This 90 year old bathroom never had an outlet. Thanks to Metcalf, I can use a sonic now!
Hilary Jane C.

Metcalf reworded my kitchen to perfect, there were zero issues when it came to inspection. They really know what they are doing with these old homes also. If you have knob and tube, not only can they repair or, they can certify your home. For insurance purposes. I am always happy with their work, and the employees are good people. They are always the same guys, telling me that isn't is good to work for Norman. I recommend!

Conduit destroying wall
Richard H.

I write this unfortunate review to try and warn others in their search for honest and skilled electrical companies. My concerns are based on: 1. Actual poor electrical work 2. Incompetent team and lack of proper oversight 3. Inappropriate interactions with Kurt, team leader 1. Poor electrical work (pictures). My colleague gave rave reviews for Norman (owner), however Kurt was in charge of the work at my house, and perhaps that is where the fault lies. There were a range of mistakes from the larger missed recessed light placement, the unsecured electrical outlet, the destruction of the wall from conduit placement, the open terminal and broken pool light (all in photos). Then there are the smaller mistakes like setting mismatching light colors, however this is a reflection of their attention to detail (photo). 2. Poor interactions with team. The pictures demonstrating the poor work is just half the story. I understand Kurt was the licensed electrician and his workers are not, however they should be properly supervised. On the first day of work, one of the young workers asked me if my air conditioning had been working and alerted me there was an error message on my smart thermostat. I went up to the thermostat, saw the error, and fixed the loose wire, which likely came loose when they were attempting to run wire down the wall (which they failed at). I was a little unsettled by the fact that I, a person not working for an electrical company, had to teach the electrical worker how to fix the thermostat (which they install btw). This lack of problem solving capabilities also likely explains the unnecessary hole they made in the ceiling when attempting to place the recessed light that same day. And that is only one story of many. 3. Inappropriate interactions with Kurt. I understand that we all make mistakes, but it is the way he responded to these mistakes that was troubling. After approaching Kurt regarding my concerns about the unnecessary holes in the wall, the fact that our pool light was not working (despite it working prior to his work), the fact that he did work that was not originally agreed on (he placed recessed lights in an area we did not agree on, he changed out a pool light switch when the only issue was that the breaker on the panel just had to be replaced since it wasn't tripping), he became angry and defensive. This was a red flag for me. He became angrier as I informed him I would like to have another electrician take a look at the work. Another red flag. I emailed the company with my concerns without reply. At the end of the day, I paid the more than $10,000 worth of work that was poorly completed, and found a different company, Charles Young Electric, to repair the mistakes and finish the work, who I highly recommend. Would recommend staying away from Metcalf Electric at all costs.

NEMA 14-50 Outlet Install

I hired Metcalf Electric to install a 240V outlet in my garage to charge an electric vehicle. I chose Metcalf since they came back with a very honest and fair estimate to install the outlet compared to two other competitors I had received quotes from. I appreciate an honest company that is not looking to over-bill unknowing consumers for unnecessary services. Not only did Metcalf provide a fair estimate, but they also conducted the work in a professional and timely manner. Kurt also went above and beyond by helping diagnose an issue with my electric box too which they didn't charge for. I will definitely be using this company in the future if I need any electric work done.

Professional work.

Quick work. Norman communicated well. They removed old 1940s light fixtures and repaired a sub panel. Professionals.

**Yelp Review for TNT Electric**…read more I can't say enough good things about my experience with TNT Electric! They truly deserve a five-star rating. From the start, their timeliness was impressive, especially since we were working on a tight schedule. They were incredibly flexible, accommodating different phases of work happening throughout our home, which made the process so much easier. The professionalism of the team was evident as they thoroughly understood the scope of the project. They communicated updates clearly and helped us as homeowners navigate the process, making everything feel manageable. Their work ranged from installing basic light switches to removing kitchen lighting boxes, and they did an outstanding job providing a smooth ceiling finish for the new recessed lights. Additionally, they expertly installed ceiling fans and external motion-sensor lights, enhancing both the functionality and aesthetics of our home. Overall, TNT Electric made this experience seamless and stress-free. I highly recommend them for any electrical needs!

TNT Electric did an awesome job for our recent master bathroom and guest bathroom remodel. The guys…read morewere very professional and had a lot of experience. The team wired and installed multiple scones, moved and added recess lighting, added multiple pendant lights, wired for vanity lighted mirror and installed plugs for 2 smart toilets. Here's just a few points on what made this company stand out: 1. Quick response, great communication and best quote. I requested quotes from 3 other companies and Briar was quick to respond with a thorough quote breaking down all the work which I really appreciated. Other companies just gave the overall price or didn't even respond. 2. Great at managing their resources and very service oriented. TNT did all the prep and was one of the first trades to complete their work on schedule. The vanities were installed but needed modifications which caused 2 of the scones not to line up. One call to Briar and he had his guy out to quickly make the modifications before the tile guys came to tile the walls keeping us on schedule which I really appreciated. 3. Able to manage last minute changes. I had a few last minute modifications I wanted to add and Briar was able to make all modifications with no issues. 4. Came back at no extra charge to install all lighting. Once the remodel was completed and we were ready to install the lighting, Noah came out at no extra charge and did a wonderful job making sure everything was properly installed. Some of my pendant lights had heavy crystals and he replaced and installed a heavy duty light box to make sure all lights were secure at no extra cost. He added dimmer switches on several lights too. The other companies I quoted did not offer this service or wanted to charge me extra. In summary, I would highly recommend TNT Electric for all your electrical needs. Great people and awesome service.

Tyler fixed some wobbly outlets today. He was super informative and helpful. Educated me on space…read moreheaters and gave me input on my current outlet situation and what I can do in the future. He confirmed the outlet was indeed getting power, and that the box needed to be adjusted. It was a quick 30 minute fix (maybe less than 30 minutes but I got some educational incite from him). Glad I went with Hagan Electric to fix this. A previous electrician from Mister Sparky Electric claimed the outlet needed to be rewired and was not getting any electricity. The Mister Sparky Electric guy charged $400 to tell my HOA: "Resident has square D panel which complies with today's standards. No need to change panel." All he did was look at the panel that day. Maybe 15 minutes to say what kind of panel it was and charged $400. Anyways- beware of going to certain companies to have electrical work done. Hagan Electric seems like a good one. The job I had today was pretty simple.

From the initial estimate request, I was contacted just a few hours later and Israel was able to come out the next morning for a quote. The price was better than 2 other estimates I received and included all of the permitting/SMUD details that needed to be taken care of. The day of the service, there was great communication and everything with the job went smoothly. Israel and David let me know when addition things were going to be needed and explained the reasons why changes needed to be made. The job site was left extremely clean and the work area looks better than when they arrived. I would absolutely recommend them for your electrical needs. An added bonus is they are a Veteran owned company.
