Valley Fields Feast with Scrambled Eggs
    Jason S.

Valley Fields is one of the best brunch restaurants in North York. The service is friendly, and the food is fresh and warm. The one issue is the furniture being dated, as it looks like it is stacked in the 80s. Other than that, come for the food and service.

Eggs Benedict with Grilled Halloumi Cheese and home fried

After starting Boxing Day shopping super early my friend and I were starving when we finished and literally searched for breakfast through the yelp app and it gave us Valley Fields Restaurant as an option. We decided to go since it was so highly rated and on the way home and so glad we did!! The restaurant is basic and a bit of dated decor and furniture but that didn't bother us at all. Usually places like that you can tell they're going to have great food and they did!! I ordered the Eggs Benedict with Halloumi Cheese and it was so delicious from the first bite!!! Great hollandaise sauce and perfectly made eggs as well as the English muffin being fresh and soft and perfectly toasted. I was so full from my eggs that I didn't even finish all my home fries. My fried loved her breakfast too. The sausages were perfectly cooked and had a great flavour to them, the eggs cooked to order perfectly and the pancakes were huge, fluffy and light and had a buttermilk taste to them. Can't wait to go back and try different food!! Perfect little gem that is my new favourite breakfast place.

This place is terrible! I am ashamed to have eaten here. Just finished and I feel sick to my stomach. We were really hungry & it's shocking the krap one puts in their body when they are really hungry. The food was so greasy and sickening. The waitress was nice. But the owner what a D-bag! He knows nothing of customer service. I complained to him about the meal. He turns to our waitress, who's cashing me out and says, "How many people have we served today? " They answer in unison, but; also him more predominately, "300". Then he adds, "and this is the first complaint". Clearly he doesn't take to complaints very often or very well. He didn't offer any reduction in price at all for our meals. I would need to have asked him and given his attitude toward me already, I didn't even bother. I'm surprised his business continues to operate. I will not venture here again and good luck to those who do. The pictures weren't even worth taking but I did anyway.

I have been around this location for over 5 years and never noticed this place... glad I did now! This is a small place... hidden gem for diner food! Great prices and great food. You do not go to this place for the decor, go for the breakfast! Fast service and clean location. I admit I did not read the fine print on my breakfast and had to order a side of potatoes... but all food was great!

Lets call it Breakfast Poutine on steroids

What an amazing find in North York. It's certainly not a hidden gem, as it is quite a well known spot, but we found this place by complete accident. For some reason, this usually busy joint was not that busy on the day and we got a table immediately. The servers were nice....can't complain, casual atmosphere, not to roomy layout but not too jam packed either. The good part was certainly the food. I went with the good ol' benny, and it did not disappoint. The Hollandaise sauce on the benny was just about perfect. One of the better tasting hollandaise I've had in Toronto. Two muffins, with three poached eggs on top, generous peameal bacon, and Hollandaise. They didn't drown the dish in the rich sauce, which was nice too. Not to leave behind the hash, which could hold its own against any benny on the other half of the plate. Really, really good hash! The other dish we tried was a super indulgence. Can't remember its name, will update this review with the name after our next visit. The breakfast dish had the same amazing hash, with some delicious sausages tossed along, generous amounts of gravy, and eggs on top cooked as per your liking. Well....lets call it a breakfast poutine. Seriously doubt anyone can finish this super rich dish in one sitting. Delicious?...... definitely, healthy?...... yea right Glad to find this really good breakfast place in North York, I think its right up there with the very best in Toronto.

I used to come for breakfast on the weekends regularly about 5 years ago and remember huge portions, tasty food, and great service. I've recently moved back to the area and visited Valley Fields for breakfast last Saturday - and i was so happy to see that it hasn't changed! Still the same great portions, tasty food, and familiar smiling faces. Love this place!

They give a pretty large portion I feel everything is shareable. I do not like turkey bacon at all. I don't know why they did to this turkey bacon or if it was because we were in Canada. I can't stop thinking about it or the blueberry pancakes. When we come back to Toronto we will definitely stop back by. Good service, a nice family environment, and good food is hard to come by. However me and my partner had a craving for some breakfast food so decided to give this a shot. The short story is that this is a nice little breakfast place with solid food and great service. I ordered a classic breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, toast and home fries while my partner ordered the pancakes. My breakfast was solid. It wasn't anything mind blowing but everything tasted as it should and overall I really enjoyed it. My partner's pancakes were really good though. The portions were larger than I anticipated and they were so fluffy. This is definitely what I plan to order the next time I come here. Service was great as the server was friendly, the food came fairly quickly and the server checked up on us regularly. No complaints from me on this front. The restaurant is not overly large but has a decent amount of seating. It was bright and inviting as their window at the front of the shop is fairly large. There was seating along the window so we decided to sit there as the sun was beaming into the shop that day and it was great. All in all, this is a nice local breakfast spot that I would easily recommend as everything from the food, service and atmosphere was great. Give it a try.

Sadly there was no chair for her to sit down on yet it didn't stop her from going to her regular spot for a Sunday brunch. She told me that she has been coming here for many years, even before it was called Sammy's. Has it been 30 years, she asked herself? Either way, she made it known that she is quite the regular. Very nice and friendly lady. These are the types of regulars that make the diner what it is. There is a sign in clipboard at the front, as soon as you walk in. You have to sign in as part of contact tracing in case there is an outbreak of COVID linked back to this establishment. Make sure you do not block the pathway from behind the bar, I didn't block it but a large family with several kids needed a place to stand in line and wait for a big table, because servers will get very mad at you and tell you "I NEED TO GET BY! DON'T BLOCK THE WAY!" But there is no where to stand when the lineup is 20 people deep. This is something to think about once the weather gets colder and there is a long lineup out the door. Perhaps takeout would be a better option than to be yelled at by the short haired waitress with tattoos? While I did not mind waiting and I had a book to occupy my time in the lineup and at the table before I was given the menu, I could see that this was obviously a rush time, prime time lunchtime at the diner, maybe others might be a little more impatient than me? I could watch a snail crawl for hours, patience is a virtue. The wait is very long to get seated and even longer to get food. While the food was pretty good, and the other server was very friendly, attentive and nice, I think they were short staffed that day and nothing is ever as instant as fast food. My advice would be to go here when you have the time to wait. Don't come here if you are in a rush. It's better to only come here when you have lots of time to wait.

Some reviewers complained about the loudness, but, compared to many other downtown locations, Landwers was a medium level of noise, and we were able to converse. It was not excessively busy, but if you are set on eating here, then make a reservation. I finally tried the Sinia Kebab, and it was tremendously good! It was also huge, and I had to take half of it home with me. The focaccia bread is excellent, and serves as a sort of bowl for this deconstructed kebab. My husband had his usual Cobb Salad, which he thinks is particularly well done at Landwer's. Our other dining companion had schnitzel, which came with some angel hair pasta. He enjoyed it very much. Service is, as I said above, "relaxed". If you are planning to see a concert or show afterwards, then plan ample time to allow the relaxed service to unfold (a.k.a this is not fast food!!) We had a 6:00 reservation, and we were able to make our 7:30 concert time with about 10 minutes to spare. The University location is conveniently located near Thompson Hall, the subway, and Union Station (Via Rail and Go).

I opted for the "tried and true" Chicken Souvlaki on a Pita with onions and tzatziki sauce, fries and a Greek Salad. The chicken exceeded my expectations. It was well seasoned, tender, nicely charcoal grilled and pretty juicy. I was glad they double wrapped the pita with wax paper and foil so there was no spillage either. To give an idea of their vast menu offerings, at AGM Eatery you can get Traditional Green TAVERNA food, like Beef Lasagna Dinner or Beef Moussaka Dinner (Greece's most popular, traditional dish of eggplant, potato and beef).
