It is what it is, I had a good cut but the woman cutting my hair was running behind so my hair was blown dry with not a single speck of product in it, no oil, no heat protectant, no nothing. Shampoo + cond and then blown 80% dry. I was a total frizzball and I don't think I've had my hair blown dry without heat protectant since 7th grade. My inner self was crying thinking about my poor hair. She was incredibly nice and did a good job but I could not understand not using a single drop of product. Also-if you have asthma, are sensitive to smells, or just hate cigarette smells, it's important to know that this business is in the same building as a cigar bar and the smell is absolutely overpowering. I'm sure they've tried to mitigate the smell and I'm not sure much can really be done but for many people this would be a deal breaker for an experience that is supposed to be relaxing. read more

I found this place through Groupon and Lindsey the owner cut my hair. I was pressed for time and running late but she got the job done and it looks great. I did notice when I had my hair in two braids down the middle, that one side wasn't even, but she said I could come back and get touched up if I had any problems and I never did. 5 of the scariest words to say to someone "Can you make me blonde?" Well, I'm a blondoisseur so when I trust someone with my hair THREE times, you know they're amazing at what they do. So Monday afternoon, I think to myself, hmmm... maybe I should see if I can get in before my birthday. So I text Jodi (Jodi Grubb to be exact) and she was able to get me in the next day. Don't try this yourself, she's a rockstar so I would be sure to plan ahead. The salon is located downtown across from my favorite guilty pleasure, Biker Jims.... so super convenient no matter where you're coming from in the Denver Metro. I would recommend parking in the lot off Larimer, it's $5 for all day parking and when you go blonde, you should expect to be there for longer than the meters allow without you going out to pay with foils in your hair... I've done this a few times... Anyway, I sit down and Jodi immediately takes my jacket and offers me bottled water. They serve wine when they can... Damn Covid... She asks what we're doing today and I tell her I want to be platinum... She prepares me for the time frame we're looking at and gets to work. I was there for a long time, but it didn't feel like it. Her work flow keeps you distracted and she also lets you feel like you don't have to talk the entire time. I've really enjoyed working with her and plan to continue having her maintain my main. Catchy salon name and clever marketing chalkboard out on the sidewalk are what got my attention. Just...WOW! Almost a week after my hair appointment and I am still in awe of Lindsey's talent and friendliness. I had an appointment with another hair salon close to home before I traveled to Denver, but I had to cancel it due to a family emergency. Although I was bummed to cancel, I looked into hair salons in Denver just in case I can get my hair fixed before meeting with an admissions coordinator at CU Denver. My hair was a mess (it was a gross greenish-brown color due to lockdown), and I'd feel completely embarrassed if I showed up with that hair color. Thank goodness I found Wonderlust with so many fabulous reviews AND close to the hostel I was staying at! I saw that there was an appointment open for a few hours after my flight landed, so I booked it and cheered with excitement that my hair will get a much-needed fix before checking out CU Denver. I was skeptical from the get-go initially since I didn't have a great experience when I first dyed my hair blue at another hair salon. It took a whole 6.5 hours to get it done and I vowed, never again. But at this point, I'd rather endure another 6.5 hours to get my hair fixed than to keep my gross hair color. I'm so glad my experience at Wonderlust took a lot less time. Even if it took that long, I'm sure it wouldn't be as excruciating since Lindsey was really kind and kept a conversation with me, regardless of the fact I was running on 2 hours of sleep that day! Lindsey knew what she was doing and she took care of everything effortlessly. Seriously, I was blown away. Not only did it take a quick 1.5 hours, but I LOVE my new hair. That nasty green color is now a beautiful and natural chestnut brown. I had received a referral from one of my good friends to work with Lindsey for my wedding bridal hair. I had texted her back in March, introducing myself, as well as reached out via phone. We had a good conversation, talked about what I wanted and the details of the wedding. I explained that we were doing a SUNRISE elopement in Breckenridge, CO and would need her services very early in the morning (ex: 2:30-3:30AM). We discussed it further and ultimately she agreed that I could count on her. I asked if I needed to pay a deposit or complete a contract, to which she said, "I typically don't require one, I have never had anyone flake on me. If you want one so that you feel more comfortable I can certainly do that!" Being that she was a referral, and this was standard for her using the honor system - I did not do a contract. We both agreed that everything sounded great and we would touchbase over the summer to work on a trial. She quoted me a travel fee of $150 to Breck, $115 for wedding hair, including a trial and Bridesmaid updo's were $75 and blowouts $55. We caught back up in July and decided to do a trial at the end of the month. I started talking about the plans for the wedding (which she already knew) -- and she acted completely caught off guard and uninterested. She then stated, "Well I committed to it, so I guess I will just have to make it work." Not exactly music to my ears. The trial went well, it did seem like it was hurried, but it went well. We talked about adjusting things and I tipped her $20. I did leave a little worried by her comments, and honestly worried that she would flake on me due to her disinterest. Due to my concerns, I decided to send a joint text to my makeup artist friend and Lindsey today - one month out from the wedding. I texted stating the information of the location, the timing of when we would need to get ready (2:30am-3:30am), the lodging I had arranged for them, as well as there would be food the night before, in addition to the morning of. The response I received from Lindsey: "Excuse me what????" followed by, "Breckenridge first of all and second I don't know these people." I proceeded to let Lindsey know I was worried about this based on her comments and demeanor previously and screenshotted a text message of her quoting me a travel fee, as well as discussing staying up at our Airbnb." Lindsey replied back stating she would be there, however, based on her rude comments and clear lack of interest - I did not want to risk her not showing or causing yet another issue regarding information she did not remember.
