I have long thick hair and always expect to be up charged at salons but I have NEVER spent so much money on a haircut and color. I'm talking $500 with tip. Unreal. And the worst part is I am extremely disappointed with the output. I spent 5 1/2 hours at the salon and basically had my entire head of hair foiled to achieve a balayage look. I expected a huge transformation yet walked out with slightly brighter hair. To fix this would require an entire redo. The stylist offered to fix the color which I will entertain with the price I paid but I'm skeptical. Update: the owner has offered to correct the issues with another stylist in the coming weeks. Update: Lauren fixed my hair at no cost which took another 5 hours. I'm much happier with the output but still disappointed in the original cost for a salon I would not consider high end. read more

I can't believe it's taken this long for me to write a review for Studio 303. I've been getting my haircut here for almost 2years now and I'm so glad I found them. I get my hair cut once a month and this is the most consistent place I've been to get a fade. It's ALWAYS top notch. The staff is always so welcoming and extreme friendly! Heidi does a great job with fades but I usually just walk-in so she isn't always available. But no matter who cuts my hair it's always perfect! I have gone to this salon since 2019. Leah was the owner at that time and she was fantastic! Unfortunately she sold the business in 2023, and the new owners are either absent or rude (the first time I met the new owner she asked if I wanted a coffee and then told me to make it myself). The stylist I went to "left" abruptly and I suspect it is due to the new owners lack of management experience and being invested in her employees and their clients. A friend recommended this hair salon since I was looking to chop my long hair to a A-Line bob. It is a style I have done in the past and though it is known to be a difficult cut, I wanted to make sure that stylist who will be doing my hair is stellar. The place is close by to home and have passed by it several times. I decided to give it a go. Tommy was my hair stylist. I read great reviews on Yelp of him and decided to give it a go. My appointment was in the afternoon on a Saturday. Tommy is was friendly and stayed on the side of caution (which I liked) as in cutting too much hair. I enjoyed my new do, the only thing I was quite upset about was that on their site it states that with every haircut you would get the following: "All haircuts include a consultation, lavender steam towel, scalp and a paraffin wax hand treatment, a blow dry style, and a one-time complimentary clean up on your fringe or neck with your stylist." I didn't get a Lavender Steam Towel, scalp, and a paraffin wax hand treatment. I was super psyched thinking it was going to be a tiny spa day. The cost of the do was $64.00 and well it was a but pricey for my taste seeing I didn't get all those little perks. I made the appointment with Lauren and she stated that there is a complimentary paraffin wax and nothing was mentioned. Granted I should have said something but my hair do wasn't complete till almost 4pm which they closed. Pretty bummed. Anyways, the place is decorated pretty hip. All the employees were pleasant. Very disappointed with how I was treated after leaving my last appointment with chemical burns on my scalp. Ive been seeing the same stylist at this salon for almost a year for bleaching/lightening services. I was unhappy with my previous color treatment for shadow root and came back to fix the blending. I got an unnecessary bleach out, with bleach applied directly on my scalp from the start, and ended up with chemical burns. I sent photos to my stylist (who is also the manager) to show her since she told me the pain came from a "cut on my head" & that there was actually a few burns in that spot. After talking to her and expressing I was upset and In pain, I was told it was an allergic reaction and to put oil on it, then told multiple times they'd talk to the owner and make it right. After two weeks I finally contacted the owner who could not have cared less. She told me she'd talked to my stylist, seen the photos and didn't know why I wanted to talk to her or was calling. I felt like I was treated like I was being overdramatic, there was no concern about the burns or resolution other than her offering a (unspecified) treatment. I was basically told stuff happens and my hair was fine so it was ok. I'm just a little blown away that I came in to fix a service, spent more money to get it fixed, leave with burns on my scalp and being told it was a cut and a reaction. Then to have to be the person to reach out when I expressed I was unhappy and in pain from a service I received. Very unfortunate circumstances and I wish some more compassion would've been given. read more

I'm glad I listened to all the reviews and gave this place a shot. I've been growing out a pixie and just moved to Englewood, so I needed somewhere local to go for my hair. Super impressed. Lauren gave me the most beautiful cut and color without sacrificing my length. She listened to me, looked at my pictures, and then gave me exactly what I was looking for. I couldn't be happier. If you're looking for gorgeous, multi-dimensional color, she's your girl. I still can't get over what a beautiful job she did. The salon decor is super cute also - chic with a vintage twist. Studio 303 is an all points stop. Really one of the best places I've been. It's cozy on the inside. Relaxing. I like to show up early just so I can sit back a bit and bask in the atmosphere. The desk staff is super friendly and really makes you feel welcome. Everything about the interior and the people seem designed to make you feel welcomed and relaxed. Seems like a no brainer, but you'd be surprised. And then there's Tommy. Tommy has been styling my hair for almost two years. On my last appointment, he made me feel... well... beautiful. It's the best I think my hair has ever looked. The process is really smooth. We both talk for a bit on different ideas, good and bad. At the end, he jumps right in and adds his flair. His signature.
