I enjoyed my dining experience here this evening. I had not booked Twenty/20 due to the low Yelp ratings. However, while staying at MarBrisa, I was gifted $25 to this restaurant. Far be it for me to give away a giveaway. Thus, I cancelled my Chart House reservations for Twenty20. I'm actually glad I did. The Chart House is always delightful and delicious, however Twenty20 had a more extensive menu. While I had a 6 p.m. reservation, I was hungry, so walked over earlier. Yay, to my surprise, I made it during happy hour. I had the caramelized brussel sprouts. They were delightfully yummy with the aged cheese. I also had the truffle mac and cheese. It was okay. I was still hungry. I wasn't hungry enough to order a full dinner meal, so was hoping for a bowl of soup. I did not want the cauliflower soup, so asked for the lunchtime tomato bisque. Unfortunately, they were all out. Thus, I asked for dessert. I had the desert flight of about 6 parfaits. This is definitely a shareable dessert! Absolutely wonderful ambiance and our charcuterie board was incredible. My only complaint is the children's menu is really lacking. I ended up just getting my daughter a bowl of berries. She's at that age where she eats like three things. She won't eat meat. The menu had options like, hummus, chicken breast, soup, and chicken fingers with carrots. You are a rock star mom if you can get your kid to eat hummus. I would suggest adding a whole grain noodle option with homemade spaghetti sauce. We are on vacation we are, it's not the best time to try to get my daughter to eat some hummus. We just want to have fun. I tried to provide feedback on the website but kept getting errors and also called the restaurant and left a message for the manager to call me back, but no response. My family and I dined at this restaurant and had some major issues with the dinner. First, my son who is severely allergic to nuts (carries epinephrine pen) told the server about his allergy. She noted the allergy and ensured what he was ordering did not have nuts. His food came out and it was fine. I ordered the squid ink cavatelli and when my order came out, it didn't have the pasta. The server apologized and offered me bread while I waited. She also ended up not charging me for the pasta which was nice. For dessert my son ordered cookies. When it came out, the cookies were Nutella, banana (with nuts) and chocolate chip. Luckily the server told us that the cookie was Nutella which has hazelnuts so we asked about the other cookies. The server didn't know and had to ask the kitchen. Which then told us there were nuts. This is where I was extremely upset at the fact that there was a major disconnect between the server and the kitchen. We made sure to tell them about the severe nut allergy, but was still served nuts. The server apologized again, which was nice, but it could've been a major issue. read more

Their lunch menu has some amazing options for everyone with different scrambles, benedicts, and even a seafood tower. They also offer bottomless mimosas for only $18!!! She explained to us she was off and got another server to take our order... this buffoon, Scott, came over and ruined the evening. Took our order.. was super weird .. our daughter asked for a wine and he recommended a wine, then condescendingly said there was a more "expressive" one but he didn't recommend it.. weird.. Carded our 27 year old daughter. And about 5 minutes later.. came back and said sorry.. he couldn't serve us... Are you kidding me... We just had dinner, spent 600$ And now he won't serve us because he claimed we had fake id's. Are you kidding. My husband has good genes, he's 48. I'm Asian, I'm 43. Our daughter just turned 27.. are you kidding. People would think we would be flattered... but he literally came back after taking our order.. knowing we just finished dinner with previous adult beverages.. and he's now accusing us of having fake ids... Be aware!!! They have ticks (see picture) in their outdoor dining area!!! My family and I usually stay at this resort since they have a back entrance to LEGOLAND. We came here for breakfast and requested to sit outside. After we sat, my son felt something on this hair and when he brushed his hair, a tick fell onto the table. My husband quickly took a napkin and squashed it. We gave the napkin to the waitress and told her what happened and she said "oops, I'll give you another napkin". We didn't want to leave because we didn't want to drive out for breakfast and it's too expensive to eat at LEGOLAND so we ordered from the menu. We got the following: Ham, bacon and cheese omelet - the portion was small and expensive. Nothing to rave about. Corned Beef Hash - The portion was small and the corned beef was real corned beef and not the can stuff. If we go here again, we'll get an indoor table. Booked a reservation here for SD Restaurant Week 2021 not expecting one of the best meals I've had in this city! I mean really, just excellent! The 3-course prefixe menu for SDRW was $60--which though more than the typical $40 price from other restaurants--was well worth it! For appetizer, I had the Lobster Bisque, which was so buttery and creamy that I had to hold myself from asking for a straw just to gulp it all down. Great start. For the entrée course, I chose the New York Strip Steak which was served with roasted potatoes and roasted peppers. There was a nice but not heavy sauce on the steak that complimented the perfectly cooked piece of meat they served. Ugh, I'm salivating just thinking of that steak! And to top off the meal was the dessert course, which in this case was their amazinggg Pineapple Upside Down Cake! I am somewhat of a PUDC snob and it has been hard to top my usual favorite from Roy's Hawaiian...but this was was definitely tops! The cake had a caramelized almost creme brulee-like sugar top that just made it even better. And there is a surprise sweetened raisin in the middle of the cake that was also delicious. And it was also served with coconut gelato on the side! What a great meal here and I definitely want to come back again soon. The restaurant itself can be found at the Westin Carlsbad. This was such a disappointing experience purely due to the poor service from server Scott and manager MJ. I questioned a charge on the bill and server Scott provided me with lie after lie about it. When I told him I was unhappy about this and I'd like the manager to know he said he would tell her, but never brought her around. I had to then ask him to please bring the manager to speak about the issue and I was surprised by MJs lack of professionalism in handling this issue. Instead of squashing the issue from the beginning, she asked me "what would you like? Would you like me to remove the charge or reprimand your server?" I've worked in there service industry for 15 years and was flummoxed that a manager at a high end steakhouse would be communicating to me like this. Ultimately the charge was removed but this completely marred an otherwise good dinner. Is it just poor customer service training or was it because we were the only table of minorities in the restaurant and you thought you could jerk me around. Makes me wonder... This is the 6th time we visited and they do not disappoint! We were here for their Easter Sunday brunch for the 1st time and it was amazing! The other times we came here for breakfast. It's our first time having dinner here for Christmas (we planned Christmas Eve dinner here but it was so good that we decided to continue our Christmas dinner here as well). Not only the food is tasty, even kids meal is amazing! My daughter actually finished 2 kids meal all by herself, that's how good they are!!! She has salmon with soba noodles and spaghetti bolognese. I have to say they have the best fish I have ever had!!! All of the fishes (salmon, sea bass and branzino)we had were perfectly crispy on the outside and moist and fresh in the inside!!!
