The 310 Eatery is a must if you find yourself in Albany craving a good burger. I tried this place a few years ago and I knew I had to come back to check it out and see if it lived up to my memory. The 405 Traffic Jam Burger (4/5) - This burger is worth trying if only because of how absolutely stacked it is with crazy toppings. It's almost hard to call this thing a burger as the patty is lost under a sea of other things. The taste is great, but it's certainly a challenge to eat given how tall it is, and I was a little disappointed in how small the actual burger and patty were. Plus, it's got a hefty price tag at $16.00 and that doesn't include cheese (what piled-high crazy topping burger doesn't come with cheese?). Once you get upsold on the cheese and a friend egg, you are looking at something like $19.00. For that cost I would expect a giant, thick juicy burger that I struggle to finish which this certainly wasn't. Regardless, it was still really tasty and as a burger fanatic you just have to try it. Beef Noodle Soup (5/5) - My wife was VERY skeptical of getting an Asian noodle dish from a place known for burgers but she was blown away! It was incredibly delicious and the short rib was fall-apart tender. She kept raving about it so if you aren't a burger fan, give this a try. The most notable part of our experience was how INCREDIBLY friendly everyone was. We came with our dog who sat outside at the table with us. The owner was so considerate of our dog's comfort levels by asking if he could approach the table, if he could bring him a water bowl, etc. when our dog wasn't reacting to him at all. The consent was awesome and he asked the same questions to the table next to us with their dog. Not only was the owner friendly, but everyone who helped us was also exceptionally kind. It's patty of boneless short rib, blended with bacon, breaded Portobello mushroom, crispy onions, dipped pastrami, jalapenos and 310's kalbi aioli served with an artisan brioche. I added an egg and cheddar cheese. I intended to take a picture but it was so appealing i had to take a bite. Then i got lost in all the flavors and taking a picture was far from my mind. What lured me here for my first visit was those luxurious soufflé Japanese pancakes I saw on their Yelp. Only to find out it's just a weekend special and you should also call ahead to let them know because it's a process and they only have one cook that can make them. I wasn't disappointed because I had one of the best soft shell crab sandwiches called the Tokyo Po' Boy I've ever tasted. I arrived not very hungry and thinking I was just gonna have a taste and pack the rest to go for dinner later but once I took a bite I couldn't stop. It had too much lettuce for this non-bunny rabbit but kicked it off to the side and enjoyed the rest of the flavors. I couldn't decide between this or the pork belly sliders. Next time I will give those a try. The service was so friendly and felt like I came into a family friend's home. They made me feel very welcomed and comfy. OMG the staff here are the nicest people! They are friendly and super informative. Their menu is extensive and a lot of text, so if you're more of a visual person, like myself, hop on their page on Yelp to get some cool photos. It's tucked away on a sidewalk with a small sign slightly covered by their greenery. They have about 2 tables outdoors that are set up on the sidewalk. Everything is served in compostable containers and they will bring it out to you. They do have a text system where they texted me after I called and then after we dined which I'd prefer not to have or at least give me an option to opt in/out. It felt a little creepy. I ordered the Pluck Fried Rice which had pineapple (barely taste it) and minced duck. You have the option to add more protein on top like pork belly or katsu chicken. This place is delicious. We were in the neighborhood and happened to stroll in. The owners are super, super nice and in the era of QR codes and no service, a friendly, personable person is a nice change. But more importantly, the food was so good. In the days of the pandemic, Kensington Eats featured a new restaurant every few weeks, crowd-sourcing a large community order in an effort to generate revenue for local restaurants by picking up and delivering restaurant-quality meals to participating families. When Kensington Eats started up in 2020, Yelp! had just named 310 Eatery #55 in the Top 100 Best Places to Eat in America! I couldn't have been more thrilled for them because they serve up one of my favorite burgers in the area. However, once we quickly learned the trials and tribulations of take-out and delivery, the unfortunate truth was that delivery logistics would have hindered and not helped in this case. Part of the 310 Eatery experience is attempting to sink your teeth into one of its towering burgers, which is held together with a 6-inch toothpick and often accompanied by fries, fresh off the fryer, topped with melted cheese and bacon jam. Thanks to our previous experiences of transporting food up and down the windy roads of Kensington, we were confident that what we would have delivered wouldn't have done 310 Eatery justice, so we never had the opportunity to work with them. Fast forward to a couple of years after the pandemic when Yelp! once again acknowledged 310 Eatery. This time earning a new accolade in a different category - ranked #33 in the Top 100 Best Brunch Spots in California for 2022. This was the reminder I needed to pay a visit to 310 Eatery and it fell on a day that I had promised my son a burger after band practice one damp afternoon. Coming out of the rain, we were promptly greeted by Gill, 310's warm and patriarchal host. Tiffany and Erin, the masterminds of this Los Angeles-inspired restaurant, have been serving Asian-influenced, street-style comfort food since 2014. Their "Krazy Delish" Breakfast/Brunch on weekends features winners like their Temescal Sunrise French Toast with buttermilk brined and breaded fried chicken covered in country gravy or their aptly named Chocolate Monster Pancakes. While there are many options to choose from, I ordered the 405 Traffic Jam. Often called the best burger in the East Bay, it's named after a busy Los Angeles freeway (like the 310), but it's one traffic jam you'll want! It starts with a short rib and bacon patty that's then layered with a breaded portobello mushroom and crispy onions for that crunchy texture. Jalapenos and 310's signature "Kalbi Aioli" provide a little heat and some dipped pastrami to round it all out. There doesn't seem to be anything missing, however, if Gill asks if you'd like a fried egg on it - don't think about it, just say "yes" because it's a perfect compliment to the artisan brioche bun. This is where you might understand the need for a 6-inch toothpick to keep all that goodness together. With such an elaborate burger, it would have been wise to order plain fries...or a salad. However, a large picture of their Bacon Jam Fries framed directly and most definitely strategically behind our table convinced me that a plate of fries topped with kettle-cooked bacon, sweet grilled onions, and melted mozzarella was worth the "research." Because who isn't a sucker for fries that need to be eaten with a fork? Crispy, savory, sweet, and satisfying - it brought the burger and fries experience, as my son put it, "to another level." If you're not craving a burger, 310 Eatery offers plenty of options like the Tokyo Po' Boy Soft Shell Crab Sandwich or the Cross-Town Bowl which features Puck fried rice, a temescal fried chicken cutlet, and 310's original curry jam. COVID-19 Review: My family and I took our puppers to the Buchanan Dog Park and were looking for a bite to eat afterwards. We found 310 on Yelp and decided to call in to place a to-go order. The restaurant is right on San Pablo Ave and has street parking right in front. During the SIP they have both delivery and take out options. The customer service is amazing here which is nice to experience especially during these times. We came for lunch and their menu is pretty diverse. They have different burger and fries options as well as fried rice, hot dogs, sliders, noodles, and egg rolls. There's something for everyone here. My fiance and I both ordered the 310 Street Burger with cheese and grilled onions. I got the grass fed beef patty and he got the classic double patties. We also got two sides of the classic shoestring fries, one regular and one with seasoning. We were very impressed that our burgers were actually medium rare, so many places can't seem to get this right! The burgers were juicy and satisfied our burger cravings. We got the different patties to see if there was a noticeable difference and there was. If you are a burger lover, I would recommend getting the grass fed beef patty. My short rib burger was completely pink inside, like it looked like it wasn't cooked. It tasted like it wasn't cooked but I was a little confused because when I asked the owner he said that short rib meat is pink and no matter if he cooked it for more it would stay pink. This is a mom and pop business with fantastic burgers! I ordered ahead cause I was on a time crunch to get to the airport but wanted to stop by here first for a burger. My son and his sister had the traffic jam hamburger that came with hamburger, egg, cheese,mushrooms,onions and some rib meat. They both raved about the burgers. My daughter-in-law has a hurry curry burger with gluten-free bun. She said the bun was very good. She's allergic to wheat so cannot have regular buns. A monstrosity of a burger that I added an egg and cheese to. I didn't realize that there was a portobello mushroom on there which I removed as its not for me. Good fresh jalapeños on it and they pack it strong with pastrami. Also added a fried egg and cheese to it as there a few greater feelings in life than the egg busting yolk all over a burger. - Seasoned Fries - for some reason I couldn't put my finger on what the seasoning on the French fries were but it was quite enjoyable. They gave me a selection of 5 hot sauces that I put on over the fries which added to the experience. Overall 310 is a very solid spot. Biggest critique I would give is the price point.
