He didn't have a part, which is understandable because we didn't know what he might have needed for our older model Tesla Wall charger. Kevin installed our Tesla Charger with a 240 volt, 60 amp circuit. I did the load calculation that was needed because of the circuit load and Kevin got the permit. I originally asked him to install a subpanel but when he started the work, he realized the subpanel was unnecessary and explained this me and talked me out of it, which saved me some money. Unprofessional. Called on a Saturday. He said he'd come by to look at the job AND I texted to confirm the address and on site contact. An hour or so AFTER he was suppose to arrive I texted for an update on his arrival and received no response. Over two hours after that (nearly 4 hours after he was suppose to arrive) he responded "I don't know who this is but I'm not looking at any jobs this weekend sorry." Fortunately I didn't have staff stay and wait for him which would have wasted time and money. But its 2018. EVERYONE knows how to scroll up a text message chain. CLEARLY you saw that you confirmed an on site estimate today. I'm confident I texted the right number because after our conversation I simply clicked his number in the call log as the text recipient. AGAIN it's 2018. Pretty easy to track things with our high tech devices. I would've preferred no response at all than a silly text message like that. Really? If you changed your mind or if something came up the text should have read, "my apologies but I'm afraid I am going to cancel the on site estimate we scheduled. Can we reschedule for another time?" That I would respect. But to text me hours later as if I imaged the appointment with the confirmation text at the top of the email chain? Kevin has done three jobs at our house. First, he installed a subpanel in our garage and helped wire the garage for 220 volts. Next he upgraded our main panel from 125 to 200 amps, and elevated the power mast that was too low. This second job required coordination with SMUD (utility) for the one day disconnect-reconnect, plus inspection from the city. Finally, he upgraded and installed new lighting throughout our house. For all three jobs, Kevin provided project guidance and a quote. Kevin was professional, friendly, clean, and did great work. I had been putting off hiring an electrician for years because everyone kept scaring me how expensive they were. This turned out not to be the case with KJ Electric. When I had a mandatory home inspection done, I was told that my kitchen lighting would require electrical work to be done. Kevin has performed a lot of work on our new home which we are remodeling. He has fixed existing wiring, performed the demo of the kitchen wiring and installed a lot of new odds & ends in existing rooms. From new construction wiring, main panel rebuilding and all sorts of simple to complex. He is always friendly, on time, consistent, clean and affordable. The few times odd things have arisen after his work he immediately returns free of charge to trouble shoot and make sure everything is safe and functional. The last problem turned out to be a problem with the SMUD connection at the pole that he correctly diagnosed. After calling SMUD the whole house was back to normal.
