I have been trying to get a hot tub connected at my house for 6 months. Everyone knows an electrician and I have reached out to several. Most have not returned my call or email. I contacted my realtor for a list of electricians that they have used and Young's was the first one on the list that was based in Placerville (others were in Sac area) and gave them a call. First off was being surprised that someone answered the phone on the 2nd ring. I explained my dilemna and Hannah said she could get someone out there the next day for a free quote. I was not in town so I couldn't meet James there but he had no problem going out alone. As luck would have it, James had been to my house to do quite a bit of work a few years ago before I bought it. Even if I hadn't picked him for the work, he will save me quite a bit of time when I need to use the generator again. Turns out he installed the bypass panel for that too! I was given a quote the same day and told him to book it ASAP (especially with the winter coming up) and he let me know what parts he needed to order and when they would arrive. The earliest install (due to parts) would be in 8 days which was reasonable. James was there on the planned install date and got the job done within a few hours. I let our realtor know to make a note on his spreadsheet that their service is top notch. I also have plenty of weird light switches, electrical panels, lights, and fans that I still can't figure out so I will be calling them back for more help! read more

I spent a never ending evening engineering a lighting plan that finally would fulfill my desires and perfectionist decor. Being inspired by the likes of extremism, BDSM, and Zuckerberg, I had decided the design. But, I required a hand. I didn't need a journeyman, too expensive, and I can finger a junction box. I needed a cheap work grub to hang tight while I lay the pipe on the floor. Take measurements, and let me shoot the carp, so I got me a fairy. The specs of the lighting plan was unadorned but also convoluted, due to its organic shape for the structure. I decided to use 1/2" conduit to really get accurate bends and representation of this enormous illumination shaft. I was pleased that the laborer was able to bend that pipe, and hold it steady for as long as possible. By the end of a 10 hour shift, we had the 480 hooked up and the sparky was sore. Great hireling. We had an electrical 'emergency' involving our kitchen fluorescents (ever try to cook in the dark?) and the potential solutions were mostly beyond my abilities. So - to the phones! Initially, we called Young's because they were the only electrician still answering the phones at that hour - but I was immediately impressed with Hannah's friendliness, professionalism and especially her willingness to answer the phone after the posted end-of-day. We set up an appointment. Young's is very good at keeping you informed of scheduling, arrival times etc. via the method(s) of your choice: home phone, cell phone, text messaging, etc. This came in handy because they were able to arrive three hours earlier than our initial appointment - and that worked very well for our day's schedule. Andrew was our serviceman, and he was knowledgeable, courteous, quick and efficient. He diagnosed, and repaired our issue effectively, He even graciously put up with my nattering.
