I have never been treated worse by anyone in the Service Industry than I was by the elderly woman who owns the salon. I had just lived through the worst summers of my life. I had two parents die. One of them, I was there when they died. I had never seen anyone day before and a parent. Then we had to move immediately after we got home because I kept failing down our stairs. So my husband and I sold our townhouse and bought a condo. We had lived in the townhouse for almost a decade so it was a fairly large move. It was also the end of the strength of whatever had been holding me together. I fell apart instantly. Six months later I still hadn't unpacked not like me at all. I was depressed. My old salon had moved across town. So stupidly I thought I would try a new place. The staff looked nice to be honest but the owner gave me bad vibes. I actually thought about who I would like to be my stylist and it was not the owner. I made an appointment and had a consultation with the stylist I really wanted. She unfortunately, for personal reasons, was about to take a few months of leave. Since I have complicated hair I got pawned off on the owner. It was an awful, soul crushing experience. She is a horrible and cruel woman. I obviously didn't meet her "super cool" standards. I had two appointments with her. Yes. I was running late both times. But I was still within the allotted ten minute window of allowed lateness. I left both appointments with tears running down my face. I didn't even call to cancel or show up for my third appointment. I was too scared of the owner. She fired me. I went to this salon seeking help to find my beauty, class, and style. Instead of help I got treated the absolute worst I has ever been treated by a customer service provider. To the owner: you are a judgemental and cruel, pretentious person. Shame on you. So to my fellow disabled people, do not ever go to this salon. You will be treated like sh@t. The owner hates autistic people and has no kind acceptance of us. Keep looking. I found a stylist is is more talented, intelligent, and tolerant (and kind, understanding and talented) than the owner. Her name is Wendy and her shop is called Villain. She is real and very cool. Also her prices are much more reasonable. Ditch this witch. read more

Warm lighting and smiling faces immediately greeted me when I walked in. Real plants decorated the walls and ceiling! Such a vibe. 2 salon doggos ready for snugs! Briana did a trauma release ritual on my hair. The ritual took around 45mins with oils, massages and intention. She had a wonderful playlist and eye mask for me to go inward and release all that no longer services me. My experience was 10stars! Bri took the time to go over what I wanted in a hair cut with patience and grace. I walked out looking and feeling... well... actually... embodied queen! read more

PLEASE DONT GET LUPE! She was supposed fix my bleached hair I did at home and I told her I just want to go a tiny bit darker and have my roots be darker than the rest of my so it fades out better. She didn't listen to anything I said, she made my hair almost black, she started coloring at the bottom of my hair, so the top is light but the bottom is darker, which is what I specifically asked for her not to do. Now my hair looks tacky and she tried to fix it 2 days later but it just looked worse and darker now. My hair is damaged and thin. Btw I also paid her like $300 so if you go here please don't get Lupe. read more

Such a beautiful place with sparkling souls. The place is airy, light-filled and zen. Such a lovely place to sit and wait as well as bathroom (hey, all details matter!). My hair architect was Melissa, and she was so cool and gentle. I love my new hair. I admit, I'm slowly emerging back into society again, and so my anxiety is a bit present, but my experience was really pleasant, and if I make it up to Denver again for another haircut, I'll revisit the goddess realm this is. read more

The Organic Salon - Haircut - Hair Salons Near Me - Denver, Colorado

Alyssa was amazing! I was in from out of town and I got lucky to nab a last minute appointment for an organic all over color. The consult went well and I could tell she knew what she was talking about. They took such good care of me, spending time shampooing, treating and styling my hair. These ladies are so nice and personable and it truly was an enjoyable experience. My hair color turned out great and there is no harsh chemical smell! I have partially virgin hair and wanted to avoid damage as much as possible as I am trying to grow my hair out. The ends of my hair had faded to a reddish color that I did not like and I wanted a more natural dark brown look throughout. I feel that Alyssa's recommendation was the right one for my needs and since I am from out of town, she even gave me recommendations for organic hair color in LA! :) I can not recommend this place enough! read more

The Organic Salon - curly bangs by Ariana ! - Hair Salons Near Me - Denver, Colorado

I'm so grateful to have found Ariana! I have been living in Denver since 2000 and have struggled to find a stylist who specializes in curly hair and more importantly, one that listens to what I want and what I want to achieve. Like most people with curly hair my hair is all over the place, a mix of kinky/tight curls and loose/wavy. Ariana really knows what she is doing and is always consistent with my cuts and color. She also has curly hair so really understands the challenges. Ariana is a true artist (also smart and fun to chat with) and I'm super grateful I finally found someone I trust. read more

I'm in what should be an awkward phase of growing out my super short cut, but I LOVE my hair right now. I can't believe it's even possible. I was totally prepared for 3 months of just putting up with it, but It's been great the whole way! read more

Alyssa is the absolute best! I've known her for about 2 yrs now and she did my hair at another salon. I ended up following her to her own business, The Organic Salon (which is inside Urban Luxury Salon) I wanted to do an ashy blonde but have only trusted her to color my hair. It took about 2 hair appointments since my hair is very dark brown to get the color I wanted. Alyssa walks you through the whole process of what her organic hair dyes are. She uses The Organic Colour system. If you look up the dyes she uses they are: -95% naturally derived and 60% certified organic ingredients. -Vegan friendly colour, care and styling products. -Free from ammonia, parabens, resorcinol, gluten and GMO ingredients. -No nasty chemical smell -Cruelty-free. Even though I went through 2 color appointment, my hair is still healthy as ever! She was extremely conscious to retain the health of my hair (before dying my hair, it was back to it's natural color). Her skills at styling and creating a flawless balayage and ombré were so on point and exact what I wanted when I brought in my sample pictures. Oh one thing I haven't seen any other salon do and makes Alyssa/The Organic Salon truly special, is she finds companies that are sustainable. Meaning she recycles you cut hair with a certain company and the dye she uses another company will recycle/reprocess the dye to where it's not harmful to the environment. Even down to the plastic hair caps, she will wash and reuse them. Making her a truly sustainable salon. If you want to amazing while still being mindful of the environment, dont walk but RUN over to The Organic Salon!! (But really just schedule an appointment) read more

The Organic Salon - Hair - Hair Salons Near Me - Denver, Colorado

It has been a while since I've been able to look at a stylist and say, "I trust you. Do whatever." But Alyssa at The Organic Salon has won my loyalty and trust. She has given me the very best cuts and colors in....well...ever, really. The first time I sat in her chair (pushing a year and a half, maybe?), I gave her a vague idea of what I wanted (cut only) and she delivered with a style that suits my desire to be a bit rock and roll but my need to be professional. I am constantly getting compliments on the cut. Even to this day. When I went back to her late last Spring with a desire to get some color added, I asked for a bit of counsel and the coloring scheme she created was FAB. To say the very least. And once again earned me rave reviews. So, when I found out I was heading to Sundance Film Festival I headed straight to her to get guidance and help on achieving a new color. When she told me that she'd spent her drive back from Kansas thinking about different formulas to achieve this look, I wasn't surprised. She loves what she does and takes her work incredibly seriously. Which means YOU win. I really cannot say enough good things about Alyssa. If you are in the market for a stylist around which you could build your own cult-following then she is the one for you. Truly. read more

I have been to this salon (Alyssa) twice now. Once for a consultation and haircut and a week later for color. The experience could not have been better and the results were fabulous! I have received so many compliments! For me, the very best part, was to find a stylist I love who has a commitment to using only cruelty free and Earth friendly products and practices!! She even participates in a special program which recycles all salon waste (I.e. all those color foils). I highly recommend this business. read more

This salon operates differently as they charge by the hour. I don't mind this, and don't mind paying higher prices for good service and quality products, but my last experience was not a good one. I've been seeing Melissa who at first she was very sweet and easy to work with, but when the salon started to get busy she seemed to change. Before my appointment we exchanged text messages and agreed upon a time frame to complete my services, but when I got there she started complaining that it wasn't going to be enough time, and made me feel like it was my fault. She ended up over-bleaching my hair, but the worst part was her attitude. She told me their services had become in high demand, and that she was going to raise her prices so that she could work less and make the same amount of money. It became very clear that I was just a warm body with a credit card and there were plenty more where I came from. When it comes to a stylist-client relationship appreciation should go both ways, and I definitely did not feel appreciated. read more

Alyssa is amazing! Great experience, knows what she's doing and always leave looking and feeling fabulous!

So excited I found Alyssa! I do not use toxic products on my hair or skin and wig the greys coming in I always hated having to put color on my hair. So just out of curiosity one day I did some googling and found the Organic Salon. Her hair dye is formaldehyde and ammonia free and she really took her time to listen to me on my cut which I have had trouble finding someone who could cut my hair in a way that works as it's wavy with layers. Phenomenal job and I'll be back! Not only is toxic hair dye bad for our skin but when rinsed down the drain it contributes to polluting our ground water so choosing a stylist that lowers our carbon footprint is extremely important to me as it should be in society as the concern for environmental safety grows. read more

Had a great cut and highlight color with Alyssa. I love that the products are organic too without ammonia!

I have curly hair that has felt misunderstood for years...and then Ariana entered the picture. Alyssa is a mastermind. I was in dire need of reducing my exposure to chemicals in my life and had successfully with the exception of my hair color. The burn on my scalp and breathing of toxic chemicals got me to searching for alternatives! I didn't want to compromise quality or the gorgeous blond. That's how I found Alyssa. Alyssa is masterful with color (& cut/style) - I have a lot going on (covering gray, darker brown and blond hair) and I always walk out gorgeous! She is highly trained on environmental impact and a leader in her industry (known nationwide) in training and teaching on the color system, correct application, and improving environmental impact.
