Our dining experience at Blue Heron was good! The food was timely and tasty, ambiance was comfortable, and management is especially proficient. The only barrier from a five star review came in the form of one waiter with a receding hairline and starter studs, who asked for certain IDs when our table was ordering drinks based on subjectivity and looks. An insensitive comment was made to myself and my friend; he said "She doesn't look young, but SHE does" A bit after me not being able to provide ID because I did not have my wallet, he proceeded to accuse me of sipping someone else's drink and threatened to take it away. Upon backlash from our table, he remarked that someone had been watching me to make sure I hadn't sipped any drinks. This made me extremely uncomfortable, like I was being watched. I don't believe any of this waiter's behavior is a good standard of conduct as far as professionalism. I have never had a problem with trying others' drinks at restaurants. Regardless, I Am 21, so there was not a real issue in the first place. Once management got involved, the situation was diffused immediately and we received abundant compensation for the bother, like free drinks and an extra entree to take home! My husband was not impressed with the plastic igloo lol You DO have to hit a certain price point when booking/renting the igloo before complete check out. So check into that prior to visit if interested. Info listed on the website or the manager was super nice & helpful when calling in. We also dined in the "igloo" during the day. It is heated. I do think it would be cooler at night all lit up & dining in a there or just drinks. Some have tables & chairs & others have "lounge" setup. Wouldn't recommend igloo for daytime. Our food wasn't amazing. I got the salmon & actually didn't eat any of it. It got taken off of our bill. My husband had a burger & it was okay. They have more than one events center because while I was in line to enter my friend's wedding reception venue, I saw a few people who were looking for another wedding so I had to tell them that they were in line for the wrong wedding. WEDDING -- The wedding that I attended was fun. My friend Melanie got married The small ceremony (about 75 people) was held outside while the reception was held inside. The bride and groom stood behind a pond and flowers were decorated above them. Inside the reception hall, there were tables and chairs set up were dinner was served. There was a section at the center for dancing all night long. I am rating this based on the igloo experience, as I have not dined here another way. I'd give it a 3.5 if that was a choice. Service was excellent - our server was perfect. The igloo was a little cold as the only heat source was two small space heaters. The lighting inside was odd too - made it hard to see. They did decorate it festively for Valentine's Day though, which was cute. There was a $25 fee to reserve the igloo, which we thought would come off of the bill but were told when paying that is a flat fee so just FYI. Food came out really quickly and our server was very sweet. The food quality itself was a little lacking for the price. Our party ordered the truffle and cheese dip appetizer, wagyu burger with upgrade to fries, salmon, and Asian noodle bowl. The dip was delicious, but the chips that came with it were stale. The burger was overly salty, and the veggies that came on the noodle bowl were clearly frozen before and were soggy and watery. The noodles themselves were good but nothing to write home about. I am told the salmon was really good though. All in all a bit disappointed, but I would give them another try and eat inside or outside on the patio when it warms up outside. The parking spots are narrow making it hard to get the chair between cars and person from car to chair. The bathroom was extremely hard to mange with the chair. It has so many tight turns and then a garbage can that blocked the stall. Even getting out of the bathroom was tough cause we had to go back in the stall, hit the can again and back out hitting the doors and walls. read more

I had the pleasure of dining here last week while in town for business. It was a beautiful evening so we sat outside on the patio. Beautiful setting on what was once a country club. Service was great. I ate light with a strawberry salad with grilled chicken. Very good. The table split a heaping helping of peanut butter pie. It was delicious and quite large. They are known for this. I tried their Pilsner which was light and refreshing. On Wednesday they have all you can eat crab legs. I didn't partake but many were. Great spot. read more

We had the Short Rib Nachos as an appetizer. Short rib meat was very tender. Two people in our group ordered the Asian Noodle Bowl and raved about it. I had the Bacon Beef Burger. After following this place for awhile I was finally able to visit. Reservations are a must and often fill up on the weekends. We were able to get a table on the patio while the band was playing. The building itself is very grand and the patio was nice. I felt like the food didn't live up to the expectations. We tried the pretzel appetizer. I thought it would be homemade but it was from a freezer. Our first one was still cold inside and we had to send it back. The cheese sauce was good but spicy and the cinnamon butter was good. They also have a mustard sauce. I asked for all of the dips but did not get it. They have kids meals for $5. We tried a flat bread pizza and chicken nuggets. They came with fries, chips or vegetable. I also tried the Mac n cheese with meat on top. It was spicy as well and the meat was dry. Service was average. The location is at the end of a housing development and there is a nice park next store that you can walk trails. read more

Our waiter Seemed overwhelmed with the size of the party and 2 tables. He was blunt and almost rude at times - sorry if the group was too large, bud! However, back to the food or main course. The fries with meat and guac and i dont even know what else, weird combo in my opinion and nothing I wanted more then a bite of. The pretzel was what you would expect from a jumbo pretzel...hard to mess that one up. Had the Blue Herron burger with chips, it was okay nothing I'd get again or recommend.
