VERY HELPFUL! My in-laws lost power in part of their house. FIL used to be a general contractor so he wanted to replace the circuit breaker piece. He was concerned that the piece was an old style that might not be made any more, and he didn't know any stores in the area that would carry a part like that. There was a place in the Bay Area but we told him that was too far to drive and urged him to just hire an electrician. The problem is, we didn't know if it was the circuit breaker, the GFCI breaker, or something totally different. In-laws were also concerned an electrician would charge an arm and a leg for the repairs, and they were on a fixed income with a tight budget. I decided to come on Yelp for help. Messaged a few electricians and companies in their area with the highest Yelp reviews. Jeff from 1 Source Electric responded as we were driving away from my in-laws' house. We hired Jeff to help us install a new sprinkler timer and help me clean up the rats nest of wires outside of our 80+ year old home. He wired up some outdoor outlets and repaired/replaced some outlets throughout the home as well. He recommended that we install two GFI protected circuit breakers on circuits that weren't grounded, and in doing so we uncovered a problem with the way one of the circuits was wired as turning on the kitchen lights caused the new GFI breaker to trip. He came back the very next day and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. On a Saturday at 1pm we suddenly lost power to our garage doors, a few lights and a bathroom. Jeff picked up immediately and told me he could be in Davis within 30 minutes. It was a complicated process to diagnose the issue but he ultimately discovered a recently incorrectly installed Ring light had caused the short circuit.
