Last week I bought two vehicles, and my only regret is that I bought one of them before finding…read moreTexas Auto Ranch. I called and left a message Monday morning and received a call back from the owner, John Phillips. I pass by his lot every day coming and going and noticed that he always seemed to have lots of nice looking stock on hand. I was in the market for a late model Infiniti and noticed that he had several on hand. When John called me back, I delivered my typical "This ain't my first rodeo speech," so as to let him know that I was not going to be a push over. John was very humble and friendly, it was immediately apparent to me that working with him was going to be fun and easy. After speaking on the phone a few times, curiosity finally got the better of me and I stopped by after work. John is a man's man who loves to talk about fishing and his kids, and we got along famously. He presented me with several options, and earned my trust by revealing several aspects of the deal that are normally kept from customers. It was an educational experience, even for someone like me whose bought several cars and has friends who have their dealers license. The car had some minor imperfections, but John made some calls and got me taken care of. As it turns out, this is not his first rodeo either and he is incredibly well connected, and apparently incredibly influential with his business contacts as he was able to get me some nice freebies and discounts. Having purchased 10 cars since moving to Austin, most of them at Austin Infiniti, I had a good basis for comparison for rating a car buying experience. John and Texas Auto Ranch are far and away the best I've ever encountered, and because of integrity, his personality, and his willingness to go above and beyond, he's earned a customer for life. Here are some pointers: 1. Call him first to find out if he has what you want, or visit his website. 2. He may be able to find what you want if he doesn't already have it. 3. Be nice and you'll be amazed at the level of service you receive. 4. Give John a shot at your financing even if you already have your own lined up. He could have saved me some money, as it turns out. 5. Compare his prices to anyone in town; you'll be amazed. 6. Tell him that you contacted him because of his YELP page, so he'll believe me when I tell him it will actually increase his sales.

Best car dealership ever, hands down! We had a great experience at Texas Auto Ranch in Hutto! They…read moreare not your typical, fancy car dealership, with the sales team vultures stalking and swirling around you. The owner, John Phillips, is an honest man, just trying to make a living. I found the car online and had to drive from Galveston to Hutto to go get it. John held the car for me for 2-3 days until I could get out there; even though, he had other offers on it. When we got there, he handed me the keys, and allowed us to test drive the car by ourselves, trusting us to come back. Neither him, nor his friend and co-worker, Mike, bothered us while we were looking at the car, checking for damage, making sure all the buttons, lights, etc. worked; and that the car was in good condition. They were actually helpful and answered all of our questions with no pressure. They were no hassle, straight-up, and to the point. Not to mention, they gave us a great deal on the price!!! They made the car buying process quick and painless, in fact, it was a very pleasant experience. He even offered to take care of us, if any issues happened after we purchased the car. Additionally, they recommended a cute cafe for us to eat at afterwards, which was delicious and another pleasant experience. Needless to say, it was well worth the long drive to Hutto, and we will definitely be purchasing our next car from them. It is rare to find genuine, honest, good people like John and Mike. Thank you for making our car buying experience as painless and pleasant as possible! We greatly appreciate it and wish there were more people like you!

They were super busy, I stood at the counter for some time before someone asked me to scan the QR to be processed. If that information was mentioned upfront, I would have saved myself some time. After that a lady took the keys and asked to what in the waiting area. Appraisal would take 30-40 mins. Was called like in 20-30 mins amd received my quote. I didnt sell to them but apart from them being busy inspite of appointment time allocated, it all went smoothly.

Let me start off by saying this was my first and last time purchasing a car online. My experience…read morewas horrible. I would rather have the expectations of being in a dealership for 5 hours instead of wasting my time online, filling out all of the documents and being under the impression that I would be in and out in 30 minutes and ask the same questions that were answered online and on the phone when someone from carmax called me. 1.. The process totally wasted my time. I spent a good amount of time online filling out all documentations.Answering all questions only to be asked those same exact questions. When I got to the dealership. 2. I got to the dealership roughly at 4:30. I was told that I would be out numerous times within thirty minutes. All I would have to do is sign and go. Well, that was the first misleading statement from carmax. I did not leave the dealership until 9:30. 3. The salesperson that was assigned to me.His name was ramsey. I never felt comfortable with this guy.He never made me feel as if my best interest was being met. The process felt just like a process.Give me in, get me out.Let him move on to the next person. He spoke to me in a very condescending wait, in fact, I had to correct him a couple of times about the way he was speaking to me. He spoke to me as f I was a individual who lacked the intelligence to understand the process. 4. Ramsay also didn't give me the full carmax experience of when you buy a new car. while waiting 44 and a half hours, I did see other salespeople. When they finished up their sale, walk with their clients to their new car and give them the yellow bow treatment with the pitcher. Well, needless, say that is not an experience that I got with ramsey. As I said previously, everything seemed like a rush process, he made me totally feel like I was an inconvenience to him.And wasting his time. 5. Let's talk about the appraisal process. Now, this isn't something that i'm really upset about, because you can't really have a vehicle appraised online and have an actual good appraisal without an actual appraiser.Looking at the car. Online, they told me, initially I was gonna get $8000 for my car, well, turns out, I only got $6400. 6. Let's talk about the car. I purchased a 2024 BMW 330I with the M2 Sports package with 7,100 miles on it. After spending 425 hours in the dealership, it was finally time for me to get my car. WELL THE FIRST THING I NOTICED WHEN I GOT INSIDE THE CAR WAS THAT THE FLOOR MATS WERE GENERIC FLOOR MATS THAT DID NOT FIT THE CAR AT ALL. AND WHEN I SAY THEY DID NOT FIT THE CAR AT ALL, MEANING THE FLOOR MATS ACTUALLY COVERED THE GAS PEDAL. i brought this to the attention of the floor sales manager. Instead of coming up with helpful solutions from the beginning I was told that the pitchers online did not come with floor mats.So they just threw some floor mats in there. Again, I told this guy that this is a safety issue. The floor mats literally covered the gas.Pedal, and they let me drive off that way. They told me to find some floor mats under a hundred and fifty dollars, and they were reimburse me. Now I'm not the sharpest knife in it. Kitchen drawer? But I would always think that a dealership's top priority is to make sure they're letting you leave in a nice safe vehicle At the very least, they could have said.Hey, let us take these car mats out this vehicle. And when you buy some new ones, just bring us the receipt and reimburse you.No that did not happen. 7. Let's continue to talk about the car. Before carmax sells your car. They are supposed to do a quality inspection on the vehicle. I'm under the impression that this vehicle did not get a dural quality.Inspection. My reasoning for saying that is because the following day When I took the car to where I work at which is ABM W dealership It was pointed out to me that the windshield had a very large crack in it. Now to give carmax credit, they did get that problem.Taken care of they replaced the entire windshield. The car was also missing all four valve stem caps. Does summit all up my first and last car buying experience with carmax was an utter failure. The only reason I left with this car is because of myself. Pride, because I was telling everyone I was buying this car, and I had to deal wrapped up.That's the sole reason that I bought this car. I'm pretty sure that ramsey and his entire sales team mayfield, as if they got one over me by selling me this car at the non negotiated price that I wanted online and then me still buying a car after the whole entire bad experience. Well I may have left with this car But carmax will never see me again as a customer, and I hope that these words read to someone before they make a decision to buy a vehicle from you all..

I normally do not leave negative reviews unless I genuinely feel a dealership failed to handle a…read moresituation properly, but this experience has been extremely disappointing from start to finish. I brought my 2026 Ram 2500 diesel in because the rear ParkSense system suddenly started falsely detecting an object directly behind the truck every time I put it in reverse. The truck immediately beeps and shows an obstacle in the center even when nothing is there. The dealership insisted my receiver hitch was causing the problem. That explanation never made sense because I have owned this truck since November 6th of last year with the exact same hitch setup and had never experienced this issue until recently. The hitch also flips underneath the truck and is not even visible when stored. I repeatedly explained this to Louise, the service director, and even suggested a simple test: install a similar hitch on another new Ram truck to see whether the issue could be recreated. Instead of testing their theory, the dealership continued insisting the hitch was the problem. After picking my truck up, I removed the hitch myself and recorded a video clearly showing that the exact same ParkSense problem still exists even with the hitch completely removed. I sent the video directly to Louise, and I still have not received a response. At that point, rather than acknowledging the possibility of a faulty sensor, moisture intrusion, software issue, or an incomplete diagnosis, I was essentially told to lose their number and take my vehicle somewhere else because they did not want to continue discussing the issue. What makes this even more disappointing is that I have purchased four vehicles from this dealership over the years. I previously removed another negative review after Louise helped resolve a separate issue following the sale of this truck. I genuinely gave this dealership another opportunity because of that prior experience. Unfortunately, this situation was handled very differently. Instead of receiving a professional diagnosis and reasonable customer service, I was dismissed, blamed for the issue, and ultimately forced to seek service elsewhere after proving their original diagnosis was incorrect. I expected significantly better treatment and professionalism from a dealership that has earned this much of my business over the years. After this experience, I will not be returning.
