My husband and I have traveled all over the country visiting gastropubs and brew pubs. As far as gastro's go, this is it. The food is off the charts. Unique and well crafted. Chef Mike is a kitchen god. We have not missed a Beer Dinner yet. The rotation of the menu is also a huge bonus. Always new things to try. Very impressive tap list that also rotates on a regular basis. The staff is very friendly. I don't think there's anyone who works there that doesn't know us when we walk through the door. We went to 101 Beer Kitchen last evening and we had an awesome experience! The food is phenomenal, beers amazing and the service was outstanding. We have two small kids and our server gave them a ton of attention and brought out two trays so they could share their meal. He even included an extra drink for them. We mentioned we were going to share the burger and the cuban and when they brought it out they had split it all onto four plates for us! They go above and beyond in service. So my wife and I went out on Friday to get some food and decided on this spot. I was excited to try the lobster roll since I haven't found a good one since we left Boston. We opted for that and the BBQ pork chop. It came with mexican street corn, potatoes, and fried mac and cheese. I tried the lemonade and wasn't a fan so our server switched it out for a root beer and that was delicious. The food came and everything was correct and looked delicious. We started with the corn on each of our plates and that is when the first surprise came. We have been to Mexico and had street corn and it has a little spice to it but mostly was delicious. This corn was somewhere in the habanero range with absolutely no warning. The server knew it was our first time and the menu said nothing about it. It had a good flavor but it was so hot that we drained our drinks fairly quick. They sat that way for the rest of the meal. I get that this is the way that they make it but there needs to be some warning involved about the heat. We tried the lobster roll next and it was good with lots of crab but it also had a very strong taste of celery. The pork chop was good as well so no complaints there. Overall the service wasn't great and the food was good but not amazing. I am not a beer guy so I can't help you there but if you are looking for decent food this will cut it. read more

Yum!! This place is so yummy! When I think of deviled eggs and shrimp n grits, I miss the south. But oh my! They are like momma can make them with a welcome twist! Ok enough; decent beer selection, decent pub food. Not especially memorable, but certainly worth a stop for a beer lover.

The place itself is very trendy. We arrived at 5:30 on a Saturday evening with 2 adults and 3 kids and were seated right away. It began to get extremely busy (close quarters!) by 6pm. The kids liked being able to pick entrees, sides, drinks, and desserts from the kids meal "order form" type menu. They all liked their food well enough... Pizza, Mac and cheese (I tried it, it was good), and chicken taco rolls. I ordered a margarita Roja which stated it was made with blood orange juice and house made simple syrup (among other ingredients) it was $9. It was served in a small martini glass and lacked any bit of sweetness at all. If you like the flavor of watered down tequila you may like this margarita. My husband ordered the Bloody Mary (spicy). It was $9 and completely amazing!!! You will not go wrong with the Bloody Mary! For dinner he had a burger and fries which he said was decent but nothing special. I was super excited to order the shrimp and grits. The shrimp were large and cooked perfectly. However, it also includes andouille sausage which tasted too much like kielbasa and left a thick layer of that nasty orange grease all over the grits. I didn't eat much of it. I ordered the Green Chili to go and ate it later back at the hotel. It was quite delicious but they forgot to include the rice that was supposed to come with it so I was still a bit hungry when done with the small portion of chili. The reason I'm giving this place 3 stars is because the service was PAINFULLY slow and waitress had to be reminded over and over to bring items we had requested. Also because two average quality dinners, three kids meals, and two drinks was over $100. I'm all about spending money for good food but this just wasn't worth it! read more

The coffee is so bad that I had to update my review to warn everyone how bad it is. It is top 5 of all time worst coffees I have ever had. Charging $2.50 a cup is pure robbery. I've never had a bad meal here but their vegan burger and house-made tater tots are both memorable. The beer selection is overwhelming the waiters are knowledgeable and can help. My only gripe is that they don't take reservations and it's hard to get a table. Of course, it's hard to get a table because the food and service are good. read more

Low rating due to Small menu and limited beer selection. I was turned off by having so many beers, but not having domestic beer selections. I did not like the suggested craft beer (I did drink all of it), I would have preferred a Bud. The food was very good, I ordered the chicken sandwich, and it was fantastic. However very limited menu options left me ordering the only thing I wanted to try. At least consider having one domestic option for beer, Yuengling is the oldest brewer in America would be a nice option. read more

We really liked our experience and would definite recommend to others. All of the apps we ordered were delicious( the pretzels, wings and tater tots) and our entrees were really good as well. Great concept, food was great, beer selection was fantastic, but the service was horrendous. We went on a Friday night and did call ahead seating at 5:30 (you can only do an hour before). Arrived at 6:30 and still waited well over an hour to be paged to the hostess table. We walk up to the hostess and she tells us that she didn't think we would come up to the hostess table that quickly after being paged and that our table was not ready. Meanwhile someone in our party overheard a conversation with another party that apparently knew the hostess and they were given our table... Anyway, we were eventually seated and a server came by and told us she would be with us in a minute, and that she was just finishing up an order with another table. Over the next 15 minutes, 3 different people had asked us if our server had been by and we said yes but we were growing very impatient. Our server eventually came back and we placed our drink and food orders immediately since we had been waiting for what seemed like an eternity. Some time after placing our order a server arrived at our table with another tables food... I was shocked by how disorganized the staff was. Granted they were extremely busy, but if they were a little more efficient I would assume that they would be able to turn-over tables much quicker and the wait to be seated would be greatly reduced. My wife and I both ordered the burger and it was great, which I mentioned above. It was just disappointing that the service was so horrible because the place has great potential. In the end, it took 4 hours from the time we did the call ahead seating to the time we finished dinner, so be prepared to waste an entire evening if you plan to eat here on a Fri. or Sat. This to me is way too long to wait for a burger and a couple of beers. I would consider going back maybe on a weeknight when they are less busy or maybe after the newness factor dies down. Bottom line- I will probably go to the Winking Lizard over this place in the near future. They have a much better beer selection and you can get in and out w/in an hour. read more

Although 101 Beer Kitchen has been open for a year, I just discovered it when I drove around the side of the Kroger Shopping Center on Sawmill. I wonder how many others are unaware of it because of it's location. It looked like a good place to eat, so at the first opportunity I stopped in for lunch. It is light, airy, well decorated and in general a great atmosphere. The menu is small. but sophisticated. I was told that it changes seasonally. A cute touch -- the water is served in what looks like the stereotype jugs that "white lightening" from old time stills was bottled.. My waiter poured a glass of water for me and left me to peruse the menu. If I let my first impression guide me I would have left the restaurant immediately. The water, straight from the tap, tasted like Chlorox bleach. It was horrible and made me want to order something to drink immediately to get the taste out of my mouth. 101 Beer Kitchen should filter its water in order to match its image. I placed an order for the veggie burger and fries. While waiting the waiter helped me with beer selection; however he never told me I could try samples. I enjoyed the beer I ordered although I felt the $6.00 price tag was hefty. The meal arrived and the food was good. I have no complaints, but I also don't believe it was memorable. I won't be having any cravings to return for more of the same. Maybe it is a good thing that the menu does change seasonally! I would like to see some featured items for vegetarians. My waiter was good and friendly; however he stayed a bit aloof. By this I mean that he made sufficient trips to the table, answered my questions, but made no effort to "go the extra mile". It was 3:00 PM and he only had one other table so he could have made an attempt to be a little more informative and available for some brief conversation. I would have liked to give him some of my impressions of the place. It's nice that Yelp is fulfilling my need for that. Will I go back -- most likely since the menu and beer choices are ever changing, but I don't feel an immediate urge to go back as soon as possible. read more

My wife and I went this past Saturday, Sept 6 at around 8pm . The service was BAD. After we were seated we were ignored for about 7 minutes. Just before walking out our waiter asked us what we would like to drink. He seemed distracted and not happy to be working there, luckily for us we got a new waiter who was better. My biggest complaint is that a joint that calls itself the 101 beer kitchen yet has only about a dozen beers on tap is false advertising. Sure they have a lot of bottled beer and the beers I had were good but come on beer kitchen, step it up. And instruct your waitstaff that the customer is why he/she is there, not the other way around . The food was good too. But if youre gonna serve a specialtu pretzel serve it with a mustard sauce, not some crisco tasting blase sauce . read more

A mediocre limited menu of comfort food. 101 beers, sure -- except they are usually out of 88 of them. I have had friends told that every beer they wanted was out of stock. Really hard to understand how anyone gave this place a good review, this is near my home, but I have experienced slow service and I understood more about the food they were offering than the waiter by reading the menu. We always seem to end up here for brunch, but I've never been disappointed. Very good menu variety, and I've never had anything I didn't love. My favorite is the fried chicken and biscuits. Well executed fried chicken on top of buttery flaky biscuits, with a spicy sweet gravy that I would gladly guzzle if it came in a glass. The craft beer drinker in my family is always happy with their selection on draught. My daughter is extremely happy with their children's menu options, which are always fresh and delicious. You will find a lot of families here, but that's usually the case in the Dublin/Powell area. read more

Had a not-so-great experience this visit. Went on a rainy Friday for an early dinner for a group of 6 around 530pm, and restaurant was quieter than has been in previous 2 weekend visits. Tater tot appetizer was great, flavorful and savory as usual. I had the 1/2 chicken *moist and delicious* and swapped out bean salad for Mac and cheese. Not sure if Mac is always a little vinegary but was rather off-putting to my senses. Seemed really overpowering. Mother-in-law got the pork chops which I've had previously and were great, tonight however, she found them to be pretty tough. Then, a few bites in, discovers a pink and undercooked center. Ugh, hard to recover after that. Wait staff and what I assume to be head cook came out and responded quickly but it is hard to say yes to more food after that trust circle has been broken! Passed on a replacement chop and dessert but were compensated fairly on check. Whole incident was rather too passed-over by staff for me. Maybe it's a liability issue to acknowledge raw meat but a couple sorries can go a long way ;) probably won't be back, some food has been great but there are too many other options on NW side and that raw shiny center is gonna be in my memory for awhile. read more

The atmosphere of 101 Beer Kitchen is great - very relaxed but trendy. The poutine wasn't the best I've ever had, but I would definitely order it when I go back. The shrimp and grits were well seasoned and delicious. The pretzels were so-so but the cheese sauce with them was really good. The only recommendation I have for them is to include the beer descriptions on their website on the menu. We were all on our phones reading the descriptions. read more

I've been to 101 Beer kitchen three times now. The most recent trip there was kind of a disappointment. They have recently updated the menu and it seemed to have too few choices.
