So good!! Came by with my manager to grab lunch and we both got the banh mi sandwiches, she got the pork sando and I got the chicken and let just say mine (chicken) was BURSTING with flavor! It had a nice kick to it that just creeps in slowly after you take a bite thanks to the jalapeño. I don't know if the timing was weird but we got there at 2 and it was empty which makes no sense for how GOOD the food was! My Thai tea was pretty refreshing too for how hot it was! I was excited to learn that Kibi's was opening up it's Danville location last year. I finally had to chance to check it out today. I ordered my usual Grilled Chicken Noddle Salad. I am happy that they opened a store in Danville. It's bright and clean inside and there is plenty of indoor seating. This location also offers a bigger menu ompared to Walnut Creek. Greeted quickly & courteously at counter. Ordered a black coffee at counter. Wasn't feeling hungry due to heat. Offerings (Vietnamese): Banh Mi (Viet. Sandwiches), Pho (noodle soup) Bo (beef), Bun (noodle salad), Goi Cuon (summer rolls), Thuc Uong (drinks), Ga Va Tom(Chicken & shrimp) Sips: Ca phe den (Black Vietnamese Coffee, 4) -black, no ice, condensed milk nor sugar. We randomly stopped by here to grab Vietnamese sandwiches after walking on the nearby trail. Although this is a chain, this location seems small biz family owed. Banh Mi Dac Biet 4/5* The banh mi is smaller than I'm used to, but I could already tell it would be delicious by the bubbles on the toasted baguette. The bread was so crunchy and perfect contrast to the soft cold cuts. The pickled veggies were sweet and sour, but I thought there was too many carrots. There were A LOT of carrots. Overall great combination of flavors inside a perfectly baked baguette. Grilled Pork Summer Rolls 3/5* This was just ok. I usually eat the shrimp rolls but decided to try something new. The grilled pork is the same type of grilled pork you'd get in a banh mi, which I thought was a bit dry and too crumbly for a summer roll. The veggies were fresh and crisp. Overall though, there wasn't much flavor. The fish sauce, though, that came with the summer rolls were 5/5*. It was sweet and savory with umami flavor. I like my fish sauce on the sweeter side and this one had a nice balance, not too salty. Vietnamese Iced Coffee 4/5* Viet coffee always hits the spot. This one isn't as strong as some of the others I've tried, which is nice for an afternoon pick me up. There's tons of seating and the decor is simple yet cute. I wish I had tried the pho because it smelled amazing while we were eating there. Water is self-service and there was a little trolley with tons of condiments. She wanted either Bahn Mi or some kind of soup for lunch. We checked YELP and found Kibi's wasn't that far away. The ratings are quite high and supposedly, it allows dogs! It's located in a small strip mall in a space formerly occupied by Ike's Love & Sandwiches. We were disappointed to see that they did not have any tables and chairs outside. Fellow Yelpers, please be careful when checking the box on allowing dogs. California, Oregon and Washington all allow Service Dogs inside restaurants but not pets unless there is outdoor seating which does not require walking through the restaurant. And no, I'm not going to slap a Service Animal vest on my dog just so she can go inside. I waited outside with the dog while my wife went inside to order. We had already reviewed the menu on my phone and knew what we wanted. The line was short and the service excellent. Our order was put together quickly and our sandwiches cut in 1/2 as requested. What we got was fresh and delicious. Definitely another place that we'll return to when we're in the area. Apparently, they're in Walnut Creek and Orinda as well so we'll have to go see if they're just as good. read more

Vietnamese cuisine is great if you like texture contrasts, incorporation of fresh and pickled veggies, and of course cuisine centered around beef, pork, shrimp, or chicken. Kibi's cafe offers fast casual Vietnamese food that I would say accessible for the broader clientele, who might be wary of tendons, tripes, and cubes of pork-blood (common in spicy BBH). I came here with the wife on a lunch date and we got two well-executed dishes: No 46 Pho is a combo of meatballs, brisket, and thin slices of filet in a hearty beef broth. There's only one size and they have an excellent helping of meat, noodles, and beef broth. Noodles had great texture, meats were juicy, and the broth was superb. Neither oily nor overly salty. Its almost borderline sweet. The Bun here is served as a deconstructed noodle salad, instead of a well-mixed bowl. Fresh veggies, crunchy peanuts, and in my case some juicy, gingery pork. I liked the dish overall, but I was expecting grilled pork to be the firmer thin pieces with actual grill marks and caramelization. Kibi's also offers a range of banh mi, Vietnamese Coffees, and spring rolls with different fillings. No rice plates, which is fine since going low-carb is great every now and then. read more

I was excited to hear this place open up! There's not really a lot of Vietnamese food options in Danville, so I was surprised. The sign/logo isn't your usually Vietnamese logo that would make you think the sold pho or banh mi. I have past it so many times on my way to the post office that I didn't know this was here. Got some summer rolls a they were tasty! Vietnamese ice coffee was also good. Next time I go back I'll try the Thai iced tea. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and seen one table eating pho. Also curious to try their pho out as well as their banh mi. Service was good and I didn't have to wait very long. Located right next to the post office with Trader Joe's. Go check this place out! I visited Kibi's Cafe in Danville last week, and I'm still thinking about how amazing it was. You can truly feel that it's a loving, family-owned business. The care and pride they put into their food and service really shows. The pho was incredible. The broth had the perfect balance of rich umami, just the right amount of fat, and a depth of spices that made every sip comforting and flavorful. It was packed with tender slices of meat, silky rice noodles, and topped with fresh herbs like Thai basil, crisp bean sprouts, lime, and jalapeños that brought everything together beautifully. It tasted slow-simmered and authentic, exactly what you want from a great bowl of pho. The staff were superb!! So warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which made the experience even better. I also tried the Vietnamese coffee, which was very strong and a bit on the sweeter side, but still really enjoyable and paired well with the meal. I had just come from a not-so-great experience next door at The Melt, so I really appreciated how Kibi's completely turned my day around. It ended up being such a refreshing and memorable stop. I'd highly recommend stopping by and supporting this wonderful small business:) You can really taste the love in every dish. It's the PERFECT weeknight dinner to pick up for when you have a ton of afterschool activities, no time to cook, but need delicious food that's easy to eat on the go! I LOVE LOVE their banh mi. It's smaller than most other banh mi places, but it's perfect for us and we don't have leftovers sitting in the car. I usually get their combo (mini banh mi with three shrimp rolls). It's honestly the BEST banh mi in the area. I used to drive to Walnut Creek to get their food, but this location is much closer to all the afterschool activities so it's easier for us to go to the Danville location. read more

Great addition to downtown Danville. I wasn't prepared for such authentic Vietnamese food in suburbia but Kibi turned out to have great banh mi and pho. Banh mi came in a nice roll, with fresh meat and veggies. Pho was perfect for a cold spring evening. And the young kid at the cashier was friendly and informative. The Pho I had was dynamite! Noodles were nice & bouncy, broth was very tasty. They just opened up last week, the owner's son who was working the register said they are limited to seating for now. I met the mother as well, she was very nice. Service was great, the restaurant was very clean, food was phenomenal. Only thing I'd suggest is have some chili/garlic paste available to add to the pho (sriracha & hoisin was there), small suggestion, but no biggie. I also ordered the Shrimp Pho and it was the best I have ever had. The broth was very tasty, not too salty like some I have had at other places. Ordered take out from this restaurant for the first time last week, and it was our first experience trying their food. We ordered the chicken pho and the chicken/shrimp pho, and it was the best we've had in the east bay near Walnut Creek area. Definitely recommend this place for high quality and tasty pho. Not sure what it would be like to eat at the restaurant, but the take out service was done well. We received good portions and the food wasn't cold when it got home.
