Chicken sandwich no top bun. Make your own I guess
Stu M.

Ambiance is always good. Cool place with posters and music. Waitress super nice. Not her fault she doesn't make the stuff. Food not good. Chicken Fajitas for kids was just regular non spiced chicken with a full size tomato and lettuce. Zero taste. Waitress was nice said dessert on the house because of the meal. Cookie sundae with vanilla ice cream. Kids couldn't eat it as the cookie was raw not cooked, but nobody wanted to say anything at this point. Wife had chicken sandwich- no top bun I guess you're supposed to cut the chicken and the bread and make your own sandwich since it would take too long for the kitchen staff to do. Panko fish was ok - very average nothing to come back for. $8 Alagash was good and angry orchard But seriously an $8 beer is stupid Honestly most everyone on the car ride home felt nauseous. And all for $116 + tip (which was 20% no matter what)

Raw chicken wing

The food is uneatable. The wings were raw and cold. Also my eggplant parm (which is hard to mess up) was so gross. It was uncooked long slices of eggplant on ziti and then just sauce and cheese. As bad as it gets! I threw it all away. The only saving grace is that the beer was nice and cold.

The food was so dry and overdone. It had no taste whatsoever. What isn't shown is the California cub flatbread it was gross and cold actually everything and cold. Our service was great. She was a wonderful waitress. Was not her fault that the food was terrible.

Fishermen's Platter

This is the pinnacle of a good pub: Cozy, casual, friendly, amazing food. Met someone for lunch on a weekday. Greeted and seated immediately in a large booth. Service was great! I ordered Abbey's Awesome Fish Tacos, which lived up to their name: crispy fried haddock in warm tortilla shells with jack cheese and chipotle coleslaw. Took half home and enjoyed them again that evening! My date had The Platter: Fried Clams, scallops and haddock served with French fries, rings and coleslaw. This chef sure knows how to fry seafood! Non greasy, crispy, fresh tasting and piping hot! I had onion rings with my tacos and they were among the best I've ever eaten. The menu is pretty extensive, so can't wait to return and try something else! Get in your car right now and go there. You won't be sorry!

Small but cozy eatery/drinkery in a residential neighborhood. No parking near the building, but…read morethere's an easy lot just around the corner. Lots of knock knacks on the walls, many related to beer and trains. Deep menu of comfort food made from scratch. Good draft beer list. -- Depot Burger: Their more ambitious of two regular menu burgers (they also have some as specials) was a visual treat in a pillowy Portuguese muffin. This provided a full size patty cooked to medium rare with juices trickling from the gentle, loosely packed beef. Full-coverage Vermont cheddar added silky richness, red onion jam added contrast, and tomato and arugula added vegetation. The star, at least visually, was the bacon: crisp, yet soft and bendable, with glorious color. Flavor was even better, with a deliciously strong cure. The whole package worked beautifully. One of the better burgers I've had this year for sure. -- Fries (a $2 add-on to the burger): A big stack, hand-cut (they also have hand-cut sweet potato fries), cooked just to the point of crispness while leaving a little droop and fluff. Nicely seasoned. -- Beer: I was thrilled to see a Hill Farmstead Double Nelson on the tap list. Smooth, strong, and delicious. -- Buffalo Wings: Looked and felt a little different, so I asked. Baked, then fried, yielding some charred crust on the outside and some tenderness within. Good wings, but with great sauces: the homemade Buffalo sauce had some serious kick, some complexity (little bits of unknown herbs), and some vinegar too. Homemade blue cheese thick and zesty. On Mondays, $1 each in batches of 6 or more, and with a guest flavor on top of their interesting fleet (ginger is next). -- Quahog: A well-rounded stuffed pile with bits of chorizo crispily mixed in, served with lemon wedge. It needed it for moisture, but a formidable offering that still satisfied. -- Caesar Salad: A large one with two well-layered hunks of Romaine, with a zippy (maybe mustard-infused) dressing and a dense coverage of crispy pancetta. Numerous homemade, dice-sized, well-seasoned croutons. No additional Parm and no anchovy pieces I could detect on their, but that dressing didn't let me down. A different kind of Caesar, but a very enjoyable one. -- Steak Tips: Had as an add-on to the salad, this provided a taste without committing to a full order. These don't make my steak tips pantheon (Champions, Tuckaway Tavern, New Bridge Cafe), but decent. Cooked a bit past the medium rare but still somewhat juicy. Nice flavor too, but subtle. I wouldn't get these again; too many better things on the menu. Service at the bar was cordial and attentive on both visits. Friendly staff all around. Not everything was perfect, but so much of it was (and no duds) that it's impossible not to drop a 5 based on the overall quality of every aspect.

We were told by our server that a parking lot is available just down the next side street - close by. We had no reservation, but scored a round table facing the street. Place was homey, lots of metal signs on the wall and hanging from the ceiling. Nice menu, adult daughter had a clam chowder (very thick and tasty) and shared our meals. My significant other had a corned beef reuben with a side of truffle fries and a pickle spear - very nice reuben, plenty of meat, swiss, kraut and dressing. She and daughter who always order reubens aaid the sandwich was good. I had a Depot burger which was half lb beef, bacon, cheese and tomato. Excellent. Came w homemade chips and a spear. Server was attentive with refills, checking on our food and whether we wanted dessert. Nice place for lunch, just celebrated their 12th anniversary of being in business. Will come again for lunch or breakfast.

What is there to say? The best burgers, dogs, popcorn and slush in town at very reasonable prices. They also sell pizza from a local pizza shop which is a nice change if you're all burgered out. The pizza is always hot and fresh, too. This year they started making a very respectable grilled cheese as well. Nothing enticing you yet? Consider this: probably three nights out of seven, my husband eats one of their soft pretzels for dinner. They're awesome. The value is great. You can feed three kids for like twelve bucks. I have done it, probably far too many times than is good for anyone, but it beats negotiating bites of veggies at home with your youngest child while simultaneously screaming at your oldest to get all their baseball stuff together and into a bag because they're already 10 minutes late for warmups. We've all been there, am I right? And as for your husband, he can buy his own soft pretzel, because clearly you have enough to worry about. You can get 20 pieces of the most delicious gum in the world for a dollar. And you will definitely need all twenty pieces in a single day or night because a piece loses its flavor in about .023 seconds. If you're an adult, you spit the old one out and pop another. If you're a kid, you just jam two more into your craw to pep up the existing piece. If you think I'm kidding, take a look at some of the ballplayers in the complex. At any given moment, the average kid has 8-10 pieces shoved in their mouths. Isn't that part of the fun, though? If early-onset TMJ isn't your thing, but you still want something sweet, they have lots of delicious candy and soda too. The people who work there are all great. Mostly a volunteer staff of parents and surprisingly unsurly teens. Rooney's: come for the food, stay for the opportunity to get hit by a foul ball from a game you're not even watching.

We ordered the chicken Mediterranean wrap and an order of French fries. Everything was ready when we arrived, and it only took about 10 minutes from the time I called, which was great! Let me just say, the fries were AMAZING! They're fresh-cut and cooked well-done, just the way I like them. Honestly, I could go back just for the fries alone! The wraps were served cold, which caught me off guard a little. My coworker mentioned that Mediterranean sandwiches are usually served cold, so that may just be a personal preference thing. I'm someone who prefers warm chicken, so I wish I had known beforehand and asked if it could be warmed up. The restaurant itself has that little hole-in-the-wall vibe, which I usually associate with some really good food, and this place definitely delivered on that! Customer service was great, the food was good, and I like that even though it's a barbecue restaurant, they offer other options too. My only wish is that they offered brisket because that's my absolute favorite barbecue food! Overall, we had a good experience, and I'd definitely come back again. Next time, I'm getting those fries for sure!

I ordered the Mediterranean grilled chicken wrap, which was good overall. The dressing was very watery, and there was way too much of it on the wrap. Next time, I would definitely ask for it on the side as it did have a good taste. The chicken was also served completely cold, which may be how this type of wrap is normally prepared, but I would personally prefer it warmed up a little. The fries were definitely a highlight. They were fresh, hand-cut and had a delicious salty flavor. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would come back again. With a few small adjustments to my order next time, I think it would be even better!
