The staff looked nice to be honest but the owner gave me bad vibes. I actually thought about who I would like to be my stylist and it was not the owner. I made an appointment and had a consultation with the stylist I really wanted. She unfortunately, for personal reasons, was about to take a few months of leave. Since I have complicated hair I got pawned off on the owner. It was an awful, soul crushing experience. She is a horrible and cruel woman. I obviously didn't meet her "super cool" standards. I had two appointments with her. Yes. I was running late both times. But I was still within the allotted ten minute window of allowed lateness. I left both appointments with tears running down my face. I didn't even call to cancel or show up for my third appointment. I was too scared of the owner. She fired me. I went to this salon seeking help to find my beauty, class, and style. Instead of help I got treated the absolute worst I has ever been treated by a customer service provider. To the owner: you are a judgemental and cruel, pretentious person. Shame on you. So to my fellow disabled people, do not ever go to this salon. You will be treated like sh@t. The owner hates autistic people and has no kind acceptance of us. Keep looking. I found a stylist is is more talented, intelligent, and tolerant (and kind, understanding and talented) than the owner. I hate going to salons that are loud and gossipy. Everyone here was super nice. I have Asian hair so it takes a real pro to get it right the first time without having to go back and forth putting me under the dryer. I knew Shannon knew what she was doing when she explained she was going to use the highest level to lift (Black is hard to lift and my hair was black, blonde and brassy on the bottom) I told her I wanted caramel colors and she delivered a stunning color as the end result. I'm one of those don't EVER cut my hair and just color the grays kind of gals. I have had long hair since I was in elementary school and have refused bangs, highlights, and layers. It's a PAIN to style because it takes forver to style/blow dry. My hair is now curly as opposed to straight as a board as it was when I was younger. However, I had been thinking of cutting off 10 inches for locks for love (and since it's been a HOT summer!). I went in with the news and immediately Nicole was super excited, but cautiously optimistic. She knows I don't do "change" with my hair well. I am her most boring client! She wanted to be sure I was comfortable making such a drastic change. I confirmed my intent as I had been thinking about it for several months and our adventure began! That same day, three other lucky ladies were chopping off their hair for charitable wig donations. So it was definitely a team effort across the board and made it more fun! I brought 4-5 pictures ranging from super short to should length. We reviewed and discussed each one. Utimately, we went with an in between cut so it wouldn't be such a drastic change. Nicole's recomendation was spot on because it was a shocking change. I absolutely LOVE my new "short" hair (just above shoulder length). She also recomended a different hair wig company that gave children wigs for FREE (instead of charging them like Locks for Love). She knew exactly how to rubber band the hair for submission and took care of everything. I spent at least a week running my fingers through my hair in complete awe after it was done. It felt SO light! It was EASY to style (curly OR straight!!). I LOOKED and FELT young!! and NO TANGLES omg!! I didn't want to wash it for fear I would never be able to replicate how great it looked and felt. Ultimately, it's been so much easier to style and I can still wear it up when I workout (!!). Win win!
