Had a free night and a moment of realization that my hair was littered with dead ends and wanted to do something about it pretty immediately. I called Indigo Salon and literally 15 minutes later was in the chair. Wryn was my hairdresser and KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK. I usually hate haircuts because I never seem to find a stylist who listens. I wanted to keep my length but just freshen it up and Wryn was so thorough in trimming each dead end. We did this dry (my hair was straightened so it was easier!) Then she washed and helped style my naturally curly cut (which is recovering still from an awkward layer job from a previous cut). Virlena has been cutting and coloring my hair for almost 10 years, and I cannot recommend her enough! She is absolutely amazing at what she does. She is always giving me a fresh look and is able to almost know what I want without me even needing to tell her. Not only is she an amazing hairstylist but she is an absolute wonderful person. She even travelled 2.5 hours to do my hair for my wedding, along with my other bridesmaids. To say she goes out of her way to help her clients is a understatement. Virlena McUne is a sweet, down-to-earth, positive person with stupendous, incredible talent cutting hair. I've had a similar cut for years and have lived in different parts of the country--with various hairstylists shaping my hair into the style I like the most. When I came to the first appointment--I showed Virlena my pictures. She went to town like an artist. Like a ninja master. Periodically, she would check lengths, even-nous and the thinning out of parts of my hair (I have super thick hair). If she was not satisfied with her own work, she would wet my hair down again and happily go to it again. I walked away with the best haircut of this style of mine --I had ever had. She also gave me valuable styling tips that worked every single time. Her work is awesome! I also liked that Virlena never kept me in the dark---it was the type of relationship you should have with your stylist--a collaborative one with excellent communication. After all---we're talking about YOUR hair! And the last thing you need is a month's worth of bad hair days. You'll never get that here. Then, one day I walked through the park for my bang trim between cuts. She went the extra mile--she thinned out parts of my hair that were getting long too--in addition to the bangs--just a little extra something---and all this at no charge. Indigo Salon, in itself, is a comfortable, intimate and clean salon with friendly people, like Martin--the guy who booked my next appointment over the phone. We kept playing phone tag, but based on the times and days that I left on the voicemail--he picked one and penciled me in--told me to call if it didn't work --then we'd reschedule. Perfect. It's in a great location (right next to Cheesman Park), and if you can't walk like I can, parking isn't an issue.
