I started with a greeting by the host. I was seated immediately (party of 1) at a table for 2. The waiter arrived soon and promptly took my order - delivering a glass of ice water and the bread served with a nice oil & vinegar bread sauce. I ordered a meat lovers pizza (think crust) 10". The crust was delicious and crunchy. The meat lovers pizza was delicious - including meatball sausage which was used and was so tasty! I really enjoyed the meal and had 3 pieces to take home! read more

This is the worst "Italian" restaurant I've ever eaten at. Who is giving this 5 stars?? It has to be someone's mom. The bread, I will say is 5 stars, it's over five stars. Everything else was downhill. It took us over an hour and a half to get served two side salads, lasagna, spicy penne. The table we were sat at was made up but not wiped. The lasagna was mush,.. the noodles were just mushy globs. Everything was so, so terrible. The penne was actually cooked correctly but it was just one note with the sauce. I am so disappointed. The poor service made it just so much worse. It was very, very loud in the back room. The ladies bathroom needed serviced. It wasn't the worst, but for the price of the food, we deserved more than a McDonald's cleanliness and paper towels in the sink and floors. read more

Really great porch. Service was good, but food was mediocre. Reminds me of an offshoot of Olive Garden with cheap olive oil, cheap non-nutritious iceberg lettuce really wouldn't recommend it but it appears that maybe the Pizza would be a better recommendation. Had the meatballs which were just OK, covered with generic tomato sauce and had an eggplant Parmesan - with overdone noodles and generic tomato sauce. My dog liked it Consider going somewhere else read more

Seeing this place has almost 4 stars on here makes me never want to trust reviews. I gave it 2 tries in case it was a fluke....straight up disgusting food....its sad when the spaghetti i make from bag noodles and jars at home is easily 50xs better...and im not the best cook. So so gross I couldnt even eat it. Not tomention the dishwasher came stomping out telling everyone that they ran out of soap two days earlier and they were making him wash the dishes as best he could with just water read more

This place is a true delight. Fantastic atmosphere and service. Bread and salad was delicious. The chicken Marsala was so good. Wish I could have had some desert but was so full. Fantastic service and food. Recommend coming to this Italian place. read more

Friendly, clean! The spaghetti and meatballs that came with salad and focaccia bread and was delicious. It arrived with plenty of delicious sauce. The whole table had leftovers to enjoy at home, saving room for dessert. The tiramisu was a perfect end to our meal. read more

The first time I had the salmon it was wonderful with the lemon cello sauce but ever since the sauce was so watery you can't call it a sauce. Please make it a sauce again! Also I agree that the red sauce is lacking flavor read more

Saturday evening- this place was recommended. Here's what we liked: * Immediate seating if we wanted the patio. Worked out fine. * great ambiance with the two fire pits on their patio. Although it was a little warm for a fire. Still cool. * House salad with dinner was perfectly fine with ingredients and dressing. *Chicken Parmesan was quite good Here is what we thought could be better: * the Pace of the experience. Was seated immediately then waited a lengthy amount of time before being greeted. We had ordered an appetizer which came out fairly quick, then it was bred/oil then salad and dinner. We were still eating the app and salad when dinner arrived. Felt very rushed. * The pasta with the Chick Parm was lacking flavor. * Lasagna was just bland sauce and noodles. Not enough filling, sauce or baked enough. * the Spinach artichoke dip needed something as it was a bit in the bland side as well. Overall it was ok- just nothing great. read more

My husband and I frequent this restaurant. Every time we go everyone that has waited on us has been amazing. The managers also care and make sure you are 100% satisfied with your food and experience. read more

I am sorry I didn't read the reviews on yelp before trying this restaurant. I am visiting Wooster and saw the restaurant during my visit and the atmosphere was very nice. The restaurant had lots of seating available, I was seated right away and the waited 15-20 minutes before I got up and went back to the hostess stand and asked if a server was going to take my order. The hostess said oh let me get some one. The food was good, the focaccia bread was soft and tasty. I had the spaghetti and meatballs and it was really good. I saw several people come in and then leave because no one waited on them. I don't know who is in charge of managing the wait staff but there seems to be an issue with wait times and service times . read more

Went to Mariola Italian in Wooster with a group of five, and to be honest, it wasn't the best experience. First, we had to wait a long time, even when we were at the top of the waitlist. Then, even though we were five, they put us at a table for four. One of us had to sit weirdly in the aisle. It was awkward. They gave us bread, but it was too little for all of us, so we had to ask for more. The bread wasn't that great, but at least the oil and balsamic tasted good. Most of us got salads, which came out quickly. I got the Italian wedding soup, but they forgot to bring it out until I reminded them during the entree. And when it finally came, it was pretty much just noodles (no liquid). I hope they don't sever that at any wedding. I got the pasta with meatballs, which was a disappointment, The sauce was bland, didn't stick to the noodles, and there wasn't much of it. Frankly, I've tasted better store bought sauces. Plus For $17, ($$$) I thought the portion was too small... I've seen bigger kid's meals at other places. The good part? They have a nice patio. It's a cool spot to hang out. The area feels so different now, and for the better! read more

Grand Opening. Sat at the bar. I was served by one of my favorite bartenders Tiffany. I ordered an Italian Margarita & Mr. Mariola Pizza. The margarita was very refreshing. The pizza had a good tasting red sauce and adequate toppings. The crust was the hit for me. I believe it had a breadcrumb bottom. The entrees I saw other people eating were very large portions. The bar area was packed and no one was complaining so it's safe to say they enjoyed their food as much as I did. This was a much needed restaurant in Wooster. The menu is simple, and price point fair for the quality and amount of food you receive. When I return I will sit outside on the gorgeous patio. You must give this place a try!! read more

I like the pizzas. The bread and oil is good, too. Friendly staff and a nice environment.

What a fantastic new Italian restaurant! Great food. Great service. A genuinely classy place. I had the lasagna. Flavorful with a wonderful chew. My friends had the spaghetti and meatballs and the salmon, both full of wonderful flavors and spices. Even the house salad was terrific. Mariola is relatively new in town, but it's really a great new addition to Wooster's growing downtown restaurant scene. Particularly with the decline in Coccia House, it shows every indication of becoming THE best local Italian place. Live music and a comfortable, well designed dining area only add to the experience. Highly recommended. read more

The closest I've had to real NY style pizza. It was Incredible! The Sauce was Awesome, and everything was so fresh and tasty! Had been wanting to check out the new Italian restaurant in Wooster, OH and it did not disappoint. The ambiance was inviting, lots of tables which was nice as the wait was less than 10 minutes at 8pm on a Friday night. We got the the Mariola House Salad, Chicken Parmesan, and a large Pittsburgh Nappi Pizza Pie which was more than enough for four people. The pizzas are very thick - almost like deep dish. Drink prices were also very reasonable. Overall, would highly recommend and i cannot wait to come back and check out their charming patio. read more

The good--a well-designed space and a welcome architectural addition to this part of Liberty St. The not-so-great--the food was lacking in taste, though the portion sizes were generous if you like 2000 calories per meal. The bad--while the staff was pleasant their sense of urgency was utterly lacking. Our entrees took about 45 minutes despite being the only three customers on site. read more

The service and meals were fantastic. Maddy, our server, was a pleasure and so personable.

Sitting in the Millersburg/Holmes County airport waiting for pax to return and the airport managers wife dropped him off a pizza from here. He offered my copilot and I a slice and we cheerfully accepted. What a good piece of pizza even cold. The banana peppers were a very nice touch. Great crust and a nice layer of cheese. He said it's a pretty new place and I wish them luck, the cold pizza was great, bet it's really good hot and stringy. read more

The food was good, the service was great, and it's wonderful to have an Italian place in Wooster. There was plenty of seating and lots of room at our table for four. We had to wait a little longer for the pizza to come out, but that only because the appetizers, salads, and dinners came out so quickly. This place is good enough that it's going to be busy at peak dinner times. Expect a wait. Use the website or call in to get on the list. I expect this place to be packed for at least the next six months. At this point, they don't take reservations. read more

Front of house service was good. The spicy penne dish was lacking the spiciness it was supposed to have. It might have been the mildest thing I ever had while being told it spicy. Secondly, the garlic in my dish was not chopped,or minced. I had 6 whole cloves and biting into the first couple was a major turn off. The back of house cooking lacks quality. read more

The food was fine. Nothing amazing but completely fine I ordered a Lemoncello Martini (one of my favorites). I was served a dink that was only 1/3 of a drink and when I asked the server about if she just ignored me. 9$ and literally 3 sips. Also super sweet and non alcoholic tasting. I'll give the restaurant another try but so far not wonderful Very noisy atmosphere inside as well. read more

Mariola Italian - This is how my drink was served. ‍ - Pizza Near Me - Wooster, Ohio

We had a party of seven. Each person ordered something different. We had the calamari and roasted goat cheese as appetizers. Both things were delicious. Our party then had the shrimp scampi, spicy chicken penne, Italian sausage rigatoni, fettuccine Alfredo, parm crusted salmon, and a pizza. Everything was delicious and the portions were more than enough. The shrimp scampi was the top of the list for me. Next time I will definitely be getting a salad as they look delicious going by. Our waitress Avery was top notch. The place was full and we never waited for anything. She was very friendly and informative with any questions we had. Our bill for 7 people was reasonable. Our food came in a timely manner. All in all a great experience. read more

Wavered between a three and four stars and decided they definitely deserve 4. Great place to bring a group of people like a group of hungry college kids. We had a group of 10 without reservations and they were able to seat us within 15 minutes. Service was really good. The ambiance was exactly what you want for a family Italian place. The food was OK, nothing too special. I had the baked cheese ravioli and also a slice of my kid's pizza. Decent, but nothin mouth watering. Definitely will go back. read more

Service was great. Waitress hung around and didn't make us wait but sensed our timing and served food in a good time and the food was hot. Nice place. You can tell it's new to the area. The fireplace was on which was nice for today. John has the lasagna good, hot and went well with the Caesar salad and bread. I had shrimp scampi and though a little too watery was good and served hot. The shrimp were small, the spinach slight and would have been much better with buttter/wine/seasoning added. We agree we will go back next time we are in Wooster. Took half home for tomorrow. read more

Visited for the first time over the weekend. I so wanted to love this place. Inside and outside look great. Service was excellent. Food, not so much. It was ok but nothing spectacular. Our server even told us the pasta was "okay" but pizza was great. We didn't like the pizza either. Panko bread crumbs on the bottom made it crunchy, greasy and crumbs EVERYWHERE. Also extremely PRICEY. 17.50 for a 10-in pizza?!?!?! Husband got 2 toppings (chicken) on his but since one was not a regular topping offered, his was over $20 for a 10-in. Also, please CHOP veggies! No one wants huge chunks on such a small pizza. Still charge per topping but you get much less. I doubt we will return. read more

Yesterday I was getting my hair done at Flourish Beauty Bar and asked Taylor my stylist about Mariola. She is Italian and when in Rome ask the real thing. She raved about it. So I walked over. They were very nice. I have a disability and walking is difficult, since I walked they took my order instead of me needing to walk farther. To go orders are at another area, they brought me a chair and some water. They care about their customers. I brought home the 10" fig and pig pizza and 2 cannoli. My husband and I had had a similar pizza in a little Italian restaurant in CA, but this was so. so good. Sweet and Savory. Rarely do I have a problem with stopping at 2 pieces, but I went back later for another piece. The cannoli well, an Italian meal is not and Italian meal without dessert and these are indescribably delicious . Also, they carried my order to my car for me. Kindness ! read more

Came here for dinner on our visit to Wooster, recommended by a local. There were 6 of us (two teens, two pre-teens and two adults-some of us very picky) and we all were able to find something we liked from the menu. I had a pizza on the cauliflower crust-highly recommend! All the food was delicious and our server was very friendly, personable and attentive. She was even helpful in suggesting a breakfast location for us for the next day (which was a stellar recommendation!). The restaurant was big, clean and spacious-didn't feel like we were sitting on top of other diners, plenty of room between tables for some "privacy" of conversation. I will definitely come back when I'm in town again. read more

I give this place a 3 for food, a 1 for service. Food: The bread was very good. The rest of the food was meh. I had the eggplant parmesan, served with spaghetti. My own homemade sauce is 100% better (and I'm not Italian). The eggplant was crispy (the midwest knows how to fry) but otherwise unremarkable. Note that entrees do not come with salad or veggies. A salad with a meal (looked like bagged salad mix) was an additional $4.95. If you go after reading this review, I suggest you buy salad mix at Buehler's and make salad at home before dinner. Service: I would give a zero if I could. We were a party of 9, including a 94-year-old with mobility issues. We called a week ahead, but they do not take reservations. They said to call on the day to see if we needed to get on their on-line waiting list. We also asked about outdoor seating, and were told it would be available. On the day, we called 45 minutes ahead of our desired time, and they said it wouldn't be a problem to accommodate our group. My brother arrived 5 minutes early to a mostly-empty restaurant & was told it would be 20 minutes. When the rest of the party arrived, we asked to be seated outdoors. It was a hot and sunny day, but there were plenty of umbrellas on the patio. As soon as we were shown our table, the hostess left us, without helping the 94-YO. We observed that all of the other tables were shaded by umbrellas, but our table had been moved out of the shade into the sun. Several umbrellas were sitting unused. We tried to move one, but concluded it was too heavy. Another patron tried to move it for us, but I suggested we find a staff person (there were none outside) to ask about moving the tables back into the shade. While we were deciding what to do, a staff person came out, screaming at us not to move the umbrellas. When we asked about moving the table back into the shade, she was very snarky and said that couldn't be done. She expected us to sit in the sun for the duration of our meal. We opted to sit inside. We assisted the 94-YO back inside. Our server was ok. However, the runners who brought out our food didn't know what food went to each person, and somehow the kitchen managed to forget my husband's order of spaghetti with meatballs, so he had to wait while that plate was prepared. We tried to make it easy for the restaurant to accommodate us, calling ahead twice, arriving a bit early, and suggesting solutions to the problem, but their incompetence has cost them a future customer. Nine, in fact. read more

I ordered the Wooster Special Pizza...meh. A salt bomb and not much other flavor...pretty disappointing. I was debating between the evening special pasta dish and a pizza, but the waitress assured me the pizza was "awesome", so I took her advice.
