Upon first entering 24 Karrot feels like the kind of place that you have to be an insider to know "how things work." For example, if you'd like water for your table, you can find a carafe in the fridge and glasses on the counter to help yourself. Similarly, they appreciate it if you bus your own table. It could simply be the laid back approach by owners Paul & Kathleen. They are super personable once they know you. All that said, the food is totally worth a little extra expense for high quality ingredients and preparation. I recently had banana walnut pancakes and they were absolutely perfect. Tasted my friend's oatmeal, which was also stupendous!

It's like an in town eatery in the burbs. Local art in the walls. fresh, locally sourced foods. Interesting menu. Met a friend for brunch and we both had the breakfast bowl. Quite tasty! So many flavors. So fresh. I really enjoyed my meal. Some reviewers said it was confusing and it is but not overwhelming so. Walk up the ramp to the desk and order. Menu changes often. Staff was friendly and happy to answer any and all questions. Water is free and available in the cooler - glasses in the partition between counter area and dining. I grew up in Brecksville and used to go to Mill Brecksville with my dad when I was little. Love the Mill Breck sign in the dining area. Well done. I will be back!

I had a very charming lunch here today with my mother during the middle of the workday. This place is excellent. From what I could tell, everything is made from scratch and their Facebook page is informative as to what items were sourced locally. You can taste the quality in the ingredients they select. The menu turns over daily. I ordered a soup and had a tea on the side and my mother ordered a Buddha bowl with delicata squash and a green goddess avocado dressing. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. You feel welcome here, which is a good sign at any restaurant. The interior of this spot is full of natural light and is charming. It was fairly quiet when we went, which I enjoyed. I felt the food was high quality, very tasty and healing. I know my mother really enjoys this restaurant and now that she has introduced it to me I will absolutely be back! If the owners/management are reading this you are doing a great job:)

Amazing food! So many plant-based options! Vegan, gluten-free desserts! Did I say duck-eggs? Whether you have dietary needs or not, you will find something to love here. Promise!

So the food was fresh. Really fresh. But a bit pricey. $36 for two salads and a torte. I guess the thing that got me is when I went to get a refill of water it's $1 for fruit infused water. When you charge $10 for torte a quarter the size of a dollar bill...can I get a free glass of water? Also no dressing offered or on the salad. I dunno leaving here kinda indifferent

Baked oatmeal with coconut milk over top. All of it unsweetened

So it took a while for us to figure out how to order here. You order at the counter up the ramp. You can serve yourself a free bottle of water from the fridge, but if you take a glass of water from the dispenser you have to pay a dollar. The open kitchen is for classes, not eating I don't believe. As for the food. The Latte was generous in a large cup. They have regular cows, almond and coconut milk, no soy or oat milk. I had the baked oatmeal, which would have been quite good if it wasn't for the coconut milk pourered over it. Something about the slightly sour flavor of the coconut milk with the unsweetened oatmeal really wasn't appetizing. I took the baked oatmeal out of the bowl onto another plate and put a little Maple syrup over it and that balanced it better. The bacon was OK, not amazing but good. My companion had grits, which he also found to have an interesting flavor, unusual. By it and the end he really liked it. Definitely not the traditional breakfast menu items. I will come back. They had a guitarist on a Sunday morning. A nice way to start the day.

Cardinal coffee and cakes has been on my list for a while now as I love trying out new cafes and…read morebakeshops. This place is ADORABLE. It has so much charm to it. The people are incredibly friendly, not only the workers but everyone who was there which shows the audience this cafe attracts. It was awesome to see the wide arrangement of drink options from hot to cold to energy infused drinks with Red Bull. They also had a TON of house baked goods. Scones, muffins, cinnamon rolls, strudels and more. They even have lots of various breads to choose from and cakes! They have inside and outside seating which is charming and simple. The food is great and the drinks are high quality and refreshing. The cinnamon rolls warmed up in the microwave were probably some of the best I've ever eaten. The cream cheese frosting is to die for as well as the strawberry rhubarb filling (I need a jar of it). Muffins are SO MOIST and great texture/flavors. I also really liked that by the cash register they had some pre wrapped baked goods that were slightly discounted meaning they were probably leftovers from the previous day or what not so I like that they do not waste! Overall, if you are in the area or a short drive away please stop in and you won't regret it!
