She did SUCH an amazing job on my barely-there brows! I had both a wax and a tint. I have patches…read moreof brow hair missing from auto-immune disease, so I HAVE to get them tinted so that they show up better on my face. My brow hair color also happens to be quite a bit lighter than my brunette hair, and so getting them darker really helps with my overall face profile. The waxing job was wonderful! The shape was perfect - we went with my natural shape and just cleaned up around outside. The tint color was exactly what I wanted (though sadly my brow hair doesn't hold tint very long...sniffles). My brows looked fabulous and dark and well-shaped and didn't require me adding any pencil filler to them for at least 3-4 days (which is a miracle). It's been almost a month since my service, so of course the tint has mostly faded at this point. But there's still enough there that I can see where to fill in the rest of the brow. She took the time to answer my questions regarding her other services, including my inquiry on the pain level of micro-blading...which she says isn't all that bad for the average person. Aside from the waxing services and micro-blading, she offers lash lift and tint, which I hope to be back for in the future as finances allow. Jacki is located inside a hair salon off Downing St and NOT at the University location that will still show up in a Google search. Just go to Peachy Clean's website for the location. As a heads up, the waxing and the tint ARE priced separately and not in a package deal like many salons offer. The price of the two services separately will not allow me to go to her location as often as I'd like, but her work is totally worth it if you can budget in the wax/tint once every 3-4 weeks. The salon location is also located in a neighborhood near the university, so plan for street parking. There are fun little cafes to hang out at if you need to arrive early to get a spot and then wait for an appointment. Highly recommended.

After three years of being a loyal customer at this location--and consistently arriving at least 10…read moreminutes early--I was recently marked as a no-show for an appointment. This appointment had been scheduled months in advance. When I received the 48-hour reminder text, I was in the middle of moving and in one of the busiest stretches of my work year. I immediately tried to call to cancel, but they were closed that day and there was no clear way to cancel through any other method. Because of everything going on, calling back the next day unfortunately slipped my mind. On the day of the appointment, they called me, and I apologized for missing it and explained the situation. During that conversation, it sounded like they might be able to work with me to avoid being charged for a service I didn't receive. However, a few days later I checked my bank account and saw that I had been charged the full amount. While I understand this may be their official policy, I reached out again to explain that I had attempted to cancel and had no available option to do so within the 48-hour window. What followed was a drawn-out process where I was consistently never called back in the time frame I was told and ultimately I was informed I would still be responsible for the full charge. After three years of loyalty--and even considering recommending them for my brother's upcoming wedding--this experience was extremely disappointing.

Let's pour hot wax on my body and rip out my follicles like I'm preparing for the Olympics." And yet... here I am. European Wax Center is clean, efficient, and very easy to book online. Which is great, because it means you never have to call a stranger and say the sentence: "Hello, I'd like to schedule some aggressive hair removal." You check in and within minutes someone is calmly spreading hot wax on you like they're frosting a cake. A cake that is unfortunately attached to your shoulders. Then comes the rip. Somewhere deep inside, my inner Greek barbarian wants to roar and run back into the mountains. Instead I sit there quietly thinking, "Ah yes... this is how the modern man suffers." The staff are nice and professional, though the vibe is definitely efficient rather than spa-day indulgence. This is less "luxury relaxation" and more "well-run hair removal logistics operation." I respect that. Huge bonus: I can walk there. Few things are more humbling than casually strolling down the street knowing you're about to pay someone to violently remove your fur. For the record, I am not going full dolphin. The chest hair stays. That's protected territory.
