My son ordered the super breakfast. The 1/2 waffle was nice and eggs over easy were done to perfection. But The reason for this 5 star glowing review was because of the server. The server was a young male, who didn't look like he had a lot of experience. However He was fast friendly and always smiling and accommodating. When I asked for peanut butter for the toast, he got it right away. Same for when I asked for extra napkins. And to top it off he came to refill out water not once but twice without me asking. What set him apart was, he not only gave us extremely great service, but I observed him treat all the other customers with the same level of service as well. All done with a warm and greeting smile. We came here for breakfast on our last day in Toronto. The restaurant felt welcoming, and the staff were super nice & friendly. We got the sunset breakfast poutine, southwest chicken wrap, sunset waffle, and corned beef hash with eggs, home fries & toast plus an iced coffee. This was a very unique spot that put their own take on breakfast foods. All the food tasted good, portions were beyond large and decorated with modern twists. Came by for breakfast the other day and it was a decent experience. Sunset Grill opens at 7 am and has plenty of parking available in the private parking lot. The restaurant was bright and clean. Staff wore a uniform. Did the #3 breakfast special and it was a decent experience. The eggs were fresh and the sausages were flavorful and not too oily. The toast slices were buttered to perfection and the side of potatoes on the side weren't too oily either. Staff came by to check-in after the meal came out. Prices has gone up since Covid but otherwise quality of food is good and portions are generous. Eggs can be made your way, overall good cook and will be able to tailor to your preference. Not overly seasoned potatoes and can get quite addictive. I really enjoyed their omelette as it's quite fluffy with a slight textural component but not dry or too firm. Pancakes are light and fluffy, I do prefer mine with more lift but can definitely eat more of these in one go! if you want a good western style breakfast then definitely check them out. Breakfast of champions!! We had: Salmon Eggs Sunset: this consisted of three eggs over easy with smoked salmon on English muffins, topped with Hollandaise sauce and served with home fries. If you have known me for at least a couple of months, you know that I love Sunset Grill. It is my favourite place to get French toast. It is highly consistent no matter the location I visit. For a few years, Markham had suffered from not having a Sunset Grill. You'd see me flock to Waterloo, Scarborough, and Mississauga to get my fix. Maybe the French toast gods and goddesses had heard me. Markham has been graced with TWO locations. I have been meaning to visit this one on Woodbine Avenue, just north of 16th Avenue, for a while. I got my chance on Monday. It wasn't all that busy. Most folks had made their way downtown to cheer on the Raptors. With a congested nose and a cold that was starting to die, I decided to watch it on television later in the day. My heart was there in spirit. I didn't want to start the Raptors cold. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a friendly man. He asked how I was. He also asked me to sit where I'd like. Nice! My server approached me. She asked if I wanted anything to drink or if I wanted to look at the menu. It was around 9 am. I had already had my tea earlier. I went with a Diet Coke. Yes, I can drink pop at any time of day. I got it in a glass with ice, which is how all Sunset Grill locations do it. Again, this franchise is consistent. I ordered my usual. I got three slices of French toast and a side order of corned beef hash. I rarely deviate from this pattern, unless there is something special on the menu (crab eggs benedict and pancakes come to mind). My server, Rebecca, was friendly, polite, and extremely competent. She got me my maple syrup. She asked me if I wanted a newspaper. I haven't read a real one in ages. It was nice to flip real pages of the Toronto Star. Man, it is slim in width these days, but remains packed with the information that I need. My food came. I was ready to dig in. The French toast was amazingly delicious, as always. It was simply perfect. I got a lot of corned beef hash. I loved every bite that I shovelled into my mouth. Yum! The women's washroom is extremely clean. There is only a single stall. I went to pay for my meal. My server helped with my credit card payment. I thanked her for everything. She appreciated it and wished me a good day. I reciprocated. This review is long! Thanks Yelp for helping us find a casual breakfast spot! We arrived around 9:30 a.m. on a weekend, so there was no lineup. I know restaurants tend to get busy, and they would rather sit two people at a two-top, rather than a table for four. We were glad our server gave us a choice of where to sit. We were pleasantly surprised at how super clean, bright and airy the place is. My husband said he loved the décor, and the ambience was very cozy and inviting. He said it felt like we were having breakfast at home, minus the floor to ceiling windows, the cooking and cleanup. The coffee is a medium roast and being a bit of a coffee snob, my husband said it was okay. Raw brown sugar was available - bonus! This location of Sunset Grill is one of many new eateries that have opened up in a new plaza strip at Woodbine Avenue and Highway 7. I love how the restaurants are each brand new occupants and reflect different cuisines! I have been to one other Sunset Grill before (many years ago which was in Richmond Hill near Elgin Mills). We arrived here for a late Sunday lunch and this new restaurant was cheerfully packed with lots of patrons. There was a "Please seat yourself" sign which we happily obliged. This was nice so that we could avoid sitting at a too-tight table and choose to have a four-seater table to ourselves. Shortly after we sat ourselves, a very friendly server came by to provide us with the menus and to take our drink orders. She was so warm and attentive throughout our entire visit. Sunset Grill serves all breakfast and brunch food items. There are lots of classic items to choose from. After ordering, our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. This is a great family style restaurant. It seems like the target audience is families and small groups. My classic Florentine Omelette had baby spinach, Swiss cheese, and onions with a side of home fries and thick toast (you can choose from white, brown, Rye, or Pumpernickel). I was really impressed with the size of the omelette! It was really substantial and hefty. The omelette was really great and I loved the baby spinach in it. It wasn't overly savory or salty (so you might want to add salt and pepper). The home fries were really tasty -- chopped up in small pieces and salty the way I like it. I chose the brown toast which was nicely buttered and halved. K chose an order of Three Eggs (scrambled) with Peameal Style Bacon. The eggs also came with a side of home fries and thick toast. We were pretty excited to come here for the first time. As the food was decent, the service was just meh. While everyone was friendly, I felt like our table of 2 kept getting forgotten. Not sure if our server was new or just overwhelmed by the Sunday morning crowd, but tables that were seated after us were getting their drinks/food before us. I would say that it is quite expensive for breakfast food and you should expect to spend over $10. i chose to get the avacado toast which was about $7 or $8 and it includes olives feta cheese and onions too. I chose to take out the olives. the food came quickly and I was surprised on the side as it was quite small. typically at other places avocado toast included a side but this one didn't. the taste itself was yummy and the toppings complimented the toast well. This place exceeded my expectations because of the attentive staff and great service. The staff is very friendly and check in on us a few times to make sure everything is ok, and refill the coffee many times. I feel like I haven't had this kind of service in a long time unless it's at a very expensive restaurant. The atmosphere here is very comfortable and it is very spacious inside. Popped into this location with a couple of my colleagues for lunch, as we wanted to check it out after trying the other food establishments in the plaza. Didn't have to wait for a table and we could seat ourselves. Cozy and comfortable vibe, especially when you start digging into the all-day breakfast. I ordered the Sunset Super with sausages, eggs over easy. I found the home fries a tad salty but the eggs and pancakes were cooked well. Pancakes were large and fluffy but my favourite were the sausages, which though a bit well done, were meaty and not greasy. It was quite the large plate and ended up doing a doggie bag with the leftovers. My colleague also had the Mediterranean omelette which she did not have any complaints about. Came here again on the weekend with the family for brunch. Smiles all around from our server, regular coffee refills, and full bellies started our day off very nicely. The atmosphere is clean and comfortable for sitting. The music in the background is not too loud. The cutlery is extremely clean and the washrooms are clean as well. My guest ordered the Three eggs special with sausages. It included toast and home fries. We also got unlimited coffee. The home fries were perfect as they had a good amount of salt and were soft. The sausages were tender and could cut through with a fork. The pancakes were freshly made and were up to regular standards. Only downside was that the server forgot our original order. She came back to us after 25 minutes passed by and asked us for our order once again as she forgot to put in our original order into the system. We ended up waiting almost 40 minutes for our food. However, I chalk it up to jitters from the place just opening a week ago, so I didn't hold it against her as she did apologize and they made sure to check up on us to refill our coffee. Loved chatting with the owner and I'm rooting for them as a small business. All day breakfast was needed in the neighbourhood. We arrived at Sunset around 10/11 am and was seated quickly in a booth. Service was excellent and greeted us warmly throughout our stay. We ordered some peameal bacon, potatoes, three large eggs, and toast (you can choose how you want them prepared) and the other had sausages instead of peameal. 2.5 Unlike other yelpers, I wasn't too pleased with my experience at Sunset Grill. I came here early Sunday morning with an abundance of tables. They seated us at a 2 people table, which is noticeably smaller than most restaurants. (My bf's elbow would be 4inches out in the aisle area). I noticed this is the case for their 4people tables too, where the person on the outside would be half in the walking area.. I don't appreciate their choice of furniture, especially when they will be stingy about letting groups of 2 sit at 4 people tables even when it's not busy. Food is pretty standard for Sunset Grill, your regular breakfast food for ~$12 a person. It's options are less healthy and more budget friendly than Cora's. Offerings are the usual with pancakes/sausages/bacon/eggs etc. Cook on the eggs and home fries are better than an Eggsmart...but all in all, it's standard breakfast food, no super creative IG worthy plating, just basic comfort food. Service was also a no for me, since servers actively try to take your dishes to the point that it's intrusive to your conversation. I also found maple syrup going on my sleeve from an uncleaned blob left from previous diners at the edge of the table (before my food arrived). Being no stranger to the Sunset Grill franchise or any chain breakfast/brunch restaurant, I find the general experience sub par and would prefer going to a familiar and consistent place. For those who thinks my review is harsh for "delicious food" - I feel anyone with entry level cooking skills can whip up an equivalently delicious breakfast for 2 under $6 in cost. The reason why these restaurants can charge upwards of $10 per person for basic, easy food is that they take the kerfuffle out of it all and leave you with a pleasant, relaxing morning so I can get on with my weekend. Delicious food is an expected pre-requisite if the menu lacks creativity and only sells on good ol' eggs & bacon. Nice and convenient location about a block or two north of the Shell gas station on Woodbine and Hwy 7. There is a new strip plaza of restuarants. This Sunset Grill location is last most north unit of the plaza which has the advantage of giving them all glass windows to let in the morning sun. Plenty of space if you want to come with a family of four or just yourself, but I'm sure it does fill up fast on the weekend if everyone drops by. I have a habit of trying eggs Benedict wherever it is offered ever since I loved Golden Griddle back in the day at Woodbine and Steeles, their food okay but tasty....their hollandaise sauce was amazing. Everything food wise was prepared perfectly, just the hollandaise sauce was bland. But perfectly made poached eggs and peameal bacon, with the side of home fries. I'm glad theres a place that serves basic breakfast at decent prices.....I'm like so over Coras prices like what $25 for breakfast....forget it, come here instead. Bacon pieces were thick cut and not ovey dry or stiff. Poached eggs soft were juicy. The home fries are not the soft and starchy pieces that are usually served in other breakfast places. Came on a Saturday afternoon and it was busy as all the seats were pretty much taken. Service was a little slow to begin with and no one really greeted us when we sat down. Food was good not too salty and the pancakes were fluffy. Some of the tables were small so having 2 - 4 plates of food was a bit tricky but we made it work. Pleasantly surprised by the friendly service and quality of the food. The eggs were delicious and the potatoes were perfectly-seasoned. The pancakes were really fluffy and overall the portions are pretty big (you get a lot of bacon and sausages in comparison to other brunch places). There aren't as many "unique" brunch selections like Cora's or Alchemy Coffee but if you're looking for a simple and satisfying brunch, Sunset Grill is a great choice. You can't go wrong with that food. Very Basic but very good. All the breakfast class are there and a few extras . The place is very clean and the staff is very kind. You can ask for a few breakfasts that are not on the menu. If you love a good breakfast, this is the plate to go. read more

Located in the new plaza just north of Hwy 7. Fantastic location but parking can be tricky during busy hours. Not my first experience with the sunset grill franchise. I do have to say not all of the restaurant provide the same level of quality, so I do have certain sunset grills that I will normally visit on a regular basis. This one I will say has been now been added to my list of regulars. It is new so this location is very clean and everything is still very new. The service was quite good. I do though felt they probably could've set up my table for 7 a little quicker. We were always asked regarding coffee and hot water refills which I really appreciate at these types of brunch spots. Food was not bad they were able to execute the eggs on point which let's be honest here the main concern in most cases anyways :) will be returning as one of my favorite sunset grill locations. read more

This is our FAVOURITE SUNSET GRILL location ever! The food is always delicious, the service is EXCEPTIONAL. 100% as always. The restaurant is extremely clean, you can tell the staff and management really take pride in their service. I can't stress enough how much I love the atmosphere in this restaurant, happy staff and the service they provide. This restaurant notices the little stuff like wobbly tables are leveled with little pieces of cardboard underneath, putting sticky syrup dispensers on plates so the table stays clean. Little things like this matter so much for a great experience. I asked to speak to the manager when we were paying to provide my positive feedback and the cashier said that they were short staff so the manager was helping in the kitchen! I came here Sunday morning around 9:30ish and was seated promptly. This sunset grill location opened recently so everything is super clean and tidy. The moment you walk in, you are greeted with the smell of eggs and sausages and warm staff saying good morning My partner ordered the crab cakes Benedict while I had the real Canadian omelette. Portions are huge and everything tasted fresh and delicious, I love that the home fries were healthy and not overly fried or salted. Also couldn't leave without some pancakes so we ordered the kids size of 2 pieces. Pancakes were nice and fluffy! Yummmm The place does fill up quickly after 10 so it was nice and lively Overall amazing service and good food! Will def be back again! Keep up everything you are doing! read more
