Solid lunch with my sons today! An incredible meal and the Phô was delicious, savory and well worth the $18.50 for #46!

    Grilled Pork Summer Rolls

We randomly stopped by here to grab Vietnamese sandwiches after walking on the nearby trail. Although this is a chain, this location seems small biz family owed. Banh Mi Dac Biet 4/5* The banh mi is smaller than I'm used to, but I could already tell it would be delicious by the bubbles on the toasted baguette. The bread was so crunchy and perfect contrast to the soft cold cuts. The pickled veggies were sweet and sour, but I thought there was too many carrots. There were A LOT of carrots. Overall great combination of flavors inside a perfectly baked baguette. Grilled Pork Summer Rolls 3/5* This was just ok. I usually eat the shrimp rolls but decided to try something new. The grilled pork is the same type of grilled pork you'd get in a banh mi, which I thought was a bit dry and too crumbly for a summer roll. The veggies were fresh and crisp. Overall though, there wasn't much flavor. The fish sauce, though, that came with the summer rolls were 5/5*. It was sweet and savory with umami flavor. I like my fish sauce on the sweeter side and this one had a nice balance, not too salty. Vietnamese Iced Coffee 4/5* Viet coffee always hits the spot. This one isn't as strong as some of the others I've tried, which is nice for an afternoon pick me up. There's tons of seating and the decor is simple yet cute. I wish I had tried the pho because it smelled amazing while we were eating there. Water is self-service and there was a little trolley with tons of condiments. Great place for a quick and healthy meal.

She wanted either Bahn Mi or some kind of soup for lunch. We checked YELP and found Kibi's wasn't that far away. The ratings are quite high and supposedly, it allows dogs! It's located in a small strip mall in a space formerly occupied by Ike's Love & Sandwiches. We were disappointed to see that they did not have any tables and chairs outside. Fellow Yelpers, please be careful when checking the box on allowing dogs. California, Oregon and Washington all allow Service Dogs inside restaurants but not pets unless there is outdoor seating which does not require walking through the restaurant. And no, I'm not going to slap a Service Animal vest on my dog just so she can go inside. I waited outside with the dog while my wife went inside to order. We had already reviewed the menu on my phone and knew what we wanted. The line was short and the service excellent. Our order was put together quickly and our sandwiches cut in 1/2 as requested. What we got was fresh and delicious. Definitely another place that we'll return to when we're in the area. Apparently, they're in Walnut Creek and Orinda as well so we'll have to go see if they're just as good.

Grilled Pork Noodle Salad (4 stars) - pork very gingery, but lacking the caramelization and texture of truly grilled pork

Vietnamese cuisine has finally arrived in Danville! San Ramon and Dublin of course have tons of Vietnamese cuisine, from elevated places like Slanted Door to more authentic hole-in-wall places. Vietnamese cuisine is great if you like texture contrasts, incorporation of fresh and pickled veggies, and of course cuisine centered around beef, pork, shrimp, or chicken. Kibi's cafe offers fast casual Vietnamese food that I would say accessible for the broader clientele, who might be wary of tendons, tripes, and cubes of pork-blood (common in spicy BBH). I came here with the wife on a lunch date and we got two well-executed dishes: No 46 Pho is a combo of meatballs, brisket, and thin slices of filet in a hearty beef broth. There's only one size and they have an excellent helping of meat, noodles, and beef broth. Noodles had great texture, meats were juicy, and the broth was superb. Neither oily nor overly salty. Its almost borderline sweet. The Bun here is served as a deconstructed noodle salad, instead of a well-mixed bowl. Fresh veggies, crunchy peanuts, and in my case some juicy, gingery pork. I liked the dish overall, but I was expecting grilled pork to be the firmer thin pieces with actual grill marks and caramelization. Kibi's also offers a range of banh mi, Vietnamese Coffees, and spring rolls with different fillings. No rice plates, which is fine since going low-carb is great every now and then.

customer service needs work The kitchen is visible. The staff needs to be more mindful about shady behavior, and rude comments about customers. Vietnamese coffee 2/5 Shrimp, spring rolls 4/5 peanut sauce was the best part. I also ordered the pork Heo nuong extra veggies, 5/5 . The bread was fresh. Pork wasn't dry fortunately won't be back though I don't spend my money anywhere when people are unkind

Unquestionably 5 Stars. Delicious, fresh food. My tofu banh mi was fantastic, perfect bread/crisp. Extra veggies added = great value. My wife and daughter loved the pho, nice meats and not overly salty. The fresh spring roll was absolutely perfect was well. Options for vegetarian/vegan and meat eaters- perfect combo. Service was very polite and quick. Shop is nice, clean, well lit. I have been going to the location in Walnut Creek for a while so very happy that this new spot more than lived up to expectations. Will be back soon!

So excited to see this location open up closer to me! I always order bánh mì when I need something filling and quick. It's affordable and delicious. The bread is fresh and perfectly toasted. The turmeric and lemongrass grilled chicken sandwich is my favorite and is super flavorful. There's plenty of seating inside and you can order ahead and customize online! I look forward to trying the other menu items.

Food is fantastic here! Everything is fresh and perfectly seasoned. The fresh shrimp rolls come with a yummy peanut sauce. The sandwiches come in this amazing bread which has crunch on the outside and soft chewy inside. The Bun salad was so delicious Great service also.

Pho Bo #46, with brisket, rare filet & beef balls
    Jim C.

The Pho I had was dynamite! Noodles were nice & bouncy, broth was very tasty. They just opened up last week, the owner's son who was working the register said they are limited to seating for now. I met the mother as well, she was very nice. Service was great, the restaurant was very clean, food was phenomenal. Only thing I'd suggest is have some chili/garlic paste available to add to the pho (sriracha & hoisin was there), small suggestion, but no biggie. I wish them the best of luck in Danville, as they already have locations in Walnut Creek & Orinda. I will definitely be a regular as I've been PRAYING that Danville would finally get a Vietnamese restaurant.

Just stepping in lifts your spirit and creates joy. The thoughtful decor and beautiful design immediately stand out, creating a special atmosphere, even if you are simply meeting friends for lunch on a weekday. I never expected to find such a stunning restaurant tucked into a shopping strip in the heart of San Ramon. One Hour Bistro is truly a delightfull find. The same attention to detail reflected in the decor is also evident in the quality of the ingredients and the incredible flavors of each dish. Crystal glasses in a Thai restaurant? YES! They also offer mocktails which I wish I had time to try and savor. I ordered the Kao Soi Braised Short Ribs, and it was absolutely stunning; beautifully presented, generously portioned, and deeply comforting. The rich broth, tender bone-in ribs, and flavorful noodles made every bite memorable. I couldn't even finish the entire dish because I wanted to savore it slowly. The Pad See Ew was a silky, heavenly treat. The rice noodles were succulent, the vegetables were fresh, and everything was coated in a rich, flavorful sauce. If your driving through San Ramon, this is a MUST try. If you live in the area, lucky you!

The wines by the glass are awesome, if you like Chard, like my wife, they have Frank, Rom and Far Niente, all for $18. That is a steal for all 3, especially Far Niente. Most place charge $20 to $25 in Danville and rarely see Far Niente by the glass. The prices look reasonable on all the wines by the glass, so go get some! They also have great cocktails ($16, great price), my 2 favorites so far are Watermelon Seduction (4 Stars) and Pomtini (4 Stars, get on the rocks). Their bartenders mix the perfect balance, never too sweet or tart, just right! Food notes: Tang's Fried Rice (3 Stars, $30 with chicken, beef, shrimp, so 2 Stars) The base price for fried rice was $19, ok pricy but if you ask for combination fried rice (chicken, beef and shrimp), the price is $30, $11 increase. They charge for each protein, ridiculous! The rice was not that great, they didn't use a long grain rice, some sort of short grain, but not fat, still thin, like the rice was broken in half. All the ingredients were fresh, but nothing special. And the egg, no large chucks, just tiny bits mix in. Szechuan Green Beans with chicken (4 Stars, $20 with chicken). The green beans were fresh, not overcooked, still slightly crunchy. The sauce had some heat and the chicken was cooked perfectly. Roasted peanuts were added, nice touch! Rolling Lettuce Cups with Chicken (4.5 Stars $17) The lettuce cups were perfectly cut from the head lettuce, no ruff edges, easily separated and large. One of the best execution of lettuce cups I've seen! The chicken filling was also awesome! It was not serviced with plum sauce, kinda missed it, but instead some thin sauce, good, not sure exactly what, but definitely not plum. Pork Belly Bao (5 Stars) Really good, get some! Mongolian Beef (3 Stars) The beef was thin sliced and good quality, but the sauce was to sweet, heavy on hoisin, plenty of sliced onion and green onion. No heat. Kung Pao Chicken (3 Stars) I liked the shiitake mushrooms, but the rest was just okay. Shu Mai (4.5 Stars) Really good filling to the top, good size dumping (almost have to cut in half to eat) serviced with chili sauce. I mixed some table soy and chili sauce together, perfect dipping sauce. Yo's Rock Shrimp with Sriracha Mayo (3.5 Stars) Good quality shrimp, nice and lightly batter, deep fried but not over cooked. Until next time...

We arrived for an early dinner around 5 PM, full of nostalgia and high expectations...and left with very mixed feelings. We started with drinks and three appetizers to share. The pineapple spritzer was a great way to kick things off...refreshing, well-balanced, and not sweet which I appreciate. Our apps: - Crispy Shrimp and Pork Imperial Eggrolls: we re-ordered this. Tasty enough, but the portion size for the price was genuinely disappointing. You're getting a few small bites and not much else. - Shrimp and Chive Pan Fried Dumplings: The biggest letdown of the night. The dough on the bottom was thick and gummy, and the filling was completely bland.....no seasoning, no excitement. Pass. - Hoisin Barbecue Pork Ribs: The best of the three in terms of portion, but brace yourself -- these are an absolute mess to eat. I would not order these again. With mixed feelings about the food, we jumped straight to dessert, which is where the meal was redeemed. The burnt Basque cheesecake came topped with diced caramel apples and crispy strudel- one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. Overall, this visit left us a little deflated. The appetizers underdelivered for the price, and it stings a bit on a sentimental occasion. That said, I'm still curious about their entrées. I have my eye on the whole catfish or their lunchtime pho.
