    Cafe Latte

I've visited this place a couple of times now, and both the food and service have been consistently impressive. Everything comes out well-prepared, and the staff is attentive, which makes each visit enjoyable. The Mixed Berry Croffles with ice cream were a standout. Beautifully presented and just as delicious as they looked. The contrast of the crisp croffle with the cool ice cream and fresh berries made it a memorable dessert. The French Toast was another highlight. It came topped with caramelized banana, and the combination worked wonderfully. The crunchy caramel paired perfectly with the soft, sweet banana, and the addition of whipped cream brought the whole dish together. For mains, the Beef Burger Omurice and the Spicy Shrimp Linguine were both nicely executed. Portions were good, the ingredients were generous, and the flavours were satisfying without feeling heavy. Lastly, I enjoy their latte a lot. Rich coffee flavor with nice presentations. You can tell from the presentation alone that the chef takes pride in every dish. There is a level of care and creativity here that reflects genuine passion and solid cooking experience. Overall, this spot consistently delivers great food, thoughtful presentation, and reliable service. Highly worth a visit!

. good service . came around 2pm not busy, no wait . smaller portions compared to other spots . eggs benedict, average? sauce is really nice, short ribs super tender-- tad dry . fries were really good (best plate) super addicting taste . truffle sauce paired super welll . toast; the eggs were made really well, almost melts in your mouth . ricotta cheese and honey combo is interesting? it balance out not being too sweet or over powering but definitely boils down to personal likings

We were driving past recently and noticed this place. I think it used to be a skewers place. We decided to try their brunch menu today. Ambiance: 4/5 - we went around 11:30am and it was packed. Since we didn't have a reservation, we did have to wait a bit. It is a small cafe. They have more smaller tables which can be easily rearranged to larger tables. It gets very noisy very quickly. Service: 4.5/5 - other than the wait time in the beginning, it was good. They checked in on us quite a bit and was attentive. The have us plates to share. One of the plates was a little dirty. They changed it quickly and apologized. I also left something and didn't realize until one of the servers waved me down just as we were about to drive off. Super grateful for him! Food: 4/5 - they have both a physical menu and a QR code to order food. We used the QR code. The table next to us were given the physical menu. One side is in English. The other side is in Chinese. The servers working today can speak in Cantonese. We ordered the smoked duck breast benedict, chicken croffles and a hot hojicha latte. The smoked duck breast was the most flavourful of it all. The Hollandaise sauce was interesting. There's a flavor in it that I can't put my hand on. The chicken croffles was also good. It was my first time having croffles. Croffles = croissant pressed in a waffle maker. I tasted a slight bitterness aftertaste. The fried chicken was lightly battered and succulent and tender. I taste ginger, perhaps from the marinade. The portion size seem small but we were full off of the food. I liked the hot hojicha latte. Nice latte, flavour was mild and just enough sweetness. Price - $20-30 Overall: 4/5 - I would come back with friends and family

Food: I got the seafood pizza and mango slush. Food and drinks came out very fast. The pizza was thin crust and it had a nice creamy sauce. Service: They were attentive and quick to respond. Ambiance: The washroom was very nasty. It had a lot of paper towels and food particles in the sink, as if no one went in to check and ensure that it was clean. We even got a dirty plate when we requested extra plates so that we can share the food. Overall experience: 3 out of 5

Such a cute and quiet place! We went during brunch time on a weekday so didn't have a wait but as we were leaving it started to fill up. Great service, very kind and attentive. Now the the food was the BEST part. Tried the smoked duck breast Benedict and it was one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE meals. Can't beat the price and flavor. Also got the iced lychee tea with less sugar and ice and it was so refreshing and flavorful.

This cozy little spot is the perfect place to kick back and enjoy some seriously good food. We had: Fluffy blueberry pancakes A classic bacon and egg breakfast combo & And the crème brûlée latte? Absolute heaven. The service was amazing. If you're looking for a relaxed brunch spot with amazing flavors, Karkumi Cafe is definitely worth checking out! 4033 Gordon Baker Road

Flew into Toronto & hotel room weren't ready so we went here for Sunday brunch. Staff was extremely pleasant & service was 10/10. The place was clean, when we got there , the place was half filled but packed by time we left. The PurpleYam Latte was delicious art. Great to look at but even better to drink. The Truffle Mushroom Benedict was fire and now I want it every morning. I got some kind of pastry with cream & compote, it was ok to good but the TruffleBenedict made it barely memorable outside of the fact that I took a pic of it. Would definitely recommend this place.

A friend of mine recommended Karkumi Cafe so you know I had to try it out! Arrived at about 12pm on a Sunday and was able to get a table for 2 right away. They do have an online waitlist on Google Maps, and strongly recommend that you do that for bigger tables as it was quite busy and I did see that larger tables had to wait a bit. Most of their tables were smaller - I only saw one table available for 6 but they may have just combined 2+4 person tables. Parking is also not the best. My fiance wasn't really hungry so we shared an app and a main together. I also got a black sesame latte and really enjoyed that - probably one of the better ones in the GTA. We shared the sweet potato fries that came with some cheese and spicy mayo, which was alright. Nothing too special about it but they were more than happy to give us additional mayo when requested. We also got the croque madame which was very delicious. There was a bit too much of the sauce for my preference since it made the toast a bit soggy (which I don't prefer) and it leaked onto the salad (though it still did taste fine with it). The ham has a smoky taste to it and was toasted to perfection! Overall I definitely would come back to try the other items - the clam linguine I wanted was sold out/unavailable when I went!

Love the chic white interior design with abstract art, fake greenery and grey chairs. It all blends together nicely. Even the washroom was not overlooked. Service was good, typical for not a busy Sunday brunch. The roasted potatoes were amazing!! I wish I had more!!!! The light salad complimented the dish. I had smoked duck breast Benny, sauce on the side which they remember. Everything tasted delicious!! Not salty at all. I would definitely go back if I'm in that area again. The prices are comparable to other brunch restaurants.

Karkumi Cafe, located near the intersection of Gordon Baker Rd. and Victoria Park Ave., serves up coffee, brunch and desserts in the Scarborough area. They open until 4pm on the weekdays and until 8pm on the weekends. Opened in Jan 2024, the menu offers small/light bites, brunch classics (think eggs bennies), and pastas. There is only indoor seating which seats about 40-50 customers. The entrance is not accessible as there are a few steps to navigate. My friend and I dined at Karkumi Cafe on a Monday late morning. The restaurant wasn't busy and I was able to get a table right away. The menu is available via a QR code on the table. To order, you are also able to place your order on their website which eliminates the need for you to call a server over. However, they do have physical menus and staff to order from as well if you prefer that. We ordered the following items: - Cortado - Chicken croffles (crispy fried chicken w/ croffles and maple syrup) - Crispy chicken pasta with basil pesto sauce (baby spinach, basil pesto sauce, and crispy chicken thigh topped with parmigiano). Food wise, our items were prepared at a reasonable time. We never felt rushed to leave as the place was not busy. In regards to the cortado, it was average. I'd say if you really want good coffee, this is not the place to order one unless you're desperate for a caffeine hit. My chicken croffles is what you'd expect it to taste like. There were 4 pieces of fried chicken (with a side of spicy mayo) and 3 pieces of croffle. Overall, decent dish. The fried chicken was crispy and the croffles were tasty. Service wise, the staff were friendly. Overall, decent place for brunch in the Scarborough area. Menu does offer a variety of items for everyone.

    Short Rib Eggs Benny

The place is pretty cute, and service was quick. You order on your phone and the billing works perfectly if you have a large group since you can order on your own devices. I got the short rib eggs benny, which was tasty but nothing too special. I liked the potatoes a lot - perfectly crispy on the outside and a bit softer on the inside. The chicken and croffles were delicious! The chicken was moist and the croffles were a really pleasant surprise. The ube latte was really pretty but ube flavour wasn't that strong.

3.5 Love the decorations and ambiance. Their menu has a variety of sandwiches, pastas, and eggs benedicts. They have a pretty nice drink selection as well ranging from coffees to black sesame lattes. We ended up getting two pastas, beef short rib benny, and a fried chicken sando. For drinks we got an iced americano, flat white, and blue butterfly pea latte. My beef short rib benny was nice and I really enjoyed the potatoes. The linguine was Al dente and had a nice amount of toppings. Sadly the chicken sandwich was very sad. The bread was size of our palm but the chicken within was a quarter of the size of the bread. Overall the meal was decent and coffee was good. Just wished the portions were better.

    All day breakfast
    Candice W.

It's a new brunch spot in Markham (close to J Town) that I have discovered recently! It's decorated in a camping theme, several camping chairs are placed in front of the entrance for pictures and queue. So my favourite will be the all day breakfast, placed in a Chinese style dim-sum basket the sweet potato is amazing and the scramble egg was just right!!! I may tried their coffee in my next visit, but the matcha latte was milky, not the type with a strong tea flavour Staff are cheerful and willing to help! Will revisit again :)

We also got two Dalgona Lattes, one with oat milk, and she differentiated them with the coasters, which was such an adorable touch. Now I need to go back just to try more drinks! Parking was free but a little awkward--spots are at an angle, and the plaza can get busy. But honestly, it's worth it. Parking can be a bit busy but usually okay. The service both times has been patient and kind to explain the various options. We decided to go with a milk cake with half lotus and half Dubai chocolate. The cake is soaking in milk which gives it a "wet cake" texture. I imagine it may not be everyone's favorite texture but has decent flavor. The crunchy topping contrasts against the soft, moist cake. The lotus has that nice cookie flavor and crunch while the Dubai chocolate with pistachio offers that chocolate and nutty flavor. I prefer the latter but both are good. We also got a matcha strawberry latte to go. Both really nice to look at and to drink. The matcha has good flavor without being overly bitter while the strawberry provides that fruity sweetness to the drink. Overall, it's a pricier experience but I enjoyed it and will be back.

A recent Yelp elite event introduced me to Kanafani Sweets. I returned for its Dubai chocolate bars. Kanafani Sweets is located in a plaza on the northeast corner of Warden Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East. It's in the same plaza as the Potato Bar. I had no problem finding parking. I pulled into a parking spot in front of the store and walked in. The order pickup area was in front of me. I read the signs and the order area was a few steps deeper into the store. I had the nicest woman who cheerfully said hi. She was helpful with answering my question and offering suggestions. She showed me the qashtuta, which was milk cake. She let me know that I could either get a solid flavour, such as Biscoff, or do three different flavours, such as Biscoff, hazelnut, and Dubai chocolate. Wow! My Yelp experience consisted of having knafeh, which I absolutely love. She said that it could be made soft or crispy. I love crispy. She also let me know that I could get either pistachio or chocolate sauce on the side. I went with the former. For the drink, she shared what was popular. The iced tiramisu latte was one of them. I love tiramisu. I was down checking out an iced drink version. I got a buzzer for my order. The knafeh takes roughly ten minutes to make. I sat in a comfy chair near the order area. It was nice to relax after driving for over an hour to get here. I used the washroom. There's an individual stall for women. It was clean, cheerful, and pleasant. I used it again just before I left to run a few errands before heading home. I watched the buzzer light up. I headed to the pickup area. The nice woman had my order ready. She let me know that I got a brownie bite on the house. It was so generous! I thanked her and headed to my table to chow down. The iced tiramisu latte was exceptional. I got a lady finger that I could dip into my drink. The espresso was a good strength with the cocoa. It had milk. You can substitute the espresso for decaf, and the milk for a dairy-free or lactose-free substitute. I didn't bother. It was nicely iced and a good size to wash down everything that I ate. I loved the complimentary brownie bite. The brownie core was delicious. The crispy exterior provided a nice contrast. It was enjoyable to devour! I loved the knafeh. It already had syrup on it. I got syrup on the side, as well as pistachio sauce. I poured the pistachio sauce over the knafeh. So good! The knafeh had cheese inside. It was stretchy and hot. Over time, the cheese lost its stretchy factor as it cooled. It was yummy with the right balance of crispiness and chopped pistachios with the pistachio sauce. The syrup made the knafeh slightly sweet. The sweetness was perfect for my liking. The knafeh was excellent. I have been trying to find a decent place that makes Dubai chocolate bars. Before visiting this store, most places made their bars on their own, but they were too soft. It was as if I looked at the bar and it melted on its own out of fear. I bought a bar of Dubai chocolate Lotus to enjoy. I paid with a credit card and included a tip because staff are so helpful and friendly. This bar was excellent. The crispy filling had Lotus cookie spread in it. The milk chocolate held everything together. I was impressed. I will be back to get the regular bar next. It's such a gem of a Palestinian dessert place. I'll be back. (439)

Cold eggs and stale bread that honestly tasted oily was a disappointment for this spot. We ordered the ice cream sandwich for dessert which WAS enjoyable and the saving grace of the meal. The chicken wings we got was pretty heavily breaded which is also not my favorite way to eat them. We may come back to try their more adventurous offerings.
