Erica did an outstanding job color correcting my hair. I have salt and pepper/cool tone on top, and brassy/blonde midshaft through the ends. She delivered in blending the two extremes and toning to perfection, especially when considering the extremes I arrived with. She set me up to continue allowing my white/grey to grow in naturally as well, as requested. I will certainly be seeing her again for toning and color touch-up as my hair grows in, as well cuts. Highly recommend - she is both passionate and knowledgeable about color especially for those embracing their natural tones into maturity! read more

Jess saved my hair....it was damaged and lost the essence of the original red I had for decades. She worked patiently with me to re create the original fabulous red, conditioned it so it had a luster again and trimmed it just the way I asked. Jess is truly gifted as a hair stylist and I give her the highest rating. I'll see her again in 6 weeks.... wouldn't think of going anywhere else! read more

Going to Miya Salon & Spa felt very special. The vibe is so welcoming and I loved that they had a beverage station if you wanted water, tea, or wine upon arrival! It's a lovely touch! I booked an appointment with Carley and I'm so glad I did. She really took her time to hear me out and listen to my hair ideas and needs. She did a great job with the cut and even going shorter in my layers when I asked. I also loved her tips for styling and further hair care. I will definitely be back to this salon. I have been going to Laelan for about a year & a half and I can't say enough great things. I've had my share of hair struggles, especially after having my son 6 years ago, and some bouts of stress induced hair loss. Laelan immediately figured out a hair health plan so that I would be able to have vivid/vibrant colors, but also helping my hair growth and health become stronger. I've been dying my hair for over 20 years and Laelan goes unmatched. Laelan takes the time to explain and talk through the processes and it's never ever rushed. It's important for me to vibe with my stylist and since I'm there for a few hours each visit, it's a good time! I am beyond grateful for what Laelan has done for my hair (so far). It's a very comfortable atmosphere and everyone at Miya is so friendly. I love that there's a discount to refill products and a return policy if they don't work out. Saying I highly recommend is an understatement - I'd give more stars if I could! read more

Thank god for Yelp because Idk if I would've found Kendra without it! Now, after 2.5 years of searching, I think I've finally found my hair girl in Denver! She took the time to educate me about why my roots look the way they do when they grow out #flatheadproblems, asked me to show her multiple photos of the hairstyle I was going for vs just my one so she really understood what I wanted, and she's just an awesome person! It's clear that she's passionate about her about her work and she won't let you out of the chair until she's hit 100% perfection (which is what I LOVE about her). The salon is adorable and a great location. There's street parking all around and I didn't have any issue finding a spot but I imagine that might be a different story if you go on a weekend. Lastly, the prices were incredibly fair, especially for the quality of work they do. I can't tell you enough how happy I am with Kendra and the salon. Highly recommend! read more

Great experience! I just moved to town, so I searched for a salon that would cut curly hair well. After reading the reviews, I went to Miya. Brian was my stylist, and not only did he know how to cut my crazy hair, but he was also so so kind. The owner was on the phone when I came in. When he got off the phone, he came over and introduced himself right away. You can tell they care about their customers. Can't wait to go back for my next appointment! read more

Miya Salon & Spa - Fresh curly cut. My hair has never felt better! - Hair Salons Near Me - Denver, Colorado

I'm guilty of having the same hair stylist for years. I'm even worse where I fly home to my hairstylist. Between Covid and life - trying to make that situation work had finally come to an end. Their prices are higher. I do like that it's tiered based on the stylist. You get what you pay for. All the stylist are well reversed and have excellent skills. I'd feel comfortable going to any of them! I go to Brian he gave me so much confidence to chop my hair and do a long bob. Now if someone cos magically make more time in my life I'd be here for a cut every 90 days. The one thing I don't love is the front desk. They push products a lot and give off a judgements tone. One being "are you SURE you don't want some chapstick?"yes I'm aware my lips are dry due to the lack of humidity in Denver. "Oo last time you were here was over 20 weeks ago. Are you SURE you don't want to schedule your next appointment?" As long as you can get over that - it's truly a wonderful place. Nowhere is perfect. read more

After lots and lots of research and reading reviews on each salon, Miya salon won me over. No only do they have such amazing reviews but they also handled anything less than a 5 star review with a 5 star approach. I got to know the owners of the cute little salon that sits in such a perfect location on Tennyson. 1st impression: I set up a consult appointment to go over exactly what I was looking to do with my hair and what I was wanting to avoid. I got great confirmations and reminders for my upcoming consult. I met with Emily (owner) she and I sat down and had a great chat about all the ideas I had and photos I had saved. She even walked me through some things I didn't know and showed me what we would be working with and towards when coloring my hair. 1st appointment: I came in very excited and ready for a fresh look. Emily was so friendly and went over again everything that we had discussed I was hoping to achieve in my new look. She was patient and very thorough while working on my hair. End result: My cut turned out just how it looked in the photo I had shown her. My color was nearly perfect it just didn't take in some areas which can be normal and Emily instantly recognized it and went over it with more toner. She took extra time from her busy schedule and didn't make me feel rushed at all. Once the second round of toner was done, we achieved what I was looking for. She even let me know that if for some reason I'm not completely satisfied after a couple days and don't feel like it's where I want it to be that I could contact her. She was very caring and made sure I had a 5 star experience. Everyone at the salon was very friendly and the inside is so cute and clean. They have a bunch of wonderful products that are great at preserving your hair color as well as maintaining healthy hair. Try one of their many hair masks! I highly recommend not only for the smell but the feel of your hair afterwards. All and all I have to say my experience was absolutely wonderful. An amazing group of people here at this salon with lots of hair knowledge and they actually listen to what you want. I left booking my next two future appointments. I feel like I've found a hidden gem and I won't be going anywhere else. Thank you Emily and everyone at Miya salon! Can't wait to come back! read more

**Check in here for 10% off any salon service. **Very easy to make an appointment on their website. **Parking can be a pain on Tennyson so I'd recommend checking out the side streets. Super pleasant salon. Had such a cozy, unassuming vibe. The receptionist was super friendly and sweet. She brought me some tea (it was so cold out). They had a whole bunch of beverage options including beer and wine (too bad I was driving). My stylist (Tonda) was really nice and took the time to ask me a lot of questions (previous styling, upkeep regimen, etc.) in order to figure out what sort of haircut I wanted as well as give me her personal recommendations. I am kind of clueless when it comes to hair so I was really glad to have her recommend a less layered look as it actually gives my fine hair more volume. Very happy with the result overall. read more

I just had my hair cut by Tonda and am thrilled with my whole experience at Miya Salon & Spa. I originally booked an appointment for overall color and cut. When I met with Tonda, I told her about what I wanted, showed her some pictures, and let her know about my hair coloring experiences. Which included recently dying my own hair with box color. She walked me through her thoughts, ideas, and concerns about dying my hair. She kindly explained that it might not be the best time due to the fact that I had just done a box color myself. She also educated me about what the maintenance would be like for that particular color with my natural hair color. We then decided to do a reset on my hair with a clean cut and a deep condition. She was so polite, helpful, and kind. I'm loving my hair and so happy that I found Tonda at Miya. Tonda is thorough and knows her stuff. If your hair needs some love, go see Tonda! read more

I heard about Miya Salon re-opening under new management through a friend, decided to give it a shot and I'm so glad I did! It was my first time getting highlights and was a bit apprehensive since I have very dark hair, but Emily took the time during our virtual consultation to listen and understand what I was going for. She came up with a game plan and executed the cut & color better than I could have imagined! On to the logistics - finding availability online and booking an appointment was really easy and I appreciated the email/text reminders leading up to the appointment. They took extra precautions in the salon due to COVID and not once did I feel unsafe or worried about being there. Parking was also easy and I hope to explore more of Tennyson St. next time I'm in. Thank you Miya Salon for the beautiful hair and see you again in a few months! read more

I was cautious about going to a salon as I tend to be more of a basic gal when it comes to my hair and personal style. I dislike that some salons feel so pretentious and stylists can come off as "better than you". Miya salon was AWESOME! I had called before they opened to ask if they had last minute cancellations for that day and they were able to fit me in for a much needed haircut. They placed me with Nicole and she was wonderful! She actually spent time with me for a good 20 min, just asking me questions about my hair, lifestyle etc so she could get an idea of the cut I wanted and needed. I've never had that much time spent. Ever. She was so approachable and took great care of me and I LOVED my cut! She showed me how to style it and discussed the benefits of some light color without pressuring me or making me feel bad about my basic style. I can't wait to re book with her and get the color added. Also, the owner, I believe his name is Anthony, he was so kind, patient and knowledgeable. It's great to see a local small business ran by such hardworking professionals. read more

I've been getting hair cuts with Emily at Miya for a year now. I have extremely thick Asian hair which I used to tie back to keep out of the way. The salon always has a very quiet and relaxing atmosphere as well. I'm very grateful to have found her. read more

The salon is clean, comfortable, and feels very safe in this time of Covid. All of the staff were also very warm and friendly! I was not totally happy with my service (it was not something they specialized in), even though my stylist was incredibly kind and welcoming, and did really seem to know her stuff. (The color job was beautiful!) Sometimes these things happen! The salon did everything in their power to make up for my disappointment, which I really appreciated, and shows how much they care about their clients. They were very respectful in listening to my concerns, and never made me feel like a bother or annoyance for expressing my thoughts. Although my hair was maybe not what I was expecting, it was still beautiful, and the customer service was top notch. I would definitely recommend their services to my family and friends. read more

Very excited fate led me into this perfect spot. Emily and Aaron went out of their way to fit me in even with a hectic schedule and being close to closing- and I was highly impressed with their professionalism and how they were able to ignore how frantic I was (one of those days!). That being said don't be "me" and prebook as they are a small business and very popular so I was beyond blessed to sneak in. I needed a trim for my brother's wedding this weekend & my hair now looks healthy & gorgeous! Emily gave me a dry cut and I'm very excited by this option as I travel a lot for work and this is a nice, quick alternative to appointments I typically don't have time for, but desperately need! Also having been in Denver for over a decade their prices were exceptionally reasonable- don't be swayed their talent is top notch! Will be making this place a regular part of my beauty routine, I love that I can support a local, small business on my street & love the service I am getting. Emily was also lovely to talk with, as was Aaron. read more

I've had so many bad experiences (costly ones, feeling uncomfortable in the salon, cuts that were subpar) but my daughter was getting married and I wanted to look and feel great! I wanted to support locally and really took my time going through a lot of reviews. Miya Salon seemed to really stand out, so I took the leap and booked an appointment. I was scheduled with Laelan. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted warmly and checked-in immediately. Laelan asked what I was envisioning. She actually listened and took my requests seriously. So...my hair is pretty damaged and boxed colored. She expressed to me her concerns and offered solutions. We came up with a plan and she went to work. Throughout the process, she took the time to get to know me, she explained what would help repair my hair, and how the damage happened to begin with. Bring on the rinse out!! These chairs at the rinse station are AMAZING! They fully recline - I'm short - normally my feet go to sleep from hanging! Not only did they not fall asleep, my back got a nice massage. It was heavenly. Laelan gave me a wonderful cut, blew me out, and curled it up. It was shiny, healthy, and most importantly, made me feel pretty!! She knocked it out of the park! 10/10 recommend! I got my hair done by Kendra! She was very attentive and paid attention to detail. Asked me a lot of questions about what I was looking for. Today I last minute visited Miya and had such a great experience. Jadee was my stylist and she did a cut and balayage. I showed her some pictures and she was really great about communicating what she can do to make it happen. I'm really pleased with the cut/balayage. Even though I have thick long hair, she took the time to section out my hair and give it very pretty curls:) There's a little bit of reflection from the red car in my pictures, but I love how glossy and natural my hair looks especially in the sun. read more

Rosalee is amazing! She listened to what I wanted and made recommendations and turned out better than I hoped :) She's the best and the only person I would ever trust with my course Asian hair! First of all she fit me in her schedule last minute, worked way longer because my hair is so thick. I came in with my hair so damaged, like a troll doll xD My hair was so dry, no shape and the color was so bad.... then rosalee did her magic! Now my hair feels so smooth! She even thinned it out for me, now it feels so light!!!! And the color is perfect. Only person I would go to and trust with my hair!!!!! Her skills are magical and her personality is beautiful! Plus she doesn't push products on you like they would at other salons. She will educate you though on what you need :) THANK YOU SO MUCH ROSALEE. read more

I have been coming to Miya for over a year and absolutely love this salon! Kendra is my stylist and I usually get a gloss or deep condition and cut and style. I love the look that I get with her each time, she listens to exactly what I am looking for and helps with recommendations. We discussed doing a pop of color next time so she can also handle color needs as well. As for the salon, the products they use are amazing. I've transitioned from brands like okaplex and bumble and bumble to the davines brand completely! The all in one milk is my fave! Also the owner Eric always offers free chapstick and comes around with little surprises like hand balm. My first visit there I was new to the neighborhood and he even gave me a print out recommendation list of his favorite spots in the area. The prices are great here and service is superb. Highly recommend! Yelp is how I found them in the first place so hope to offer a great recommendation to someone searching for a new salon/stylist. read more

I called the Salon about a week before I was getting married to get my hair cut/half updo + make-up. I was connected to Carly who confidently said we could do a trial run two days prior to the big day and, with an extra charge, she would even come up to Estes Park to do the hair and make-up again. She suggested that I bring some photos of what I might want and the collection I brought on my iPhone was really a mess of all sorts of styles and dos. Despite this, she was able to get my hair PERFECT for the day. I thought her rates were very reasonable and the overall look felt organic and clean, but done-up at the same time. She also agreed to add the flowers that I bought from the florist and, maybe I'm sounding redundant, but she made it perfect. My mom was in the hotel room on the big day and Carly even obliged my mom's request to lightly brush-up and volumize her hair. Talk about great talent and service on such short notice!! I have been waiting throughout the whole lockdown to get my haircut, so I was super excited to land an appointment with Emily while I was on vacation to finally cut my hair. What can I say, from the fantastic front desk treatment from Aaron, to the luxurious massage hair wash chairs that made my back feel even better by allowing me to pop my feet up, I felt like a queen the whole day. Emily took her time to give me an easy to maintain style. Even better, she educated me as she styled, giving me tips I could use at home to make sure my hair looked just as good a week later as it did the day I left Miya salon.
