I've used this company several times over the years for routine maintenance on my Generac generator and had no issues until this most recent experience. My generator, which was installed around 2012, developed a problem where it would not start properly or continue running. I understood that diagnosing and repairing an older unit could take multiple visits and that there was no guarantee the first repair would solve the issue. My problem was never with the technician who came out--he was professional. My issue was entirely with the office, specifically Heidi, and the lack of communication, billing transparency, and professionalism. From the beginning, communication was extremely poor. It was difficult to get clear answers about what work was being performed, what was still wrong with the generator, and what charges were being incurred. I approved two service calls and two repairs over the phone based on the amounts I was quoted. When I received the final invoice, it was approximately $500 higher than the total Heidi had quoted me. When I called to discuss the discrepancy, instead of acknowledging the issue professionally, she became argumentative and admitted she "hasn't been that organized lately" and hadn't been billing correctly. I explained that it wasn't my responsibility to pay for work that had never been authorized. Her response was, "Well, what do you want me to do now? Come out and take the parts out?" She also laughed several times on the phone while saying "You know you have an old generator right!" That response was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Everyone makes mistakes, but how those mistakes are handled says a lot about a company. A simple acknowledgment and willingness to resolve the issue would have gone a long way. The generator is still not working correctly I might add. Communication and accurate billing are critical when authorizing repairs, especially when the costs can add up quickly. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I cannot recommend this company as long as Heidi is handling billing and service coordination. It's unfortunate because the technicians were fine, but poor office management completely overshadows this company. read more

Great service from the call back to the service! On time and with a smile. Good price and extra credit for the calls to follow up.

Called for Generac Generator service/repair. Appointment was scheduled, office staff called with a reminder of the service date. Technician was knowledgeable and noted the issue may be under warranty. Office staff called to notify me the needed part was on its way and the would call me to schedule the installation of the new part. Office followed up to notify me the part had arrived, scheduled an appointment. Technician returned to install new part. All went very smoothly. Would definitely recommend these folks 100%, they are excellent at keeping you apprised of the process. read more

Five years and counting with a solid product and a great service company. Our Generac was installed beautifully by Chandler Electric and works great. This Generac has been a must since my husband works from home and online every day. Living in a mountain town, we have many outages. We love that it comes on automatically the moment that there is an outage. We are usually the only people on our street with power when the power goes out. It has been running perfectly and Chandler Electric follows up on schedule to service and maintain. We have had a great experience and recommend Chandler to install your Generac. Chandler Electric is an amazing one-stop shop for a home standby generator installation - it is ALL they do. Locally-owned and small enough to be exceedingly accommodating, everyone involved in our generator install was courteous, professional, communicative and flexible. Justin Chandler had the best deal on the generator AND a propane tank to run it, HANDS DOWN. The CE office staff (Heidi and Gabby) are fantastic guiding the project, scheduling inspections, changing dates last minute (thanks, snow!... TWICE) and making sure we understood what needed to be done through Generac. Installers - Colin, Kyle and Greg the electrician wizard - were hard-working, thorough, neat, detail-oriented, and even cleaned up after they were done. Extremely pleased!! We couldn't be happier with Chandler's work planning for and installing our Generac generator! The Chandler team was very responsive with communication as we planned for our Generac generator. Even we had to leave a message, our call was returned super fast. The Chandler team handled all the required city permits and timed installation out accordingly. The installation team arrived on time and was super professional. If questions arose, they explained the why and how of what they were doing in a chill friendly manner. The generator and wiring was done in about 4hours and with minimal noise heard inside the house. They left permit paperwork in a secure plastic bag where the city inspector could easily locate when they arrived without needing to "bother" us. Once the permit was signed off, a second quick appointment and we were 100% connected and ready to rock should we lose power. We highly recommend the Chandler Electric team! read more

This is in follow-up to my initial review of Chandler Electric back in June of 2021, following installation of my Generac 22kW standby generator. We really like the customer service and attention to detail Chandler Electric provides when servicing our generator. It's a vital component to our household and maintaining it in a reliable, workable condition is very important to us. They remember to call and remind me of my yearly service, explain in clear detail the work needing to be done, or the work that was done and in my opinion that is invaluable. I don't know if there is a more affordable option out there, but I also wouldn't switch given how happy I have been with Chandler and their employees. read more

We inherited a Generac home generator with the home we purchased two years ago. I used Chandler in 2021 when the oil cap came off and leaked a bunch of oil; they cleaned everything up so it looked like it was brand new, and performed a service on the generator. It has been a year since we hired Chandler Electric to install our Generac generator. Dealing with the Chandler office personnel was easy and pleasant. Justin, the owner, inspected our property, and was very professional and knowledgeable. He made suggestions and recommendations, such as where the Generac should be placed and how powerful it should be. After installation, the County inspector quickly approved it, and we were good to go. In the last year, we have lost power in our area 7 times without warning. Each time the Generac kicked on right away, and everything came back on as if we had never lost power. The best part is we have peace of mind and never have to fear losing power again. read more

The purpose of this review is to highlight the many ways that Chandler Electric provided excellent customer service and support to achieve an optimum, cost-effective solution to our home generator needs. We hired Chandler Electric to provide an upgrade to our original generator system. When we built our home in 2007, we put in place a 16 KW Generac unit wired to a single critical load panel. This was not done by Chandler and the resulting critical load panel did not have all the loads we required. We also decided that the ability to run our HVAC systems was a necessity not included in our original plans. Chandler surveyed our needs and developed a plan to feed all our needs and not require any re-wiring of our existing sub-panels. The simplest way to do this was to disconnect our present generator and install three new transfer switches. However, since PG&E has many power outages, I asked if they could keep the original generator in a working condition while they set up for the new 47 KW unit. This made wiring the new transfer switches much more difficult but the team accomplished that task. It also included running a new, larger gas line for the new generator, but keeping the original line pressurized until change-over. One observation that really pleased me was the effort by the technicians to due a very tidy routing of the new conduit. They also did a very complete job of labeling the new breakers and what they controlled. They also would clean up each night so the area stayed spotless. The techs also attached the box housing the lines from the generator to the house in a very attractive way that is non-intrusive to the eye. On the day that the cut-over to the new unit was done, everything worked perfectly, and I could not be more pleased. From system design to actually install, the team from Chandler Electric performed very well. The system works so well, we have had some power outages that we did not even know happened. In summary, when considering a generator for your home, you definitely should select Chandler Electric for your project. read more

Chandler Electric - Nice clean perfect installation 4 hours from start to finish. - Electricians Near Me - Cameron Park, California

Two years after installation of my Generac Generator, I detected the smell of propane. My propane company came right out to investigate and discovered numerous leaks in the line from the tank to the generator. They red-tagged my tank. Chandler Electric came out to repair the line. I told the repairman that the regulator needed to be vented (it wasn't vented at all) to the ground and away from the window and away from the generator, to comply with code. The Chandler repairman told me that he had phoned my propane provider and had been told that was OK as it was. The next day the propane company came out to inspect the repairs and let me know that NOBODY had phoned about venting the regulator and that it needed to be vented. The inspector vented it for me, but I was charged $100. Bottom line - Chandler Electric lied to me about being in communication with the propane company. They failed to properly vent the regulator and I ended up paying $100 to bring that up to code. None of the connections on the line, during the original installation, had been tightened - that's what was leaking. read more
