Open till 9 next week, they will have a new dinner menu. I'm looking forward to it. We had our usual breakfast and burger with fries. I'm always happy, the food is hot and fresh. They have a new cook, but the owners dad is still there. We tried the wings that are available all day . My husband was so happy with breakfast wings. The variety of sauces are extensive and some are made in house. The spicy sauce was good, didn't just have heat, it had flavour. The fries are like the ones at the Costco food court. They stay crispy. The prices are very reasonable and I'm looking forward to trying the chicken souvlaki. It's a family run business and the service is excellent. They are really nice people. They recognize you, greet you. It feels like very welcoming. The eating area is a bit dated: it's an old coffee time, but it's clean, comfortable, has a tv on city. I'm looking forward to eating in, but ordering wings for takeout is going to be great.

=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE Going off the beaten path has its rewards with Tom's: good food cheap, fast, and with great service! === 2. FOOD It's all day breakfast a few days in a row for me and it's a winner on price, quantity, and taste: Tom's Special Breakfast ($6.99) Three eggs, home fries (think freshly cut potatoes cut into chunks), choice of toast, and your choice of ham, bacon, or sausage. Peameal & Eggs ($7.99) Same as above with your choice of meat being peameal - really three pieces of Canadian back bacon. Mushroom Omelette ($11.99) Good, but not as good value as the above dishes. Here, the three eggs are combined with fresh mushrooms and cheese for one giant omelette, accompanied by the home fries and choice of toast. === 3. SERVICE Its cafeteria-stye service to an extent: order and pay at the counter and your meal is brought to your table on a tray. The service was not only professional, but great starting with my second visit on the second day, wherein my preferences for peanut butter, beverage, and toast were remembered and instantly fulfilled! === 4. ENVIRONMENT Think of a cafeteria counter with a bunch of tables and chairs in a hole-in-the-wall place with a large screen TV showing what might be the news or a sporting event. Small to medium-sized groups fit here - and if you get in the front door, you would be able to bring a baby stroller but a wheelchair may be challenged with the limited space between tables. Parking is plentiful in the lot outside.

Another cool find! In the middle of an industrial area, and serving mostly workers from around the block, this mom & pop diner pleasantly surprised us! Affordable and tasty! They got my eggs (over medium) cooked properly! Even places like eggsmart and sunset grill have problems with that order. $6.99 + coffee (as of March 2023) Not bad at all! My only gripe is that coffee cake in a take out cup, and not a mug. But the coffee itself was hot and fresh

Solid 3.5 stars. There is quite the selection of food offered here. There is plenty of parking, seating on patio or inside with a TV tuned to CP24. Staff is very friendly and take pride is their craft. I indulged in their 4.49 breakfast special with the coffee add on 1.33. Total was 6.50 amd the eggs were cooked perfectly! Sausages had a nice snap and plenty jour juicy, the home fries had good flavour but not the hottest ( mind you I was having breakfast at 10:45am) Even the coffee was yummy. I look forward to my next visit to try out their other offerings

Turn right on Esna Park on Denison and you will find this humble diner that opens from 5am to 5pm everyday. My beau and I were looking for a quick meal before work today and I did not feel like cooking, so I brought him here instead. Most restaurants or establishments are not open until 8am, so options were limited. We arrived at 6 and there were some guests inside already. The decor of this diner is very minimal and reminds me of the 80s or 90s, and it is the type of place I would hardly ever set foot in, but it served its purpose for a quick and early meal. My beau ordered their All-Day Breakfast item that has 3 eggs, 3 pieces of bacon, home fries and toast all for only $5! For myself I ordered their fish and chip, which came with coleslaw, tartar sauce and half a plate worth of fries. The fish was the kind you get warmed up from the freezer and was more of rectangular brick... the breading was but thick for me, and it costs $8, too, so not that great of a deal. Then again, there is nothing else that I can order here besides soups and salads, but still, I like to support local establishments now and then. The place is clean overall and they serve you your food even though you order from the counter, so it is not that bad. Just not what I am used to, but for those in a rush or in need of a quick meal before work this place meets that need. Service here was fast but not rushed. All the staff work hard and are quick on their feet behind the counter, too. I would probably stick with my usual breakfast places, though. This was more of a random spur of the moment thing, since I usually have pickier standards. The washroom, however, has an incredibly loud fan or air conditioning/filtration system, which almost gave me a headache, but upon returning to my beau, I saw a glass of water in front of him that was not there before. Apparently, one of the staff noticed that he was having a dry cough even though we both got juices, so she gave him a glass of water to make him feel more comfortable. It was a small gesture but it was still rather nice of her.

Hole in the wall but no hole in your wallet ;) Family-Ran VERY dated restaurant. Came here for breakfast and a bagel and they didn't disappoint! The value is totally there, I got a chocolate milk, bagel with cream cheese, and a breakfast special and only spent $10 and change. They use large eggs which is nice to see, the sausages had a nice little crunch to them and were quite tasty as well, home fries were a little soft for my liking. The bagel was toasted perfectly and had an adequate amount of cream cheese. No complaints whatsoever in the food department. Service is friendly as they always make sure you have everything needed. I noticed the staff would have coffee ready for regulars and know exactly how they want it. People come back here for a reason. The only thing is the restaurant is old and with CP24 playing in the background there's a old-er vibe to it going on. I mean if you're coming for the food than this shouldn't bother you as it didn't bother me l, just something I noticed.

    Standard breakfast special $4.49!

I can see why they have been in business this long. I ordered a regular size veal sandwich and added mozzarella cheese. Total bill came out to $10-$11 or something. A little pricey but "OMG" was this sandwich special. The employee (I gather who was also the owner) gave me suggestions and upon choosing the veal, I saw him bread it and cook it upon ordering. That's beyond fresh!!! The bun it came on had a hard crust and soft in the middle. The cheese melted upon opening the sandwich....Mmmm.... Cheese melt!! They well deserve this 5 stars And I will be back for more. I definitely recommend this place for your Italian sandwiches!!

A couple of Saturdays ago, I had the weirdest veal cutlet sandwich that I have ever consumed. This experience made me crave real veal in a yummy sandwich with marinara sauce. My usual go-to veal sandwich place is California Sandwiches. I have the option of hitting Ajax, Vaughan, or Toronto to get my fix. I need at least half an hour to get to any of these locations. I found East Street Sandwiches on Ritual. My eyes zoned into the veal sandwich immediately. I added mushrooms to it, which is my usual way that I like it. I saw arancini on the menu. The last time I had some was last year and it was horrible. The rice was so hard that I peeled it off as if it were the shell of a hard-boiled egg. The filling wasn't anything to write home about. I ordered the meat and peas arancino here, hoping that it wouldn't suck. I had plans to hit Richmond Hill last Wednesday anyway. It was perfect to grab some takeout for dinner before heading home. The eatery is tucked away in a small plaza with Fat Bastard and a few other places. There were guys cleaning the parking lot, so half the spaces were taken. I waited for two cars to leave this parking lot so I could park. One got out quickly. The person in other one looked so confused and was so inexperienced as a driver that I had to wait until this person got her act together. I then backed into a spot and headed inside. The most comforting detail that I saw on the window was that this place has been kicking around since 1978. If a place has been in business for that long, the food must be great. I headed inside. I was greeted by Bruce Springsteen on the wall. It was cool. An older gentleman was behind the counter. He was so nice. I indicated that I had a Ritual order. He handed me a paper bag with my items with both hands. I thanked him. I could tell by the look in his eyes that he was pleased to see a human being. I looked so forward to eating my food, wished him a great evening, and headed back to my car. I had one other errand to run. After I was done, I headed home to chow down. I had my veal sandwich first. Delicious! The veal as lightly breaded and had marinara sauce. I tend to like lots of sauce. This place doesn't smother the veal with tons of it. At first, I was concerned. However, the marinara sauce was so bright and flavourful that having less of it actually works perfectly. It was the first time eating a veal sandwich neatly. The bun was perfect. I normally look like a kid eating it without a bib. Not here. Yum! The meat and peas arancino was fantastic. The rice was lightly sticky and so good. I normally don't go crazy over rice, but I loved it so much. It's a decent size. The filling was yummy. The only negative that I can think of was that I did not see any peas. Maybe they were pureed? I couldn't tell. It wasn't horrible, as the flavourful meat filling made up for not seeing any peas. I am no longer afraid to get bad arancini now that I have found this place. Such a gem in Richmond Hill! It's much closer to get my veal sandwich fix here. Huge fan! I'll be back for more sandwiches and arancini. (353)

It is a small cafe that serves coffee, snacks, and quick bites. The father-daughter duo who runs the store were always welcoming, friendly and personable. They also seem to know regular customers' orders by heart ;) I usually order a medium coffee which is $1.50 tax included. You can choose the regular coffee blend or roasted hazelnut blend. The hazelnut one is my favourite, and it smells so heavenly ^^ For lunch, I usually get a freshly made sandwich for $4 tax included. The portion is huge (for me!), you can add sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce and other toppings at no additional cost. My coworker and I usually enjoy the egg salad sandwich, tuna salad sandwich, and chicken salad sandwich :) Secret menu item (well, not so secret anymore!) Beef patty ($1.50 tax in.) is not on the menu but you can certainly order it. I always have random beef patty craving moments lol. You can also have it stuffed apparently! My coworker was telling me how delicious a stuffed beef patty was lol. You can stuff it with the usual - sliced tomatoes, cucumber, plus other favourite toppings. I shall order that another time ^^ Not sure how much it cost but I'm sure it can't be too far off. This cafe also serves a specialty Indian hot dish everyday. I often hear them offer butter chicken served with rice for lunch (I think around $6 or $6.50... can't rmb exactly). Huge portions with great affordable prices. I'm definitely a happy returning customer :) P.S. Hours of operation - Monday to Friday from 8am to 3:30pm - mainly during office hours.

It looked nothing like the cheeseburger from Burger Factory that's posted online. The patty was not even thick at all! I received a thin patty which contained cheese but I had to get to the center of the burger to get a bit of cheese oozing out. The rest of the patty was essentially a Mc D caliber patty. If you look at the pic I posted, the meat to bun ratio was also totally off. The bun was bigger than the meat so I had bites where I was literally just eating thick bread and veggies. The cheeseburger photos show big chunky meat patties so I'm wondering if I got an employee who didn't really know what he was doing? I opted for a combo and got mac n' cheese bites as my side. These were exceptionally disappointing. I'm no mac expert but I'd be willing to bet a dollar that they use Kraft dinner in these mac n' cheese bites. Overly salty, overly processed. No dipping sauce, just came with two ketchup packets on the side. For a meal that hit me for over $20 I truly felt ripped off. This combo was NOT worth $20+. I had a double Shack burger from Shake Shack literally a week prior to eating here and that burger was MILES better and way more "gourmet" tasting than this one.
