Rye toast, tomatoes, western omlette, biodegradable fork and knife
Wendy T.

This is the first time I tried this place. It was recommended on my skip the dishes app. I got it delivered so I don't know how it looks inside. The service is fast I would say. I got my food within half an hour and that includes the driver's time to get to me. I got the western omlette. Interesting, there's a $3 price increase on the app. According to photos of the menu I found, it is $14.99. I got it with a side of 4 tomato slices (instead of home fries or french fries) and rye bread with peanut butter. The omlette was pretty big and seasoned to my liking. The tomato slices were thick. And the rye bread is fine, nicely buttered. They gave the biodegradable utensils. Although there were grooves on the knife, it didn't cut through the omlette easily. But when I ate the omlette, it was soft.

This is an open kitchen breakfast restaurant on Yonge, it's always busy. We came in Saturday at noon and parked at the back and go through a back door. Eggs with ham and sausage ,+salad 4/5 D coffee 4/5 Overall good experience, really enjoyed their old school style and live vibes here

Still a fantastic neighborhood retro diner, it's like time has stood still since my last visit almost 2 years ago. Service staff still friendly and efficient. Sad reality as prices are also higher. Corned beef sandwich was on point, plenty of meat, home fries could use a bit more seasoning. Ordered the roast beef plate. For the price, could have been a little more generous with the protein and gravy (2 years ago larger portions!) mash potatoes were real and flavorful. People say the future looks bright but I'd rather be living in the past

This is our favorite breakfast place! It has very local vibes and a diner type feel. The place is not super big and is always busy but we haven't waited more than 5 mins for a table. Cute simple food and price used to be better but still good food for normal price. Servers are good and food comes out fast. We didn't get a milkshake this time but they are super tasty! Good place to checkout that has old school breakfast vibes no fusion blend or anything just good quality food.

Peameal Eggs Benny and Big Breakfast.

3 Coins is a typical diner with only breakfast and a lunch menu. The food is quite good and cheap for brunch (compared to other chain brunch places). The portions were decent for the price (I couldn't finish my home fries and the pancakes). The reviews are mostly about their bennies (and I love bennies) so of course I got that. Also tried the Big Breakfast which includes bacon, sausage, ham, three eggs, home fries, pancake, and toast (big breakfast indeed). 1) Peameal Egg Benedict The poached eggs were cooked in a mould so it had that perfect round shape. I asked for medium poached and it came just as I ordered it (which was great). The hollandaise was surprisingly not that bad and I did enjoy it. The home fries were regular but home fries are always good. 2) Big Breakfast It's standard; the bacon and fries were great, the others, not so much. The eggs were cooked over easy. The pancake was okay, just regular pancake (not that fluffy though). Overall, I think the food at the diner was good and cheap. Service was okay, the food took a bit to come but I get it, they were quite busy (it's pretty small and I think there was only one server). I would want to try their sandwiches next time (I think I saw roast beef was a popular dish too).

We have been to this all day breakfast restaurant for many years. Speed of service had always been good until today. As I am writing this review, we are still in the restaurant, waiting for our food for over 45 mins! Still no signs of our breakfast, and another table that was after us got their food before ours! Seriously???? If anyone is thinking of coming to the restaurant brace yourself foe a good long wait, or go somewhere else. The food however is good...

What's your definition of a 'Greasy Spoon?' Well if you are pondering this mystifying question then look no further than 3 Coins- a true breakfast fixture in the downtown area of the "Hill," you get what you expect, a hearty breakfast at a reasonable cost, bottomless cups of Joe, all while seated at a throwback booth when times were simpler. Arriving in the small entrance, one of the servers threw us a cursory glance and were then treated to a much gentler version quickly managing several tables in the back. Loud, bustling with millenials hungrily chow downing on 3 Egg scrambles, we placed our order and waited quite a bit while the poor line cooks tried to keep up. The food is good, non pretentious fare 5hst fills you up at a reasonable cost. Compared to the $20 eggs Benedict at Hunter Landing a whole back, the smoked salmon bene is twice the size at half the price. Moreover, it was perfectly cooked and came with awesome breakfast potatoes. Forthe three of us, about $40 which included alsome turkey bacon on the side. A middle of the road staple of Richmond Hill, good honest food in a dated environment. -Zuk

Can you believe that after living in RH for over 20 yrs I have never been here??? Yes I am living a deprived life! I was going to start by calling this place the original greasy spoon breakfast place in Richmond Hill BUT I can't because there is no grease! The over and easy eggs did not have a fine layer of grease on my plates and my tasty home fries did not any yummy oil coating the sides. What disappointment :) Back to the drawing board! In the meantime, I will listen to music on my personal juke box at my booth while I enjoy my no grease breakfast with my coffee and non-burnt toast while I figure out how to write a review on this greasy spoon!

Very old"personal" juke box at each table

A very traditional back in the days diner that everyone should experience at least once. A lot of the furniture was well maintained including the individual jukeboxes at the booths. It's a small diner therefore amount of seating and hallway spaces were limited. We went on Father's Day and had to wait about 30-45 mins in the heat (minimal AC). FOOD: - Roasted beef + gravy was a delicious combination. They advertised on their logo that they have the best roasted beef and they did not lie. Never chewy, easy to bite into. The homemade coleslaw was very homemade as not a lot of flavour compared to the ones from the stores. - Home fries was seasoned well, you don't need ketchup at all. SERVICE: - not as organized. When you see people lining up, you would have thought to leave a name on the list, but nope. They just let you stand and wait, when there's an open table, they asked how many in each party and if it fits the table then they will be served.

Eggs Benedict
Ariel L.

We ordered the eggs benny and Montreal smoked meat sandwich. The eggs benny was served with "poached" eggs that were cooked in molds and did not have the silky, runny consistency that properly poached eggs should have - instead, what we received was more akin to two hard boiled eggs sat atop two halves of an English muffin (see photo). The home fries that accompanied the main was seasoned well, however only around 30% of the potatoes were crisped on the outside. This dish did not offer the textural experience that I usually get when I order an eggs benedict so this was a bit of a letdown. As for the Montreal smoked meat sandwich, the meat was dry and the rye bread was soggy (due in part to the steam that accumulated in the takeout box). In terms of flavour, it was not the best. I did, however, like that it was served with both coleslaw and a salad (or fries, if that's your preference). Reasonably priced overall, but I would steer clear of these two menu offerings and opt for something else.

Breakfast special.

Best Breakfast in Richmond Hill and Thornhill, how I found this place I have no idea but obviously at some point it peaked my interest. We were by far not alone in our idea to check this place out on a Wednesday afternoon as it was packed and only chairs at the bar were found. They did not make their customers seemed rushed which is a nice element. The 50's diner decor makes for some fun observations. It is an open kitchen concept which keeps staff/chefs accountable. Menu consists of cheap, typical breakfast and lunch fare. Meals are brought quickly and cooked perfectly. Both my dad and I had the breakfast special (3 eggs, bacon/sausage, home fries and toast). Most of the breakfast was top notch. Dad's home fries were better than mine but otherwise no complaints. Price point is extremely reasonable. Definitely considering a return to this place in the future!

The gentleman was incredibly nice in explaining what the top favs were and was even nice to allow me to add an ingredient, as one of my spuds had something removed (no coleslaw for me). My order consisted of Mexican Fiesta and Nashville Chick. My husband took his Mexican fiesta potato as is, but I ended up switching my pulled chicken for fried chicken. The potatoes were amazing! The base potato was so flavourful and not bland at all, evenly seasoned on its own without the toppings. The toppers were delicious and went well with the spud. It hasn't even been a week, and I'm already jonesing for my next potato bar experience.

If you enjoy Popeye's chicken sandwich, then you're going to LOVE Mary Brown's chicken sandwich…read more It's hands-down my favourite chicken sandwich right now. The chicken they use is perfectly cooked and moist and the batter is so light and crispy. They even put a pickle slice on the top of the bun like it's a crown (or more like a tiara). Speaking of the bun, MB also gets this right with their soft and cushiony bun that melts in your mouth with the succulent chicken. Honestly, this is one of the best burger buns ive had in a while! I bought a couple of their chicken sandwiches for $4.99 each as their Monday special. Another customer was mentioning how their special used to be $3.99. That's inflation for ya. I also tried their 2 piece combo with potato wedges (on a different day. I'm not a pig). The 2 piece was really tasty however not as mind blowing as their chicken sandwich IMO. Their wedges are actually amazing with their high amounts of powder seasoning. It's like the Doritos of wedges when it comes to more seasoning. The insides were potatoey which was a nice contrast when chewed with the crispy flavourful exterior. This is a fairly new location. I'm surprised no one reviewed them yet. They're located in the Longo's plaza, across the street from McDonalds.

Food This place specializes cupbop - which actually is a classic staple street style food in Korean. It's kind of like a bibimbap, something you add together and mix it up. But cupbop usually also have macaroni salad, stir fried kimchi and a choice of protein like spam, pork, beef. It is a very hearty bowl, definitely good portion size and filling. And it's only $12.99 - that's pretty affordable in this current economy. Besides cupbop, they have street style Korean snacks like their toast, skewers and I think they started doing tteokbokki too. Honestly, this is a small business that deserves more recognition and it is very convenient for kids across the school and anybody in the neighbourhood.
