Wanted to try a new place to eat so we went here. We ordered a few local beers which were pretty good. For our meal we just ordered a bunch of things to share (Pub Salad, Roasted Dates, mac n cheese, pepperoni pizza, Scallion Pancakes, and Pork Belly buns). The salad was really fresh and good ingredients and dressing. *The dates had nice flavor and cooked good. *The mac n cheese noodles were cooked perfect, just could've used more cheese in the dish *The pork belly buns were nice and fluffy, and the pork flavor was good and the pork was tender *The Scallion pancakes were crispy and good *The pizza was the highlight, the dough was light and fluffy, and the sauce and overall flavor was great. *For dessert, we had the strawberry shortbread, it needed more strawberry flavor or sauce to go with it, just the strawberries alone was just ok. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive to whatever we needed. All the food came out pretty quick to so that was good. We would definitely come back to this place. read more

Loved this place! The open area to the kitchen was neat to watch throughout dinner. I took my daughter and her friend, we were starving so ordered the Brussel sprouts and cheese curds. Both were delicious!! We had a mixture of chicken tacos, cheese pizza, and the pub burger. It was delicious, but if you are split on the burger and the tacos, go with the tacos!! Good beer and drink selection as well. With 2 appetizers, 3 entrees, and 2 beers the total was $86! That was a steal for how good the food was. Will definitely be back! read more

We were in town for the sunflower festival and decided to stop here for dinner. We got the cheese curd, Margherita pizza, Mac and cheese with brisket and tacos. When you walk in it has a nice welcoming atmosphere. A standout feature is their masonry oven. And immediately I wanted to try their pizza. It was an interesting take on cheese curds. See the picture. Cheese curds is served with toast. the bread is seasoned with garlic and other things that pairs well with the cheese. Definitely recommend it. The mac and cheese with brisket was fantastic. Brisket has a sweetness that complements the salty Mac and cheese. I highly recommend this one. The staff was very helpful and friendly. When my daughter had a meltdown Sarah (our server) came over and offered fruit. I would definitely go back when I am in town again. read more

Stopped in on a busy Saturday night for a late dinner. While the place was hoping and had a fun atmosphere going the only place they had for our table of four was upstairs. We were all by ourselves in this small cave like setting. But the food and drink mostly made up for the seclusion. I enjoyed the beer selection that contained many local brews. For an appetizer we got the breaded cheese curds, which is very misleading by name since it came out with melted cheese in a skillet and crostini bread around the outside. Even though it was not as expected it was deliciously awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner of pork belly steam buns that had the right amount of kick. I also got to sample the brisket mac n' cheese which was tasty too. Next time I would like to sit on the main floor and get to be apart of the action. read more

So this is going to be a little confusing. We are staying in Wooster for a couple day getaway for our anniversary and was directed to Broken Rocks via Yelp. So we got to Wooster which is charming in itself and saw music being played outside. We got there and there was a 45 min wait. This made us sad, so we notices Rox is attached, so we asked if they had tables. They said 15 min and we figured that is ok. We went to wait outside (socially distanced) and they discovered the other people waiting weren't there anymore and we got a table right away. We had full view of the stone pizza oven. When we were seated our waitress noted she had table also on the other side. We then found out we could order from the menu at Broken Rocks. So, our food is on Broken Rocks Menu. We started with drinks. My husband got a mule and I got capahrina. The drinks were perfect. For dinner I got the wild mushroom pasta (with a different sauce that they gladly accommodated). My husband got the brisket. The food again was perfect. The care to the flavor profiles were spot on and much appreciated. We got dessert to go (which we ate later). My husband is already planning a trip to come back 2 hours just to return to this resturant. The service was outstanding. From beginning we were greeted and they found a way to serve us. The server was polite and engaging. She explain the Dora program. So apparently the town is allowing people to purchase to go drinks and sit outside in a defined space. This is a great as it keeps people who would sit at a bar socially distancing outside and at benches listening to live music. read more

A gastropub. In Wooster, OH. It's real and it's spectacular. Rox is an amazing choice for any date night. The food is particularly well prepared and paired well with some top notch spirits. It's like Broken Rocks taken up a step. I had the udon noodle bowl, which I now crave whenever the temperature drops. The portion was large and featured delicious pork, delicate noodles, and one of the best eggs I've had in a soup this side of Cleveland. The fired pizzas have the holy trinity of crusts: Crispy in the right parts, light and airy in others, and smoky in flavor. The toppings are unique, fresh, and very high quality. You might feel obligated to split a pizza, but trust me: everyone should get their own individual pizza and share. Rox is a wonderful dining experience, and accessible enough to be a regular occurrence. It compliments Broken Rocks well, and is a much needed part of the Wooster dining scene. read more

Here on a Saturday evening. It was busy but we were seated fairly quickly. The service left a lot to be desired, however. I watched as my beer sat behind the bar for 15 minutes until someone(a bartender- not my waitress) came to ask if I had ordered a Guiness. The food was only ok. The deviled eggs which I had enjoyed before were runny. The cheese curds were a greasy mass of cheese on a pan with bread on the side. The pizza had a good crust but the toppings seemed inconsistent. The mac and cheese looked delicious but had a grainy texture and lacked flavor. Or waitress only checked in once at the end of the meal even though the restaurant had emptied. read more

My wife and I came here for Happy Hour and had a great meal. For a drink we had Bent Ladder cider. Very crisp and refreshing on a hot day. For the happy hour dishes we had Shrimp steam buns, Banh Mi and the Southwest pizza. The Shrimp steam buns, 3 of them, were in a dish that served them standing up so that you could grab them and eat them easily, a little like tacos. They had shrimp, vegetable slaw and hoisin bbq sauce with some sriracha. Melt in your mouth tasty. The Banh Mi sandwich was pork loin, vegetable slaw and chili mayo on a crunchy baguette. It was a nice taste and texture contrast with the Shrimp steam buns. The pizza was called the Southwest pizza which had black beans, salsa fresca, corn relish and chipotle crema. It was a lot of food and we had to take half of the banh mi sandwich home because he couldn't finish everything. The restaurant has a very stylish decor and great service. This place is slightly confusing, for it's an offshoot of the Broken Rocks Cafe, which is right next door and can be accessed from inside. Regardless, a small open kitchen in the corner caters to the diners, which includes an oven for great wood fired pizza. An okay draft craft beer selection, including some locals, served us well, as did the by the glass wine list. Friendly, knowledgable bartender on the night of September 10 did a great job with us and the rest of the late night crew. She can make a mean martini (request Bombay Sapphire), one of the best I've ever had. The Peach Old Fashioned was a little odd, for you couldn't really taste the peach, but I admired the seasonal approach to the menus and cocktail list. I highly suggest saving room for the S'more dessert. Even if you don't like S'mores you're going to love this warm marshmallowy masterpiece! read more
