    What a cute salon! Street parking is the only option, but it's free and the salon is between two blocks so there are options. I came in to get my hair done by Jeannie Yi. I've followed her from salon to salon because she is AMAZING! If you need a new stylist I highly recommend her. You can text or call her at 720-935-5516. The next time I come here I will definitely get my nails done too.

    UPDATE: As of 8 pm last night, Austin still continued to harass me via text message. The text reads as follows: "Your reviews speak for themselves. I'm sorry you feel so inadequate. Instead of a salon try a therapist. Namaste away from you". This is borderline harassment. I refuse to partake in this childish behavior. A photo of his last message and a time stamp have been included. I had an appointment scheduled here today at 10:30 with Austin Norris. Let me start off by saying that the beauty box storefront is adorable. The interior is visually appealing and artistically put together, and the overall cleanliness of the store seems great. This review is about the appalling treatment I had with beauty box employee Austin Norris, who not only called me names, but continued to tell me that I couldn't afford their services and that he knew other hair stylists that he was going to report me to, as if he was threatening me. Um, ok? Also he told me to never come back to HIS salon. The gist of this post is Austin showing up nearly a half hour late to our scheduled appointment, and when asked if it was ok, I told him no it wasn't. With the amount of time I had available the tardiness on his behalf wouldn't work. The level of pettiness he then came at me with, was shocking to say the least. The name calling and financial shaming pictures in our text exchange is not only unprofessional but embarrassing for the beauty box company. This started with me showing up slightly ahead of schedule for my balayage. I got a text at 10:27 from Austin saying he hit traffic and was going to be there "ultra" fast. I'm thinking he was just a few minutes behind and would be there shortly. So I go into the salon and was told by the gal there to have a seat. 10 more minutes go by and no Austin. So I text him and asked him how late he would be. He responded it would be 10-15 more minutes, and asked if it would "mess me up". I worked a 16 hour shift the day before, getting off at 11:30 and home by just after midnight and was scheduled to work again today. I was so tempted to cancel both of my appointments this morning, including my appointment with Austin, because of how tired I was. But I didn't because I wanted to respect Austin's time and the 24 hour notice request made by beauty box. I booked this appointment to treat myself and to try something different with my hair, even though I had little time to do so. After Austin text me saying he would be another 10-15 minutes late, I decided to leave. I let the lady know on my way out that Austin said he wouldn't be in for another 10-15 minutes so I was leaving. That his behavior was unprofessional and to make me wait almost a half hour for him to show up to work on time was an excuse that you give to an employee, not to a customer. I realize that the gal working was not at fault. She was with a customer, and even though she acted like "what's the big deal", she was not to blame for Austin's tardiness. I went home to regroup but texted Austin back saying that actually yes, that is going to "mess me up" as he put it. I told him pretty much exactly what I told the other gal at the shop. I have worked in customer service the majority of my working life, currently for an airline. I have never ever had a customer talk to me the way Austin did via text. I have learned a long time ago to apologize to a customer even when things are completely out of my control. This was well within Austin's. Everything is time stamped and included in the photos is an appointment change made well ahead of the 24 hours beauty box requests to cancel/change appointments. That request goes two ways. Respect my time, I will respect yours.. and own up to your part. If I get called out on my bullshit I will own up to it and attempt to correct my behavior. Austin called me a Karen, childish, told me I could only afford Floyd's anyways with my budget (which is incredibly rude. Everyone has to make there money somehow, why bring in another business who is just trying to get by like everyone else? What an unnecessary comment. Also, the Karen thing is so overplayed) Lastly, I stopped participating in this text conversation at 11 this morning, and Austin continued to message until shortly after two. If you book at this place, I would not recommend booking with Austin Morris. Not only does his work ethic seem to be lacking, but his professionalism and overall decency towards another human being for his own error need a quite a bit of development.

    Jeannie Yi is the best! I met Jeannie 20 years ago and she was my stylist until I moved out of state about 9 years ago. I have not been able to find an awesome stylist like Jeannie since I moved. I reached out to her when planning my trip back to Denver. She was able to fix up my botched up hair color and haircut. I've gone to several stylists in Honolulu who haven't been able to get the color and cut I was ever really pleased with. Jeanie went above and beyond to correct my hair color and then gave me partial highlights and haircut. She styled my hair beautifully by blow drying it straight per my request since I naturally have wavy hair and I love it straight. She is an expert and she gave me recommendations on how to care for my hair. Jeannie is a miracle worker! She is the best stylist I've ever had and I'm not exaggerating.     Loved my appointment with Antonia! She listened to my goals for my hair and did a great job! My hair has never felt so great!

Even she said as I was checking out that I should just be billed for a polish change. The tech filed 2 nails for 30 seconds. I scheduled and came in for a polish change which they told me would take 10 minutes and it did. owner insisted afterwards that i pay for a mini manicure which i did not receive per the tech who confirmed verbally with the check out clerk. no massage. no filing and buffing. no lotion, no cutting of cuticles. $33 for a polish change seems excessive and greedy. make sure you get pricing up front from them. aesthetics and interior design very low end, looks cheap and sloppily put together. I tipped the tech $10 on venmo because I do not trust the owner to give the tip to the tech. When I asked them to call the owner back to confirm I was being charged for a service I didn't receive, the owner didn't pick up nor text her worker back. After waiting for 10 minutes I just paid so I could leave. Not a good way to run a business.

I love this new space, especially the enormous skylights. It's always bright in here, all the chairs and stations are obviously new, they have lots of flowers and good energy -- and they serve drinks like wine and mimosas. Can't beat the quality though -- and that's really why I've been coming back. Their shaping and designs are impeccable -- whether you have your own nails, do tips with dip, or prefer GelX. I highly recommend the GelX if it's not what you do -- as it's the best/latest technology in pre-shaped, semi-flexible, clear/thin gel extensions. I honestly can't find fault with anything they do here. And not just Linh and Tan, but they've also brought on a team of other fantastic local techs/artists. I know Lana and Danny are also fantastic, for example.

Before I start, the name of the salon does not properly describe the exterior of the shop -- it looks like an old-fashioned cottage in the middle of corporate buildings. Super cute! I fully expected to see little bunny rabbits hopping around. Anyways! The interior: definitely a lounge vibe and some of the nicest furniture for a nail salon I've seen in a while. I got the basic mani-pedi with the Mask Pedicure option. Both the ladies gave the best massages--and none of that slapping nonsense. Felt like heaven. Now, my manicurist told me her philosophy was to not over trim your cuticles, as it is a protective barrier. I have definitely read about that but of course I'm a bit obsessive about my cuticles. But, when she showed me how healthy her nails are (mine are always dry looking), it was pretty darn convincing. I really appreciate when nail technicians share their experience and care, so I'm going to give that a try. It's always a risk when they share knowledge with customers but I know they know what's up (e.g. years and years of experience and training) so I'm taking the advice! Also, I got a bonus shoulder massage as they weren't too busy at the time - yahoo! I didn't post a picture as this was yesterday and I forgot while heading over to Cherry Creek Mall, so my non-gel mani is no longer perfect. It took them an hour just to get my dip off (usually takes 10 minutes????), then the reapplication of the dip was laughable. My tech burned/nicked me multiple times with the electric filer and burned my skin by getting gel remover all over me. She also completely ruined my natural nails by the amount of sanding she did to remove my initial dip. By the time she was done, my nails that are usually strong and healthy were paper thin. The appointment took nearly 2 hours and I left with lumpy, uneven nails and cuticles that weren't even touched. My dip also chipped in less than 24 hours. Steer clear.
