Service was excellent! Our waitress was very attentive. The pumpkin -tini was good and came with the shaker and second drinks worth. The rest was not as great. The atmosphere is nice but dark - which doesn't work well when the menu is printed on cream paper in a small reddish font. One person in our group literally needed a phone light and magnifier-and they had their glasses. I already knew I wanted the chef's seasonal salad with chicken - HUGE diappointment. Not a very large bowl and really didn't match the menu description. The only good part was the chicken - about half of a breast. There were brussel sprouts-especially the hard crunchy core vs leaves. There were beets-2 super thin slices. There were figs - an EXTREMELY small one with absolutely no flavor. One small crumble of blue cheese. A few walnuts and no crispy shallots and definitely NO pear vinaigrette. No drssing at all. I asked for some "extra" dressing rather than being that complaining customer. What I got was a tiny cup of supermarket dressing. The coffee was good but as we were enjoying it the waitresses started cleaning up for closing, gathering candles from tables-including the ones where people were sitting. Granted technically they close at 9 and it was close to 9 but there were still several tables with people enjoying their stay. Clear the extra dishes before the candle and just take the candles from the empty tables. A nice waitress and good drink are not enough for me to want to go back or recommend this place. read more

This place may look nice on the outside and the decor is nice but the food and service is sub par at best. Typical Franklin, there just is not great restaurants in this area no matter how nice they look. This place is no exception. The menu here is a mess of just whatever came to mind when they planned it, chicken Parmesan, baked haddock, salmon, flatbread, lobster roll, steak tips...on and on, none of it sounding good. The appetizers are typical bar food nachos, calamari etc., ordered nachos and they were horrible, dripping oily cheese, hard no taste. How can you screw up nachos? The lobster roll I ordered was on a hot dog roll over cooked and had no taste. Even the chicken Parmesan tasted awful with sour tasting cheese and overcooked pasta. Add in service that acted like they were doing you a favor and could of cared less you were there as a customer and then the prices which were overpriced for the quality of food and the whole experience was just forgetful. I would skip this place and opt to just eat at the 99 restaurant down the street, at least you will pay less and you know what type of food you are going to get. read more

Came for dinner on Sunday, all of us enjoyed our meals. We started with the calamari which was cooked well. I was excited that they had several vegan options. I has the stuffed red peppers which were food and sat on flavorful portabella mushrooms. Mybdaughtwr had the swordfish which was moist and tasty. Finally my husband has the steaktips with mashed potatoes and green beans. The steak was cooked to his liking, tender and topped with caramelized onions. There are many reasons our dining experience was five stars today. Our waitress, Kara (maybe Cara) was friendly, efficient, polite and helped us choose a delicious dinner. We weren't starving, so Bella got the chicken and prosciutto sandwich, while I chose the famous 3 burger. To our surprise, Monday night the burgers are half-price. Our order came out very quickly and was exactly as we asked for. The hamburger, rolls, lettuce, tomato and pickles all stacked about five inches tall! What a wonderful presentation! The French fries?? OMG, there are homemade right there at 3!! Within 20 minutes, both meals were gone and we were smiling! Appetizers were also 50% off before 6pm, but we had plenty of food. Had dinner the other night and it was fantastic. Started with the chips and dip. Sounds like it would be a humble snack, but wasn't. Beautiful waffle-type potato chips made in house with a cheesy bacon fondue. I could have made a dinner out of that alone. For entree, my husband and I both had the short ribs. Really bad service tonight. Had to flag waitress down after 20 minutes to ask to put in order. She seemed put off but if I sat there I figured we would have never ordered. My wife had a gluten free menu because had celiac disease. She asked for a gluten free flatbread stating it out loud while pointing to it on the menu. It came not by our waitress but by a server. When asked if it was gluten free she said she didn't know and had to ask chef it wasn't so they needed to make a new one which took another 20 minutes. The waitress came over 5 minutes later and said sorry about the pizza I didn't know you wanted gluten free instead of saying sorry I'll try to get that to you as soon as possible. I ordered my daughters ice cream with whip creme and a cheery. It cam out with chocolate sauce all over it. One of them hates chocolate so didn't eat it. She never asked if it came out okay so my daughter did not eat it. She was not personal, was very inattentive and seemed unhappy to be there. For the price not what you would expect and well below the service we are used to at equal or lesser priced restaurants. They have gone down hill. PS - I of course paid full price and asked for no rebates and left. I also left a 20% tip but won't be going back anytime soon. read more

My husband and I went for dinner last night. He loves the place because it is somewhere close where he can get oysters. Last night they had some from Point Judith RI and were excellent. The chicken skewers with peanut sauce (one of their MANY gluten free offerings), was delicious. This spot is so amazing and I would definitely come again! The seats were very far apart from each other so we felt safe in Covid, but the outside area was still warm and toasty from the heaters as well. It had a lovely, homey ambiance. Now, the food was some of the best I've ever had! (we might've ordered a bit too much though!) There was a large selection of beer (both on tap and in bottles), as well as other drinks and wine. I went here with my husband, and he ordered a cider which was highly recommended by the waitress we were served by. It was very delicious! We tried quite a few appetizers to see what this place had to offer. First, we ordered some shrimp. It was quite good, but what we ordered next was even better. The buffalo blue cheese cauliflower was the best I have ever had and I definitely would ask that whoever reads this orders it! We also tried some crab cakes that were equally as good. The entrees we tried were so amazing, I recommend trying them to everyone. I got the bacon cheeseburger flatbread, and it was beyond words delicious! There were pickles on top, which might sound weird, but it just tied the dish together and overall I would get this again and again. My husband got the chicken parmesan and he loved it, but the most notable part (as he said) was the penne noodles with the cheesy alfredo-like sauce which reminded him of our daughter's pasta with alfredo. The Caesar salad was very good, but the croutons literally melted in your mouth and were by far the most memorable part of the salad (in the best way possible). We were so full that we didn't get dessert that night, but all of the options looked amazing. I've eaten here mostly for takeout and most recently for dinner in the restaurant. I meant to post this a few months back after my visit to the restaurant itself for dine-in. The food here is incredible! I especially love their steak tips and chicken parm! It's a really nice restaurant too that is really well run! The service is great here! On my last visit, I had the milk and cookies dessert with a spiked hot chocolate! All I can say is this is one of the best desserts I've had ever had! I can't put in words how delicious the cookies were and the drink pairing was outstanding! I hope they bring this dessert back but I'm sure their other desserts are also amazing too! I took my best friend here for dinner. If anyone knows Franklin, this restaurant is located in the same place where Pipinells used to be, they gutted the whole place out and it's very nice. Going in, I thought it was going to be pricey... We each started off with a bowl of the Lobster Corn Chowder, this was the best chowder I've had in a VERY long time as I am not a chowder person. There were HUGE pieces of lobster, the broth was very creamy, delicious & very flavorful. Entrees... We shared the Lobster Mac & Cheese and the Pasta with Bolognese Sauce, these were great for sharing and were available in half size portions, which is a plus! Lobster Mac & Cheese, again, excellent. Big pieces of lobster, mac & cheese was tangy and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the past with the bolognese sauce, when I go back there, I plan on getting this dish again and again.... Drinks. I started off with the Pineapple Martini, I thought I was drinking vodka right out of the bottle, it was VERY strong. My friend had the Watermelon Mojito, which was SUPERB!!! I loved it!!! I decided to have one of those instead. I usually drink red wine or a martini, a mojito is a leap for me but this drink quenched your thirst, the mint leaves weren't over-powerful and they actually put chunks of watermelon in your drink, I liked that touch, nice presentation. Dessert...We were a little disappointed. I love dessert more than I love food and we ordered some banana dessert....it's now listed as a sundae but we thought it was going to be something different...we realized it was a sundae when we got it...that's ok, we still ate it :) If you are ever out that way, you should check it out. My surprise at the end was the bill. For 2 apps, 2 entrees (half portions), 4 drinks and 1 dessert, with tip my total was $100. The first thing that deserves mention is the very clean bathroom at this restaurant. It was nearly spotless - which is pretty rare, even in some higher end places. This is the happenin' place in suburban, bucolic Franklin. Not too many other choices very close by if you want a bar/restaurant with a sleeker feel than the local sports bar or chain restaurant. But this seems to do a good job filling its niche. The food - not bad. My tuna tartare was OK. I sort of enjoyed the well of tuna atop avocado (hold the tomatoes). It came with 4 sauces - all eclectic variations of more traditional Asian flavorings (wasabi, sweet soy, duck sauce, spicy mayo). My friend's chicken Caesar salad was yummy - nice and light dressing on it. The brad basket had quite an assortment and came with some yummy cinnamon butter. The pleasant staff was helpful and prompt with anything we needed. One weird thing - upstairs in the second, smaller bar area (outside what appear to be banquet rooms or for overflow dinner guest when it gets crowded downstairs and the above mentioned restrooms) was a very nice, very large flat screen TV playing Law & Order. Sounds off. NO closed captioning. Don't get me wrong. I like L&O, but in a bar? especially without the sound on. Just struck me as odd and out of place. Gotta be honest, 3 breaks my heart. I want so much to like it, but every time I go the food rebuffs my goodwill. Not that it's *bad*, per se, it's just fine. But, you know, 'just fine' doesn't cut the mustard when you're paying a premium for atmosphere and wow factor. I sat across from the bar and enjoyed a tastey drink. So I went here at the recommendation of my hotel as I was in the area for work. For what's around, it's one of the nicer places. I ordered the tuna tar tar app and lobster roll for dinner. I felt like the tuna tar tar was trying too hard. I tasted onion and cucumber in the avocado which just was not pleasant. The sauce was way too much. It should have been drizzled and simple. The tempura pieces also were not good. But the tuna was actually good. The dish had too much going on and should have been a bit simpler. The dish has potential but definitely would not order again if I went. Rather than include these fried things which were not tempura and if they were they fried them in the wrong oil or used a heavy batter. Serve something like this with very thin tempura crisps to scoop the tuna. The lobster roll was ok. Not the best not the worst. The French fries were good. Decent size bar and ok bar menu. read more

Went on a Sunday afternoon for brunch with a group of 7. Service was spotty , little things forgotten like a Drink , side dish and a straw. Ordered the Eggs Benedict and it clearly had been warmed up in a microwave to the point of overcooked . The Hollandaise sauce was dried up and the eggs hard , yellow and dry inside. I was so surprised they actually tried to serve it. I sent it back and they quickly sent out a new one with poached eggs cooked correctly. I still didn't really like it , almost over spiced with a Creole style seasoning. Blood Mary was ok but didn't like cheese slice topping . Not sure I would go back here to be honest. read more

He and other friends of ours (he also works with) raved about how great the food is, so I decided to see for myself. Meh! One dish that consistently seems to impress friends is the lobster mac & cheese, so I decided to give it a try. Let me just say, I grew up in New England and have been eating lobster and separately mac&cheese my entire life and so I know good for both, when I see/eat it. I make traditional sharp cheddar and a more sophisticated mac & cheese using triple cream, havarti, and a smidge of seriously sharp cheddar - I do NOT mess around - I take homemade mac & cheese very seriously. lol So I know good, really good mac & cheese. What I got served was more like a mac & cheese I'd expect to get from a cafeteria. It was either left over from the night before or just really badly made. It was dry, elbow macaroni was undercooked and not even al dente, completely underseasoned to the point of just tasting like pasta and the measly amount of lobster in my portion was overcooked and tough. So not only did they manage to kill what should be a really easy dish to make, but they also ruined a perfectly good lobster. Both are sacrilege to me. :/ Not impressed at all. Husband gave me a bite of his filet mignon. He'd ordered it medium rare = should be cooked red warm center. What I saw and got a bite of was medium well. My husband doesn't send food back. I would have sent that filet back in a heartbeat. That is too nice a cut of meat to be served so badly. he's tried to talk me into going back to eat there with him many times and I refuse every time. No thank you. There are a lot of other great restaurants in the area who know how to properly prepare food and way better. read more
