After unfortunately overloading a GFCI plug in our master bathroom, I went out to the panel to reset the breaker but found it had not tripped. Baffled, I sent a message to T&M Electronics through the company's website. Early the next business day, T&M returned my call. I explained the situation and later received a call from Tim, one of the owners. Tim asked me a series of questions to diagnose the problem. I could tell I was speaking with a very experienced electrician. Tim gave me a time window to expect the arrival of Nick, an electrical technician. Nick arrived on time and did a fantastic job. He quickly discovered a faulty ground wire, likely the work of a previous whole-house fan contractor. Nick took the time to explain how the GFCI wiring configuration works and also inspected two other plugs on the same GFCI circuit. He was a pleasure to work with, explaining the cause and effect of wiring issues present in a home the age of ours. Nick's thoroughness led to discovering two breakers and two plugs needing replacement. I was told the hourly rate before the work started, and I found the total expense well worth all the work done and the expertise of both Tim and Nick. Top Notch Company - HIGHLY recommend! Start to finish, very professional, excellent work. TIm came to do the initial consult and give us an estimate. He throughly explained every necessary step. Work was scheduled and started soon after. TIm, Cole, Michael and Hunter came out to replace 30 year old dimmer switches, add can lights, replace an under counter light, add a bathroom exhaust fan, repair the switch to the other bathroom exhaust fan, remove a broken and "hot" electrical plug outside and replace several exterior lights. Whenever a question occurred while they were working, we were consulted and everything explained. The work was completed in one day. Our exterior lights didn't arrived until very late after the men had left for the day. They came back the next day and installed them. These four were the most respectful workers I have ever had in any of our homes! They were very polite with not only us as homeowners, but with each other! They sat on our front porch for lunch, no smoking or foul language (which I personally appreciate so very much). The next day also was the day T&M had scheduled a sheet rocker, Rick, to repair work around the newly installed can lights in our ceiling. He was fast and efficient - following along with the way T&M Electric folks treated us! T&M will need to come back one more time to install the trims around the can lights once Rick's work is dry. I have had some electrical work done by T&M electric in the past, they were very professional, friendly, knowledgeable. I was pleased with their work, they don't look for short cuts or do shoddy work. I called them and made an appointment, yes they are so good there was a wait, it was ok since it wasn't an emergency. Today they were replacing two ceiling fans and putting in three new electrical outlets. While they were doing the work for one of the new outlets they discovered an electrical cord that was frayed it was hazardous and could have caught fire. Wow! we are lucky that they found it. Today Josh, Jordan and Cole did the work, It's sounds like it wasn't that much to do but they had to up to the attic drill the hole for the outlets. They removed two fake beams to install the new ceiling fans, it looks beautiful. I highly recommend these guys, if you want the job done right. read more

Found a GFCI in my house had stopped working. When we removed the plug, we found wires not capped and white wire used for hot. Large section of the house went through that GFCI. Called T & M and they responded within 2 hours of my call. Cole arrived and immediately dove into the problem and fixed everything in less than an hour. He was very knowledgeable and super polite. I called T&M Electric after seeing recommendations from Yelp and Nextdoor to give me a quote to install a whole home generator I purchased myself. I knew approximately how much it should cost and their bid was in the expected range so I went with them. First off, they took the time to come out and do the bid after I had called another electrician who wasn't even doing bids because they were "so busy." Over the phone they warned me that they too were busy and there would be a wait to get the work done, which I was fine with and is more likely than not a sign that they are good and worth the wait. Tim came out, took a look, explained the process to me, answered my questions, and was very knowledgeable and confident. When the day arrived for the install, Tim himself and Josh showed up early. After finishing they explained the ins and outs of the generator functions and I felt confident from seeing the process that they were doing clean work. I even noticed they took the time to caulk around the transfer switch box that was mounted on the wall which may seem small, but it is those little touches that make the work clean. In addition, Josh installed the skirt around the bottom of the generator. Again, the small things...it is not necessarily within the scope of the electrical work, but they did that for me anyway. I have dealt with many contractors/service providers in the past year or two and have had issues with many of them, so the fact that they came out on time and did some clean work on a job that could definitely have been shortcut in many ways was a relief. From lights in the kitchen to switches and sockets in the bathrooms, bedroom, and garage - it's all taken care of! And in under two hours. Happily, I have a home warranty so it only cost me $75, but if their prices are as good as their service I don't doubt it would've been reasonable. And he came all the way out to Swansboro to do it! T& M did a fantastic job of helping make our home spa dream come true. My husband called them early on in the plan to get their advice on how to set up the project. After getting cement poured they arrived to set up the electric for our new spa. Josh (and Wyatt and James), arrived right on time. He ran a 220V and a 110V connection from our main breaker box to a location near the hot tub. He created a power switch to code at the location near the hot tub and then left plenty of wire to accommodate any angle of connection. Their work was so clean. Josh carefully wired around our existing storage pieces in the garage and then outside, along the exterior, under gutters, over other other facade pieces. When he was finished, it looked like it was integrated from day 1. The best thing was that even though our delivery date for the spa could not be worked out to coincide with our T&M appointment, Josh came back to the project the Friday before Memorial Day in the late afternoon to do the final hookup. These guys replaced a breaker in the house I rent. The breakers are 50 plus years old and very unreliable so I asked that possibly they could replace them with something newer. I spoke with Tim on the phone who lied and told me that they had a refurbished breaker to replace it. They replaced it with another breaker pulled out of a customer's home that they replaced the fuse box on and sold it as refurbished. Then when it failed they told the property management company to charge me for it because my small 10 amp a/c unit that wasn't even plugged in on that circuit was supposedly the problem. Had T&M out to check an electrical problem with our AC system which suddenly stopped working. Of course it was during our current heat wave which added a since of urgency to the problem. Josh and Casey from T&M arrived on time and had the problem diagnosed and repaired within an hour. I first had dealings with Tim from T&M when lightning struck our home several years ago. Tim and his crew were out the same day and restored temporary power to my home and ultimately completed permanent repairs. Since then we have had them back to do several projects. Tim and his crew did an outstanding job taking out our old fluorescent light fixture in the kitchen and adding some in-ceiling cans, some hanging lights, a couple fans , and some other assorted repairs. He even arranged for the drywall guy to come in the next day to cover the hole where the florescent fixture was. His guys showed up on time and did all the repairs in even less time than forecast. Tim doesn't trust his employees apparently feels he needs to keep them on the cell phone while they work with one hand. I ordered copper wire but I got aluminum instead. Now it all has to be done over again with copper. About all I can pay him for is the light bulb he changed. Sad because Tims employees are okay but Tim has some mental issues. Hes a screamer. His employees do his bidding ignoring the customers order. I am not going to pay by the hour to have him standing in the street talking on the phone. He got paid in full but he couldn't be respectful. Claims he knows things about people he doesn't know at all. Call me a thief and I may as well be one. read more

This company did some electrical work for us last year. The work was done well but it took forever. They never return calls or emails. And their method of letting you know how much $$ you have to pay up front is insane. On the estimate are several numbers: pay a percentage of two numbers that you have to add up, pay a percentage of this number and all of this number. Having just moved to Fair Oaks CA from NC I did not know anyone to use for electrical work I needed to have done on a house I just bought. On a recommendation from my realtor, I called T&M to quote me work from installing ceiling fans, to installing extra lights in the garage, 3 prong outlets where there were 2 prong ones, extra switch for my whole house fan, etc. From the beginning of the scheduling of the appointment through Mary to Tim's quote right through the crew showing up and doing the work, I couldn't have been more pleased. They were ALL professional, on time, exceptionally nice, cleaned up everything very well and did exactly what they said for the price they said.
