It's 105 Today & mango salad with pineapple fried rice as well as Green curry with crispy bbq thai chicken & their basil chicken sounded so delicious & man this mom & pop real Thai street food didn't disappoint! Legit so good! We did take out but when I walked in to order we were greeted with such warmth and genuine hospitality's she even thanked us for choosing to dine with them. What a great experience! The decor and ambiance quite pleasant, and the weather when we went was fabulous enough for us to sit outside. The food was ordered promptly and our questions met with prompt recommendations - all of which were decent. But nothing stood out. 4.5 stars 11th Tiger is an amusingly-named, small, narrow Thai street food restaurant in Danville, which has somehow won recognition from local critics as one of the best Thai restaurants in the Bay Area! I was curious to see for myself, and we started with the Yum Mango, a salad made of mango cubes, crispy shrimp, peanuts, toasted coconut, red onions, cilantro, mint, and greens, all in a spicy and tangy chili lime dressing. For our mains, the Bomb Bay was a stir-fry of prawns, scallops, calamari, breaded basa fish fillets, green beans, bell peppers, onions, and fresh peppercorns, all in a spicy, sticky southern Thai garlic chili sauce. The Khao Soi was a Northern-style egg noodle soup in a creamy coconut curry broth with chicken slices and vegetables, all garnished with crispy noodles on top; and the Pumpkin Curry was a super creamy curry with (slightly undercooked) kabocha, bell peppers, basil, prawns, and chicken breast slices. All of these dishes had standard Thai flavor profiles, but my favorite dish of all was the unique and delicious Claypot Turmeric Chicken Rice, made with a fragrant turmeric-seasoned rice topped with boneless roast chicken thighs, all served in a claypot along with a side of raw onion and cucumber salad. The rice in this dish was perfectly seasoned and had a fragrant rhizome flavor, and the chicken on top was perfectly spiced. Overall, the food here was on point, though the Thai flavors were somewhat simplified/Americanized for my tastes (and not the best I've had in the Bay Area). Great food and service. We came to this place for a Saturday get together dinner with our family friends. We were a party of 8. Without making any reservations, I was a little hesitant about our chances of getting a table indoors. Fortunately, we were early enough and we're seated at their big 8-seater table. We ordered a variety of dishes. I didn't get a photo of was the Crying Tiger - Grilled rib eye steak, which all the kids loved. They served it medium well. Good flavor and tender juicy meat. Our two young girls were the biggest fan. The two young boys enjoyed the Tiger wings. We ended up ordering a second one cause the boys couldn't get enough of it. I always get Somtum, when I see it on the menu. We ordered the spicy version. It was truly spicy! Triggered our senses and got us sweating during winter time. I love the flavor, but couldn't handle too much of the chili. Could've used a few more shrimp in the somtum given that they charge extra for shrimp. I liked the minced chicken, Devil fish, and Roasted duck curry. It went very well with the Thai fried rice. The adults, who were supposed to "take it easy" on the carbs, ended up ordering another serving of white rice to complement the viands. This was after ordering two serving of the Thai Fried Rice. WE've dined at over sixty, yes 60 Thai/Malaysian Cafe's over decades. My Spouse is Thai and his Mother from the Farmlands in North Thailand. So I feel introduced correctly not american tastes of just safe bet of..."PAD THAI" so much more than that are NOT Scary or fearful not knowing what you are eating in front of you. No I don't eat crickets nor some fish but other items from Thai Cuisine not waterbuffalo either, but if NOT THAI CHILI HOT, I will try. Did you notice how Beau the veggies are cut into flora or pretty shapes including pineapples and coconuts into tropical dreams. Some are extra unique and hard artistry work done on some meals for us all allowing. This rest/Cafe' is on Diablo's top and other including SF Gate of places to try and it IS a hole in the wall next behind a Chev Fuel Station with a busy little alley for outside protected with waterscape for dining away from others. AFter having over sixty including some famous farmhouse SouthWest locations of other Thai Cuisine I look forward to Eleventh Tiger for a variety of reasons besides of just their cooking style and offerings. Yes Thai Tea dining partner hot Iced version while I enjoyed Hot Thai Tea less the sweeted cream no matter if it was condensed, or sweetned version or coconut cream or just powered creamer made in advance, this was typically the norm. Ice is hard to find overseas there and exception for westernized hotels, plenty of ice here upon request. They do have wine including local vines. Thai beer and Thai Coffee and american version. With a couple of pages instead of one for lunch dinner is complete even with apps (NO not the phone kind). Most have buddah's of some sort candled or fruit offerings and sometimes incense honored prior to service or start of day, visible to public. Although they had a fairly large selection, I felt like some of the dishes I ordered were only slightly better than average while some dishes were pretty average/underwhelming.. The casual appearance of this nondescript restaurant front caught my eyes. Its dining area was narrow and not very comfy but outside dining area seems better. Curry Puffs ($10) came in threes with very thin flaky shell and quite small. Biting into it, it was packed tightly with potato fillings maybe some pumpkin but with little hint of curry or any spice. The filling was too sweet and bland for our liking. We were also taken aback by the paper tray it came in. 5 spice tiger ribs arrived next and had that home-cooked appearance. It consisted of four quite meaty St Louis Ribs with 5 spice seasoning/broth, some broccoli/carrots on the side. Unfortunately, the ribs were quite sweet although tender and tasted okay. We also ordered Claypot Tumeric Chicken Rice. It came in a glazed claypot. To call it claypot rice is misleading. The chicken and rice were cooked separately and then laid inside the pot when done (probably to minimize cleaning and cooking time) and arrived mildly warm. No crispy rice to scrape at the bottom of this claypot. The tumeric rice was very fragrant, lemongrassy and delightful. Pieces of bbq chicken (mostly thigh meat) were very tender as well. Our group of 6 dropped in Sunday evening and were able to get a table right away. (as of March 2022) For COVID safety purposes, masks are required, hand sanitizer is provided, and seating is limited. Outdoor and indoor seating both available. The decor is shabby chic, esp with the steel panels lining the walls. A little cramped, but cozy enough. PAD SE EW (sic): About standard. Fairly generous noodle portions w an abundance of protein and fresh bean sprouts. Sauce was the right amount of sweet and savory. Folks here are SO NICE!! Upon entry, our host ushered us in warmly, chatted with us for a bit, and introduced us to a round of red, clear alcohol (which I presume is Ya Dong, Thai herbal liquor). Y'all... This is sweet, floral, and... Weirdly medicinal. Several of us had been to Thailand before and had never heard of this. Came here on a Friday night for dinner and this place was packed! Street parking is plenty around the area. When we got there, there was a line and we were unsure of how to check in. After a few minutes were able to catch someone who mentioned to sign up on a waiting list. We did so and waited outside for a bit till we got seated outside. The restaurant closes at 9 pm and the kitchen closes at 8:30 pm ish so definitely would be mindful of that. I decided to go with the spicy eggplant with brown rice and it was delicious!!! Not too spicy and the authentic flavors, I genuinely was enjoying every bite. Portions were decent and I ended up having to take about a third of it home since I was stuffed! Upon arriving, we were greeted by an unhappy employee; we didn't feel welcomed. We sat down, ordered, and waited 20-25 minutes for our food even though we were the only table there. The food was good, but it wasn't anything special. I ordered the pad see ew and they charged $1 extra for tofu?! Most Thai places don't charge anything extra for the tofu/vegetarian option. The service was lacking. There were 2 employees and they didn't check on us at all. They were too busy chatting amongst themselves. Sorry, I won't be returning. read more

I love the turmeric rice clay pot with chicken. My kids don't care for it but they love Tom Kah Gai and the drunken noodles with beef. We asked for non spicy , the order came with pretty spicy drunken noodles. The server just packed it for us and asked the kitchen to make another one without chilies. This is by far my favorite Thai restaurant around, so good I happily make the 20 minute drive to get there. The food is delicious every time, we have never been dissatisfied. We especially love the pineapple fried rice, chicken wings, and pad se ew. We usually pick it up as takeout, it is a rather small restaurant and on busy days/times can be packed with people. Delicious Thai food. I ordered a few items from their signature line up...Fire Prawns, Pumpkin Curry, and Emerald Beef. Every dish was so flavorful. They did not skimp on seasoning. Fire Prawns - huge shrimp covered with layers of seasoning. Quite full after eating a few of these. Pumpkin Curry - my personal favorite of the three. Curry was thick and very flavorful. Many pieces of pumpkin in this dish. Sauce was so delicious, I could drink it. Emerald Beef - yummy sauce. The pieces of steak in this dish ended up being more tender than expected, which is a huge win. The servers were nice and the food came out in a timely fashion. 11th Tiger has long been my favorite Thai restaurant in the East Bay. The shop itself is quaint and charming. I usually come here to grab takeout as the seating is somewhat limited. At the front pickup counter, they have a display of menu specials as well as some of the many articles highlighting this business's best dishes. Many of which is still dying to try! My absolute favorite dish from here has to be the Yellow Curry which I've been getting for years now, which I typically order without potatoes (personal preference). We recently tried the Panang Curry which converted most of my family to this delicious, nutty curry with bell peppers. The Pad Thai and Pad Se Ew here is also killer. I usually get chicken or tofu in the pad thai and beef in the pad se ew! Finally, when I'm wanting something sweet (most of the time) I'll throw in a Thai Iced Tea with my order. They are seriously delightful!! This place has amazing food, wonderful service, and an all-around cozy vibe inside. Food: 1. Drunken Noodles with beef {4/5 stars, $11} - Large flat rice noodles with an assortment of veggies in a light bean sauce. Delicious, soft noodles, with a kick of heat from the peppers. Beef was a little chewy and over done though:(. 2. Thai BBQ chicken {5/5 stars, $14} - A nice and flavorful juicy chicken thighs with a crispy BBQ exterior. With the added Thai chili sauce it added a perfect sweet addition to this chicken. Delicious. Service: Friendly and prompt. Food was made before scheduled time. Phone line was busy took multiple rings though. Overall: A delicious and well priced restaurant, offering a huge selection of authentic Thai street foods that can suit anyones needs. Oh my...why haven't I been here until today? We came for lunch and sat outside...what a cute outdoor dining area. It was perfect today because it wasn't so hot. It wasn't too busy but we were there at 11:45. I'm sure it gets busier later. Service was wonderful from start to finish. We immediately got water, utensils and our drink orders were taken while we perused the menu which held lots of choices. We started with the curry puffs which were like samosas but they were smaller and had a lovely flavor and the crust wasn't heavy which was nice. We asked for chili sauce on the side. I'm not sure if I tasted a huge amount of curry but they were yummy nonetheless. For our entrees, I had the pumpkin curry with prawns and brown rice and my husband had yellow curry with chicken with white rice. All I can say is my pumpkin curry was the best I've ever had...and I've had a lot of pumpkin curry. The sauce was perfectly spiced, the veggies cooked perfectly soft but not mushy, and the prawns in the curry were cooked perfectly. So many places overcook their prawns and end up being kind of tough, but that was not the case here thank goodness. The dish actually called for chicken and prawns but I asked for prawns only and they were happy to accommodate my request. I adored their brown rice! It was dark colored so it made me think they cooked it in something but I don't know what it was....but it was definitely delicious because I finished almost all of it. My husband loved his entree, but I didn't taste it so I can't give more detail on his. My husband and a Thai iced tea and I had a beer. The entire meal was just under $50.
