We were in the neighborhood one Saturday morning and popped in for lunch. It's a very casual place, easy to miss if you were just driving by. It was a nice day so we opted for one of the few outside tables. Service was friendly and attentive, that was appreciated. My wife got the 310 Street Burger and I got the Mighy Dux (duck) sliders. We also got a side of the "Hollywood Blockbuster" fries and a mango lassi. The kiddo got chicken tenders from the kids menu. We enjoyed our meal for the most part. My wife enjoyed her burger but it was stuffed with so many things that it was a bit messy to eat. The duck sliders were a unique item (note that things like grilled onions, cheese, etc are an added upcharge) and the mango lassi was a hit. The chicken tenders were okay, they had a breading that was really loose, very easy to fall off the chicken. We were a bit disappointed with the fries, definitely not a good value for the price. Thicker fries covered with a good amount of nacho cheese with jalapenos on the side. Good, but I wish we got a bigger portion of fries. I've been meaning to try this place since I was a regular at the taproom next door pre covid, so I decided to give it a go. The menu has plenty of draws being that it's a fusion style restaurant where you can get a gourmet burger and a classic Asian dish all in one stop. I went ahead and ordered what the kind gentleman suggested as the popular items and fan favorites. The traffic jam burger and the bacon jelly fries. The burger was hefty and honestly a bit of a mess to eat. Luckily for me, I'm a trained professional in the eating business. The food was properly seasoned as I expected and the burger was cooked to perfection. I thought there may have been some pineapple in the fries concoction from the super sweet taste but it could be a honey glaze of some sort. Just a heads up cause it caught me off guard. The owner/waiter told me I did an impressive job on my food since I guess most people don't finish such a tall order. We had a good laugh and I left with a smile on my face. Not the cheapest place but I came for an experience and I got it. Ugh, I hate writing 1 star reviews. The good stuff first then! The owner was really nice. At least I assume it was the owner. We've been meaning to try this place for a year or so, but we have other burger spots that we love, and the menu, while full of pizazz, really didn't seem like it was going to be worth it. I really wish we weren't right. We got there right after they opened and there was already another customer. The place was open, inviting, and somehow it felt pretty comfortable in there even though it was loud. We're not the easiest burger orderers. I'm a veggie, and I'm picky about my gardenburgers. I also love vegetables, but only the ones that I like. J is less picky, and likes more stuff, but also has some narsty food allergies. So, we're picky. But we tip well, and share the love! I don't really understand the fine dining desire to memorize orders instead of writing them down in shorthand. I get that if you are at a 5 star place that doesn't allow substitutions in any case, but, again, that's not us. We were really worried about a gluten-free bun, because that's a deal breaker if they forget it. The waiter confused himself by all of the offerings that he was proposing (also, without mentioning the upcharge for each of them. J got the grass-fed beef. What's the regular beef? Do they actually have cheaper beef there or do they just assume everyone will accept that upcharge? I don't know. She took the regular onions. I've been a vegetarian since '93, and haven't accidentally eaten any meat since '07 or so. But, I swallowed this bite of chicken instead of horking it out. That's gross, and I'm not religious or anything, but I'm not happy about it. I also wasn't happy about having no dinner! When J was finished, I confirmed that we weren't ever going back there, but she told me I had to give them a call, let them know, and get a refund. I was sad, and didn't want to, but I gave them a call. I got the guy, he remembered us from 15 minutes before, and he immediately got defensive, telling me that I didn't order the tofu. He repeated that several times. He told me that I could walk it back down to him and that he'd remake it. I asked for a refund and he repeated that it was my fault a couple more times. Oh well. Even that phone call wasn't worth it. I know how hard it is to try to run a business like this - hell, maybe this is actually a scam that people have done to him before. I don't know, and I want to think the best. But, I'm severely disappointed. I know you think I'm hungry, but I had 3 quesadillas and a bunch of trail mix! (I call it "dinner for 10 year olds.") We made the mistake of presuming the deluxe burgers and super-size fries served here were magnets for overaged frat boys suffering from Peter Pan Syndrome. Those are the bros who wear their baseball caps backwards and don't give much thought to their calorie intake. However, we corrected this egregious oversight when we were hanging out at Club Mallard directly across San Pablo Ave. After enjoying some, shall I say, libations, we found ourselves feeling quite peckish. OK, we had the drunk munchies. Much to our surprise, we came in to find an extremely friendly place with a creative orientation toward Hawaiian-style fusion by way of LA. The Hawaii-meets-LA connection showed up in concoctions like the Little Tokyo Po' Boy made with Japanese-style soft shell crab and the Pineapple 'Puck' Fried Rice with five-spice roast duck. I actually lived most of my life in Torrance, so the "310" in the restaurant name appealed to me and sparked my curiosity, haha. In addition to having named their meals with a 310 theme, they indeed have the flavors and tastes that one would associate with LA-style burgers. The restaurant on the inside was bigger than I thought, and they had very welcoming and friendly staff ready to take your order and make sure everything is A-OK. Stopped by for brunch on a Sunday. Tried the Rich and Stuffy French Toast and the Temescal Sunrise French Toast. Both dishes were creative, flavorful, fun and well executed. The stuffed French toast was crispy on the outside, and held the creamy fruit cheese extremely well. They serve with a homemade fruit compote which was superb! The chicken which is served as part of the Temescal was one of the best breaded and fried chicken breasts I've ever had. The quality and treatment of the chicken resulted in a moist, flavorful breast and the breading was light yet super crisp. The French toast was also one of my top French toasts. Her eyes were big as we split it up so she could try some. Pastrami on your burger. Who knew? The fries were okay. I didn't get them loaded so that might have been my problem. We came here today for New Year's 2022 brunch. Partner had their scrambled eggs, chicken sausages and the owner was kind enough to replace the potatoes with salad for health reasons. Partner said eggs were very good and he finished everything. I ordered their namesake burger, 310 burger. I ordered two burgers (one to go). Both medium rare (rare is not an option as it's against public health codes). I upgraded the patties to grass fed beef, an extra three dollars each. Apparently the entire burger is customized. Onions can be caramelized, grilled or raw. For the Kobe cheese, it was an additional dollar bringing my 310 burger from 12 to 16 dollars. The burger was incredibly juicy and melted in my mouth. The bacon jam gave the burger an enticing sweet flavor. The brioche bun was soft and sweet. The 310 burger truly is the best burger in the East Bay. I don't think I will eat any other burger in the Bay Area. The restaurant looks hip and has great music and would be a great place for a party or celebratory meal. It's pretty spacious and can occupy lots of people at one time. Service was great. My partner spilled water on the owner accidentally and he was really nice about it. Ummm... have you tried this place yet!? ... if you haven't, do it! What are you waiting for. I was looking for a burger place near el Cerrito just so my friend and I won't have to commute much. Right off the bat I got the bacon with jam fries... holy smokes that did not disappoint at all. The amazing jam spread all through the bacon was such a great balance of sweet and salty. I got the 310 burger it was also so juicy, and I wish I would've taken a photo after the first bite cause honestly, it was not dry. I thought the bun might overpower the burger, but it was balanced perfectly. I like a slight of a bigger crunch, so next time I'll ask for extra lettuce. I also asked for additional Aoli and well, I couldn't stop eating it. Would 100% recommend this place. The owner came by to check on us (or at least I think he was the owner). I have been hearing about this place for a long time and have been interested. I went the day after getting a burger and forgetting to order the gluten free bun. So I saw the menu, was driving by, and decided that I wanted a proper burger. It was good. I got the fries with the bacon jam and got a regular burger with a $3 gluten free bun. And it was good. The issue was me because I had a couple of stops, but didn't want to back track to get my burger. It was good and I had fries for two days. The burger was nice and warm. But it was Ok. I'm looking forward to getting a proper burger and eating it inside the joint, or this being COVID, safely in my car. I do have to say that the people who work there are totally nice. I was greeted, which I appreciated and I sat at a table with a couple of menus. The guy there was very busy as they were full, and a woman came over and took my order. Again, she was totally nice. Went a while back. Food is really tasty and the service is friendly. We had the amazing 405 burger, my son ordered the beef noodle soup and we shared some fries. I have had 310 Eatery on my must try list for months. We all finally had a chance to try this " best of" place. They're located in Albany, which is just outside of Berkeley, CA. Parking is fairly easy to find. The menu had an assortment of items from breakfast to lunch items. They sound tasty. We ordered three entrees ( see my picture of the receipt). The pancakes, a burger, and a chicken sandwich. We asked about these chocolate "monster" pancakes, and were told that it's huge and filling. It came served on a small paper plate. Prior to ordering, we were asked about the type of syrup. At no time we're we told that there would be an up-charge for two tablespoons of syrup. The pancakes were thin like crepes, and wouldn't satisfy a child. There just wasn't much there. The chicken sandwich was met with the same challenge. I was asked about the type of bun and cheese ( which came with the sandwich ) I wanted. I was never told that there would be an up charge for my choice of cheddar cheese, or my choice of bun. The sandwich was over cooked and dry. The cheese was barely noticeable. The burger ... this is what pushes me completely over the edge. We saw the up-charge for grass fed beef. I get that. The up-charges for the rest of the burger... seriously, y'all should be ashamed of yourselves. Onions come on the burger, and my son asked if they would make them more on the done side, not of the barely cooked side. He was also asked how he'd like his burger cooked. He asked for medium. ( see my receipt) we were charged for how the burger was cooked, and how the onions were cooked. Never have I ever been charged for cooking my food. It angers me as I write this. TEN DOLLARS in up-charges that we were not made aware of. The charges didn't stop there, it was the same for the cokes. Was the food worth it?!? Hell no. We ordered the Little Tokyo Po' Boy and the 405 Traffic Jam w/ egg and cheese. My favorite was the Little Tokyo Po' Boy because the soft shell crab was cooked well to a nice, crispy texture and it felt lighter than expected. The crab is a pretty delicate flavor and I like how they didn't overwhelm with too much going on so that you could still taste it. We opted to not get an egg on this one, and I think it was the right choice. The 405 Traffic Jam was also delicious and ended up being my boyfriend's favorite. First, this burger is SO tall that my mouth couldn't even wrap around it. It's honestly impressive how much they're able to put in this. With the egg, it made it much messier, but I thought it did add a mild flavor to help mellow it out. I loved the fried portobello mushroom in here, but thought the ham was just a bit too salty. This burger is also pretty greasy, so prepare to get filled up by it. Overall, really solid burgers that are a bit on the pricey side, but the toppings and flavors make up for it. The most notable part of our experience was how INCREDIBLY friendly everyone was. We came with our dog who sat outside at the table with us. The owner was so considerate of our dog's comfort levels by asking if he could approach the table, if he could bring him a water bowl, etc. when our dog wasn't reacting to him at all. The consent was awesome and he asked the same questions to the table next to us with their dog. Not only was the owner friendly, but everyone who helped us was also exceptionally kind. If this place couldn't get any better, the food was delicious. My parter and I both tried the 310's street burger and fries - everything was fantastic. The bacon jam is to die for. I got grilled onions on my burger (yum) and my partner got crispy onions (also yum). I'd recommend adding the tamarind seasoning on your fries - it's spicy, yet also has a little citrus twist! The owners are super, super nice and in the era of QR codes and no service, a friendly, personable person is a nice change. But more importantly, the food was so good. The 310 Eatery is a must if you find yourself in Albany craving a good burger. I tried this place a few years ago and I knew I had to come back to check it out and see if it lived up to my memory. The 405 Traffic Jam Burger (4/5) - This burger is worth trying if only because of how absolutely stacked it is with crazy toppings. It's almost hard to call this thing a burger as the patty is lost under a sea of other things. The taste is great, but it's certainly a challenge to eat given how tall it is, and I was a little disappointed in how small the actual burger and patty were. Plus, it's got a hefty price tag at $16.00 and that doesn't include cheese (what piled-high crazy topping burger doesn't come with cheese?). Once you get upsold on the cheese and a friend egg, you are looking at something like $19.00. For that cost I would expect a giant, thick juicy burger that I struggle to finish which this certainly wasn't. Regardless, it was still really tasty and as a burger fanatic you just have to try it. Beef Noodle Soup (5/5) - My wife was VERY skeptical of getting an Asian noodle dish from a place known for burgers but she was blown away! It was incredibly delicious and the short rib was fall-apart tender. She kept raving about it so if you aren't a burger fan, give this a try. I came here pretty much starving after a grueling hike at Tilden Park, and I loved it! You can tell that the owners really care about their customers, chatting it up with their regulars. But the owners are incredibly friendly and offer great suggestions! I got the Mexican cola, which was delicious. What lured me here for my first visit was those luxurious soufflé Japanese pancakes I saw on their Yelp. Only to find out it's just a weekend special and you should also call ahead to let them know because it's a process and they only have one cook that can make them. I wasn't disappointed because I had one of the best soft shell crab sandwiches called the Tokyo Po' Boy I've ever tasted. I arrived not very hungry and thinking I was just gonna have a taste and pack the rest to go for dinner later but once I took a bite I couldn't stop. It had too much lettuce for this non-bunny rabbit but kicked it off to the side and enjoyed the rest of the flavors. I couldn't decide between this or the pork belly sliders. Next time I will give those a try. The service was so friendly and felt like I came into a family friend's home. They made me feel very welcomed and comfy. Looks like it can get pretty busy on the weekends but luckily I was there on a Monday and it was pretty quiet. I did hear them saying they're expanding the space next door so business must be good. Hopefully good enough they can have soufflé pancakes EVERYDAY!! Lastly, only street parking but no meters and no problem finding a spot.
