated and it needed some good TLC with a facial. Erica was absolutely amazing. She was so professional and so relatable/personal at the same time. The ambiance in the room was os relaxing and calming. Not only did I leave with my skin feeling so rejuvenated and fresh, but my mood was also boosted. When leaving, I mentioned how I struggle with clogged pores at times and Erica recommended a product to help gently exfoliate a few times a week. This product is great! After too many visits to strip mall eyebrow threading places, my eyebrows needed a little love...I grew them out for about 6 weeks to regrow some missing spots then made an appointment with Megan because of all her great reviews here on Yelp. Megan is definitely an eyebrow expert/Goddess/visionary...she will help you make a plan for eyebrows, but also make them look good in the meantime. The salon is in a little neighborhood, and you could almost miss the building if you aren't looking. The inside is fairly nice and you are greeted warmly and offered yummy Aveda tea/water. With the pandemic , it's been over a year since I've come in and I don't think I'll be back. Previously, I saw Alison and followed her from her old salon. Upon learning that Alison had moved to the Sunnyside location, I went back to her old salon because I was already driving 40 minutes to get to Wash Park, there was no way I was making the drive another 20 minutes. The original salon didn't really give me the cut I wanted, so I tried Three Cutters again with a different stylist. I made an appointment with Jessica R at the recommendation of the receptionist. The cut went okay. I mean, I wasn't blown away, but I also didn't have any complaints. I had quite the sticker shock though at payment. Now, this is a "no tipping salon". Which doesn't really mean what you think it means. They work the tip into the set price, so whether or not you are happy, they get their rate. So if you're used to paying $60 and tip 20% for great service, you pay $72 total. Here, you don't have the option and you just are charged $75. This didn't bother me with Alison because I always got a stellar cut and she was still reasonable. Now imagine your stylist is rude, or your hair is crooked - no choice. Like I said, I had a good cut with Jessica and she was pleasant, so I probably would have tipped 20%. What made me angry was how overpriced she was. And that I was not made aware of the cost when she was suggested. Since then, I've gotten a series of emails to inform me that with promotions and seniority and however else they decide these things, she has raised her prices several times. I just don't see the value. I didn't see it at her old price, and I certainly am not tempted to try her again after several price increases. read more

If I could give an additional star I would. I have been going to Three Cutters on Pearl for about a year now. I see Sarah for my hair and Justin for my eyebrows. Sarah is wonderful. She is consistently upbeat and takes pride in her work. I can always trust her to listen to and execute exactly what I want and she always provides me quality, honest feedback when I ask her for it. She also goes out of her way to show me ways to style my hair at home, including a demonstration of exactly how much product to use, tools & techniques to style, etc. Sarah always makes me feel welcome and always provides me a relaxing, enjoyable experience. Justin is fab. My eyebrows needed some major work when I started with him due to having waxed with my quick nail lady on the reg. Justin planned with me to grow out my brows over time for a natural brow shape. My eyebrows are naturally super light (I'm a redhead) so he also dyes them. We have had to figure out the right color over time but we finally have it. I personally think eyebrows are super important to your overall look, so I really appreciate the long-term planning and collaborating service Justin provides me. Justin is also just super fun. We usually giggle, have ridiculous conversations, and/or sing songs for the duration of my appointment. Three Cutters on Pearl has a very organized and efficient scheduling system, and the salon itself is always clean and never over-crowded. Kayla the receptionist always has a smile on her face. She's also great at recommending and applying makeup. This is a well-run, welcoming, and more than satisfactory salon and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new place. Allison used to be my hairdresser and she was amazing! However, she left and I've been back two times with two different hairdressers and it has been a disaster both times. They charge an arm and a leg for their services. It's absolutely not worth it. My hair is a mess, it's uneven and too short. Even my eight year old would have done a better job. Three Cutters is a salon that has always treated me right. I've used their waxing services and they're my go-to place for my hair cuts. I'm a pretty low-upkeep person so leg waxes are perfect for me- grow it out, wax it off, grow it out, wax it off, etc. etc. Meghan was my esthetician and she's the coolest! I'd keep going back to Three Cutters just to hang out with her and catch up on our lives. She made the process of taking my pants off and exposing my overgrown leg hair to a stranger totally comfortable and laid back. Kami, currently working at the front desk is a natural with hair.
