Wanted some brunch and with all the brunch spots in Markham, I wanted to try Ramona's kitchen. It was a Sunday, so I kind of expected it to be busy, and since I didn't make any reservations, surprisingly the wait time was about 15-20minutes. We chose to sit inside instead of the outside patio since it was humid and hot. We got a call and got seated right away. Our waiter was friendly and patient. Took our orders right away and got us started with water. I ordered the avocado toast and mr. Tran got the dad breakfast. Took about 20 minutes for our orders to come out and it was nicely presented. I was pretty hungry so devouring my plate was easy. The toast was pretty soggy though, the salad was good and simple; I liked that it didn't leave me feeling heavy. mr. Trans order had a lot on his plate, and it came with either blueberry pancake or strawberry French toast. He opted for the French toast. My toddler didn't like anything on my plate, so she ate off mr. Trans potatoes and mini sausages. It's a nice place for brunch, but nothing spectacular.
I'd never eaten in this plaza before, so when we saw Ramona's from the parking lot, we went inside. We looked around, and the menu on the blackboard did not seem to have the menu items that I had seen online. The employee working figured out that we were in the wrong place and asked if we were looking for Ramona's Kitchen. She told us it was a couple of doors down, inside the plaza. At the correct location, Ramona's Kitchen has a 'patio' section inside the corridor of the plaza. We wandered inside, and a server sat us at a table. There's seating along one wall and towards the back, near the plaza, and an open kitchen along the opposite wall. We got the smoked salmon benedict and the brunch burger (with pancetta). Since we were the only customers at the time, it didn't take our food long to arrive. I'm not sure what it was, but the benny seemed a bit different from others I've had. Maybe it was the Hollandaise. I'm usually not a mixed greens eater, but I enjoyed this one. Perhaps it was the vinaigrette. The brunch burger was amazing. It was way too big for me to just pick up and eat, so I cut it in half first and then dug into it. The crispy pancetta inside was perfection. The tri-coloured home fries were fun and different from what is usually served. Once we had paid and got up to leave, I went to the entrance to the parking lot. We got halted and told to use the entrance inside the plaza. I found that quite strange.
New menus! Which can only mean new items and also increase in prices? Haha. Sad to see that the avocado spinach brie omelette is gone but this time I did a build your own and got mushrooms, spinach and Swiss. It came with the tri coloured fries and toast (white, brown, or rye). The sweet potato one was slightly wet and mushy this time but everything else was delicious. Will be back! Came on a weekday this time and we got one of the last tables inside the mall area. A queue formed shortly after us.
I came here for lunch on a weekday and we were able to get a table for four pretty quickly. This location is small and cozy. We ordered fish and chips, smoked salmon eggs Benedict and mushroom and onion burger. The eggs Benedict were the highlight of the meal! The eggs were cooked perfectly with a runny yolk and the tri-coloured potatoes were delicious. I've ordered for takeout before and had no issues, quality of food is just as good.
Tiny, local, delicious brunch spot! Came here on a weekend trying to get a table for 7 total (5 adults, 2 kids) and it was a long wait! I understand since it's a super small restaurant, and they don't usually accommodate parties larger than 4-5. So make sure you come here with smaller groups to get a table quickly. Started off with a nutella latte, they don't have soy milk alternatives here but have oat milk. The nutella latte was not too sweet but definitely could have more of an espresso taste to it. My table got dishes to share: Smoked salmon eggs benedict 8/10 Got this one with home fries instead of salad. The hollandaise sauce is heavy so the dishe gets quite heavy quickly. Regardless, I enjoyed this a lot! Poutine 10/10 This poutine was amazing! It came served inside a small tin buck which confused me at first, but it worked! The fries somehow stayed crispy even with all the gravy on top and was piping HOT which I loved! This just meant that the cheese curds were properly melted. Highly recommend getting this to share! Crab cake eggs benedict 7.5/10 It's good! But definitely the heaviest dish there was of all the things we got. The grab cakes are of course fried and topped with a poach egg. Blueberry pancakes 7.5/10 A little bit on the drier side but was a nice sweet touch to share for the table. Looked amazing also! Come for the poutine! Leave with a full stomach!
False advertising, fresh is not fresh. I definitely won't be coming back for the foreseeable future. My girlfriend and I came on a Sunday morning. The wait at 10:30 wasn't that bad, approximately 20 minutes for indoor seating. Ramona's had patio seating available but we felt it was too chilly to enjoy a hot meal outside. The menu offers a large variety of Egg Bennys (including vegetarian options) - we ultimately decided on the Smoked Salmon Benny and Crab Cake Benny with the tri-coloured home fries, alongside a cappuccino and Nutella latte. We were slightly disappointed to find out they weren't serving tri-coloured home fries that day, though not overly upset. I'm sure the taste between normal and tri-coloured is the same, but I wish the servers would've told me as I ordered. Again, not a big issue - but every little bit counts for a customer! No big negative comments for the Smoked Salmon Benny, other than us wishing for a more generous portion of the smoked salmon (i.e. we've definitely seen a larger amount of smoked salmon at some local competitors). The poached egg was done very nicely, deliciously coating the dish with creamy, runny yolk. The Crab Cake Benny, on the other hand, was very upsetting. The dish comes with a poached egg and seasoned shrimp atop the nicely fried "fresh lump crab cake" per the menu description. I knew something tasted off when I had my first bite which was overwhelmingly sweet, almost artificially so. As I broke into the crab cake, to my horror, I recognized the iconic red strands of imitation crab meat. For those unaware, imitation crab meat uses white fish meat to emulate the look of crab meat. It offers no resemblance, in taste nor in value, of the real deal. At $19.99, I would have expected fresh crab meat. I wouldn't have minded smaller, but fresh crab cakes for the price point, but I definitely did not expect to see the cakes using imitation crab meat. Over to the drinks. The cappuccino was made very well. The Nutella latte was equally as delicious, though I wish more care had been given in preparing the drink. As I finished my last sip, I couldn't help but notice a large chunk of undissolved Nutella in my cup. Either fully dissolve the Nutella into the drink prior to serving, or include a spoon so that the customer can mix it thoroughly themselves. Wrapping up the meal, it was quite uncomfortable that I didn't receive some privacy paying on the machine. Not necessarily the most pleasant experience, with the server staring straight into my selection of the preset tipping percentages. If you're coming to Ramona's, stay clear of the Crab Cake Benny. Other menu items may be worth trying, but I won't be a customer again.
First time trying Ramona's on Bayview. Nice space, we were seated within a reasonable timeframe despite it being weekend brunch. Servers were really nice and attentive. The menu has a lot of Benedict options which isn't too common! I tried the schnitzel benedict which reminded me of chicken parm (not a bad thing). They also have an option to spot your regular hollandaise with spicy hollandaise. Would come back to try other dishes.
Just a word of caution this place is ridiculously busy and this place got so popular there's a Ramona's cafe next door, if you can't find a seat here, we waited 45 mins but worth the wait, this is the fourth time that I tried this place but I'm not coming anymore because I want to explore other places, but the food is excellent I got the Nutella milkshake, perfect balance of sweetness in a big jug, I decided to get the schnitzel benedict, which I tried before, chicken was cooked perfectly, crispy, got it with a spicy hollandaise perfect balance of heat, and their portion is massive honestly if you come with four people get two dishes and share, you will be plenty full, trust me, the ambiance was nice, my wife had a hair in her food the owner brought a new dish? Which they should've anyways, the owner was really attentive, and so many choices for breakfast the ultimate brunch spot
I'm in love with breakfast and this place offers great variety of options for breakfast and brunch, all day long. We were asked for our proof of vaccinations upon our arrival and we were asked to choose our table since the restaurant wasn't busy at that time of the day. The staff were friendly and helpful and gave us enough time to order. We ordered "Avocado & Brie Omelette" with ham and "Ramona's Banana Bread & French Toast " with poached egg. Omelette came in with the side of home fries and toast (either white, whole grain or Rye). Banana bread came with sliced banana, walnut, sliced strawberries, chocolate sauce and side of maple syrup. Both were very delicious and we were so full after our meal, lol.

Very solid diner style cafe, excellent pancakes! It can get really packed around brunch time. Service was really helpful and friendly, but some food items took a while to come, probably as the restaurant was completely full while I was there read more
I sent out a message to Ramona's kitchen to see if they would donate anything for our elementary school graduation breakfast event. The amazing owner Carlo responded almost immediately with full support and information on what he would provide. Can I just tell you, not only did Ramona's Kitchen come through in a big way, but the food itself was so delicious! The kids just devoured the chocolate chip cookies! The breakfast sandwiches were fresh, the egg was cooked to perfection and there was so much ham! I frequent Ramona's Kitchen personally but usually for lunch! After tasting these breakfast sandwiches, I will for sure be going for this exact breakfast again! A huge thank you to Ramona's Kitchen for not only their generosity but also for feeding the kids with healthy, tasty and quality food! read more

Great brunch spot! Cozy atmosphere with open kitchen. Friendly staff. Portion sizes are generous. A bit pricey but worth it. Items we had: Dad's Full Breakfast with Blueberry Pancakes, Morning Frankfurter, Nutella Hot Chocolate and Double Espresso. read more

Went here for brunch. Great portions, food was great. Nothing to complain about. The service was average. Nothing above the ordinary. The restaurant itself was quite small, nicely lit. Roughly 10 tables but manage to get a seat for 4 with no wait time. read more

Saw the BOGO promo on Uber Eats and ordered the crispy fish burger. It was a great deal, but the food wasn't that good. The fish didn't taste fresh, it had a strong fishy taste to it (didn't taste right). The fries were also flavourless and not salted. I faintly remembered ordering a beef burger from them months ago and it wasn't too bad. This experience however was disappointing. read more

Great little patio spot during this covid time! They extended their patio to the parking lot with cute little umbrellas, and patio seats. The food is generous, flavourful, unique and great for a brunch get together. My girl ordered the turkey BLT, I ordered the salmon eggs Benny with tri coloured potatoes, and waffles to finish off! Fries crispy! Eggs Benny with spicy hollandaise sauce! Mmm!! The portions were great, perfect for a good meal, and price point is decent approx $13-20. Would definitely come back to check out other things on the menu again. :) cheers! read more

Ramona's all day breakfast is one of my favourite brunch spots, you'll find the menu has something for everyone, whether you want breakfast food, or sandwiches and burgers, or even fish and chips. They do Egg's Benedict really well and the tri-colour home fries that go with most things on the menu are so good, you gotta try it! Price points are decent, although it's gone upwards given inflation. It's a small restaurant so go early or expect to wait in line, you'll be waiting in the plaza so it's a covered area. There's also a decent amount of parking. read more

This isn't my first time here but I definitely haven't been here in a long while. My opinion regardless doesn't really change though. This place is a great brunch spot! I came here with some friends for brunch and we all ordered different things but all enjoyed it. We ate out on the patio that's in the plaza parking lot. I ordered the burger benny...I don't remember if that's the actual name for it but it came with a side of their colourful fried potatoes. I also ordered a Nutella hot chocolate and added a shot of espresso. Delicious! read more
Decided to give them a try based on their positive reviews, especially their breakfast dishes. Took a chance and ordered the Crab cake benny, bad decision, very bad decision. The pre-formed crab cakes were perfectly round (not hand formed) with breading that you would find similar on cheap frozen fish sticks, no crab taste, very little crab, crab bits appeared to be the fake Japanese type crab, mostly fillers surrounded by thick breading. Also ordered their Mushroom burger, another bad mistake, meat was very soft, probably mixed with fillers/breading with minimum flavour. Meat was basically falling apart after each bite. Head over to Five guys, Freshburger or Burger Priest to taste what a real burger should taste like. Maybe I just ordered the 2 worse dishes from their menu, my bad. Food is always amazing. 15 minute wait, which I totally understand. I do wish they expanded as this place is my FAVOURITE brunch place. I do prefer to be seated inside the restaurant as the ambiance on the mall side is not as appealing. I love their tri-coloured potatoes. Crispy edges and tender inside. read more

I picked this place based on looking at most reviewed brunch spots in the area and I don't understand how it's not #1. I absolutely loved this place. It was a small but beautiful spot located in a little plaza. They offered coffee, pastries, milkshakes, sandwiches and plenty of brunch options. Reading the menu made my mouth water with so many delicious options but I decided on the Strawberry Waffles. It came with a scoop of Strawberry ice cream that was not very sweet but tasty and complimented the dish nicely. The combination of the light flush Waffle, powdered sugar (aka sugar icing) and the maple syrup was fantastic on its own. I will absolutely be coming here next time I'm in the Toronto!! read more
I have tried the cafe before, and didn't realize there is a restaurant of the same name in the plaza. And this restaurant is a gem. The burger and pancake both cooked real well. The pancake is a soft and smooth texture and the syrup/sauce is just the right sweetness, not like others which often tasted too sweet. The bun of the burger is firm in the surface and soft and moist in the right way inside. The egg and patty is of good balance of juiciness. The potato wedge was cooked crispy. The coffee is what needed to be improved, but the price and food is very well worth it. This became my go to place for all day breakfast. read more

I went here for breakfast and brunch couple times before and during pandemic. There food are fresh and good. I used to rate 4 stars and up. But after today's visit I will change to 2 stars only. Food are still good but the servers are I went there before to ask if they are open patio on July 1. The server said yes but will be busy. Because we have 5 in group. She said probably I need to wait for 1/2 hour and they don't accept booking. Well I went this morning 1/2 hour early to get the table, but they have lots of space and they can't give me a table till all 5 are arrived. Well, I understand so stand there to wait for half hour with quite empty patio, After we seated and order right away coffee and food. Omgish, coffee are room temperature and we told the waitress, she seems not believe or understand what we complain. Anyways, she changed for us after. Once we finish our dishes, they send us the bill so quick and Ofcuz want us leave. I understand they want the table back, but they should let us know there has time limits on seating at the beginning. When my friend ask why not telling us at the beginning, she said there has a sign inside the restaurant we never go into the restaurant and how we know That's ok too but the way she talks to us is so mean and rude. " you all already seating here for two hours..." I am very disappointed to such serving healthy and good food place with treating people in unfriendly way. Well, will not go again and NOT RECOMMENDED! So sorry ( the 2 stars is for the fresh ingredients only) feel sad to the restaurant owner, because they use such fresh ingredients, must be pretty passionated and respect to the world. read more

If you want to perfect the chicken burger, you've got to keep frying. There's sheer satisfaction when you make your Mondays more terrific by binging in some classic Burgers from Ramona's Kitchen. Last week I had a chance to visit Ramon's kitchen at Bayview Ave, Markham and, the only thing on my mind was to lift these amazing Burgers and get them right down to my belly. So did their Burgers satisfied my cravings? Let's find out. Spicy Chicken Sandwich: Comes with a 6oz of freshly made chicken schnitzel drizzled chipotle aioli and their homemade spice sauce on top of freshly made coleslaw on a brioche bun. Crispy Fish Sandwich: Stuffed with 4oz of haddock loin lightly beer-battered and fried golden on top of freshly made slaw and drizzled with their homemade Tuscan sauce. Their beautiful patios are now open so, do visit them for some delicious lunch. read more
Great service, great food, and great ambiance. The place has got it all! Why 4 stars? The food just didn't quite hit the 5-star spot for us. Maybe it was the hot sauce in the Eggs Benedict that threw us off, or maybe it was the banana bread in the French toast that intrigued but surprised me. We thought we knew what we ordered, but we didn't - if that makes sense. We'll definitely revisit the place and try out the traditional Eggs Benedict and waffles, better luck next time? read more
Very impressed with how this restaurant/coffee shop has been redone. Good food, great presentation, quality coffee for a reasonable price. Completely blows away a typical Starbucks. Superb execution and well run place. Hope to return soon! read more

Came here on a Wednesday for brunch (maybe around 11:30). It wasn't very busy at this time and we were able to be seated right away. They checked our vaccine passport. It's a cozy little restaurant. Staff was friendly and attentive. We ordered: -Ramonas chicken sandwich and upgraded the fries to a poutine (the poutine was so good!) -Moms breakfast with extra cucumber instead of home fries (eggs were cooked perfectly!) It came up to about $41 without tip included. Overall, really enjoyed the food and service. Even though it says no modifications or substitutions on the menu, I was able to get extra cucumbers instead of potatoes which was really nice! Will definitely be back! read more

Love Ramona's!! So good! Best Benny I've had uptown! Latte - love it! Just what I needed, I don't like drinks that are too sweet and they made it just right, I didn't need to add any sugar, but my friend added a sugar pack. Crab Cake Benny - SOO GOOD THE CRAB CAKE is so crispy and not oily! On top of the crab cake are a few pieces of shrimp. - Sauce of the Benny and the egg is yummy! Salmon Benny - Very good as well! It's not too salty, the egg is done perfect and same with the sauce! Side Salad has balsamic glaze on top with Parmesan. There is a side of olive oil and balsamic vinegar salad dressing. I think the salad taste really good already without the dressing! The dressing is a bit too acidic for me, so I didn't add it in. read more

Amazing brunch spot !! I love all the different eggs Benedicts options they have as a big lover of eggs Benny! Their service was friendly and efficient and everything tasted amazing ! I also did order the chicken and waffle, it was also good but I think the waffle needs a bit of work, it was a bit chewy and dense. Other than that everything was great! read more

Ordered the Waffle Benedict. The salad that accompanies it is fresh and delicious. Not too much dressing. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly. Nice small cafe but very busy. read more
I found this place whilst searching for brunch places in Markham. You have to enter through the mall entrance as opposed to the what I would call the front door from the parking lot. There were already a few groups in line waiting. For a table for two, we were told that the estimated wait time was 20-30 minutes. In reality, it was closer to 40-50 minutes. Finally, we were seating right at the front, beside the hostess and where all the people were waiting for a table. Not the best spot in the house but I'll take it! We ordered Dad's Full Breakfast, an Eggs Benny and a coffee (comes with 1 free refill). Wait time for food was reasonable, as were the portions. Nothing especially stood out to me. I thought Dad's Full Breakfast was a little overpriced for what it was. I opted for the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benny but I didn't enjoy the taste of the smoked salmon that much. I did like the home fries, especially the orange and purple ones (sweet potato and yam?) I did not like the French toast that came with my partner's meal. Overall, I would come again once in a while. I don't think it's worth a 40 minute wait. I would probably wait 10-15 monies max for brunch here. I would love to return and try the dessert but I didn't think there was anything special about the breakfast. read more
